Joseph W. Legare

A memorial service for Joseph W. Legare, 87, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Pastor Douglas Zeck will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Legare died on May 22, 2000, at VacaValley Hospital after a short illness.

Born on Feb. 3, 1913, in Livermore, he lived in Vacaville for the past 15 years, having lived in Suisun and Fairfield for 65 years before then. He was a graduate of Armijo High School. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, being discharged honorably as a technical sergeant. He worked for the Sheldon Oil Co. for five years. In 1951 he started the Legare Gas Service and remained the owner and operator until he retired in 1975.

He was a member of the Exchange Club of Suisun and a past president. He was also a member of the Fairfield Elks and SIRS. He enjoyed tennis in his younger days and was an avid golfer, especially after retirement.

Mr. Legare is survived by his son, Williams W. of Dennisport, Mass.; son and daughter-in-law, James J. and Sylvia of California; brother, Ed of Pacific Grove; granddaughter, Reagan of California; and grandson, Kyle of California.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Suzanne C. Osborne

Memorial services for Suzanne C. Osborne, 61, of Fairfield will be at 7 p.m. today at Fairfield Church of Christ. Stan Sanderson will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Dec. 18, 1938, in Big Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Osborne died May 21, 2000, in Fairfield.

A resident of Fairfield for 26 years, Mrs. Osborne graduated from Big Rapids High School. She was a bookkeeper for Solano Christian Academy in Fairfield for many years. She was active in the ministry at the Fairfield Church of Christ and was involved in the Ladies Bible Study and various committees.

Mrs. Osborne is survived by her husband, Gordon P. Osborne of Fairfield; daughters, Catherine S. Osborne of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Colleen A. Power of Tracy; son, Kenneth P. Osborne of Berkeley; sisters, Sharon Parker of Paris, Mich., Jody Russo of Grand Rapids, Mich.; grandchildren, Bradley and Heather Power, both of Tracy. Mrs. Osborne was preceded in death by her son, David G. Osborne.

Memorial contributions can be made to Solano Christian Academy, 2200 Fairfield Ave., Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mildred O. Perry

A memorial service for Mildred O. Perry, 76, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Stan Anderson of Church of Christ, Fairfield, will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Perry died May 22, 2000, in Sunbridge La Mariposa Convalescent Hospital after a short illness.

Born April 28, 1924, in Denison, Texas, she lived in Fairfield for 11 years. She worked as a waitress in San Francisco for nine years, worked for the United States Steel Co. in San Francisco for six years and worked for an automobile parts company as a purchasing agent for 10 years. She then owned and managed the Redwood Village Mobile Home Park in Santa Rosa for eight years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Vallejo.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her husband, Roy H. of Fairfield; daughters, Dawna Williams of Vallejo, Roleta of Sonoma and Colleen of Dixon; sisters, Sadie Meyers of Clear Lake and Kathy Milinsky of Rancho Cordova; brothers, Melvin Goodin of Cartwright, Okla., and Davis Gooden of Gerber; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra Children"s Home, 5063 Midway Road, Vacaville, 95688 or American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Dorsie M. Pierre

A funeral for Dorsie M. Pierre, 62, of Dixon will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The Rev. Luther Wyatt will preside. Interment will follow at Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.

Mrs. Pierre died May 19, 2000, in Davis after a sudden illness.

Born Jan. 22, 1938, in Starkville, Miss., she lived in Dixon for 13 years. She was a homemaker all of her adult life. She was a member of the Women Elks Lodge of Fairfield and Vallejo, St. Luke"s Baptist Church and CAC.

Mrs. Pierre enjoyed antique collecting, sewing, cooking, puzzles, reading, doll collecting, gardening and raising children.

Mrs. Pierre is survived by her husband, Central J. Sr. of Fairfield; daughter, Mila of Carmichael; son, Central Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah; granddaughter, Nikkia of Dixon; brother, Willie Thomas III of Oakland; sister, Elaine Dunkley of Mount Pleasant, Texas; aunt, Jeffie Peoples of San Jose; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Pablo Amaya of Dixon.

Robert Henry Earheart

No services for Robert Henry Earheart, 68, of Suisun City, will be held. Inurnment will be in Hampton, Va.

Mr. Earheart died May 21, 2000, in his home after a sudden illness.

Born Feb. 29, 1932, he resided in Suisun City for 29 years. He retired from the Air Force as a mechanic after 20 years. He retired from the Fairfield-Suisun Water Treatment Plant after 20 years.

Mr. Earheart is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Bud Angel of Hampton, Va., Katy and Francis Carter of Suffolk, Va., Margaret and Gene Mingee of Hampton, Isabel and John O"Keefe of Hampton; sisters, Louise Foster of Yorktown, Va., and Viola Wood of Hampton; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Rose of Hampton; four stepchildren living in California; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Velma, in 1996.

Arrangements were handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

John Loren Hagle

Services for John Loren Hagle, 66, of Fairfield, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Pastor Walter Bales will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. Hagle died on May 23, 2000, at his home in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on Feb. 22, 1934, in Colusa, he lived in Fairfield for the past 24 years. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for many years before retiring in 1987. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was also a longtime volunteer at the Fairfield Senior Center.

Mr. Hagle is survived by his wife, Beverly of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Bob Herrick of Fairfield and Michele and Scott Morrison of Fairfield; sister, Leila Lewis of Silver Springs, Nev.; and brother, Richard of Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Region, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Richard Michael Houston IV

All services for 5-month-old Richard Michael Houston IV will be private.

Richard died on May 14, 2000, at University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento.

Born on Dec. 9, 1999, he had lived in Fairfield since his birth.

Richard is survived by his mother, Sharon of Vallejo; brother, Lucas York of Vallejo; sisters, Lisa York and Jasmine, both of Vallejo; grandfather, Richard II of Vallejo; godmother, Sheila Cross of Fairfield; uncles, Darrell of Fairfield and Michael of Houston; aunts, Tequila of Fairfield and Debra of Vallejo; grandmother, Maxine of Vallejo; and great-grandmother, Frankie Blair of Vallejo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a trust fund memorial c/o Sharon Houston for baby Richard Houston IV at Westamerica Bank, 333 Sunset Ave., Suisun City, 94585.

Theodore K. Olsen

A funeral for Theodore K. Olsen, 75, of St. Helena, will be 9 a.m. Friday at Masonic Blue Lodge in Fairfield. Suisun Lodge No. 55 F.&A.M. will officiate. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. Olsen died on May 22, 2000, in St. Helena after a short illness.

Born on March 15, 1925, in Vallejo, he lived in St. Helena for the past 11 years and was a longtime resident of Fairfield, having lived there for 50 years before moving to St. Helena. He served in the U.S. Navy and later in the Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He also worked for 30 years as an aircraft electrician in civil service before retirement. He was a member of the Suisun Lodge No. 55 F.&A.M., Oakland Scottish Rite, and Ben Ali Shriners of Sacramento. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a loving grandfather.

Mr. Olsen is survived by his wife, Thelma of St. Helena; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Lou Langiano of Vacaville, Linda and Ed Pryor of Vacaville, and Sandra and Gianluca Degl"Innocenti of Florence, Italy; sister, Doris Fowler of Fairfax, Va.; and grandchildren, Joel, Elise, Lauren, Andrew of Vacaville and Ashley of Florence, Italy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children"s Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817.

Annette Rose Smith

A Catholic Prayer Liturgy will be celebrated for Annette Rose Smith, 89, of Vacaville tonight at 7 in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

The Rev. William Feeser of St. Mary"s Catholic Church will preside. Interment will be private in Mount St. Benedicts Cemetery in Bloomfield, Conn.

Mrs. Smith died May 22, 2000, in Winsor House Convalescent Hospital after a long illness.

Born April 6, 1911, in Fitchburg, Mass., she resided in Vacaville for one year. She was a homemaker her adult life.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Sponzo of Vacaville; a son, Radcliffe of Polk City, Fla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary"s Catholic Church, 350 Stinson Ave., Vacaville, in Mrs. Smith"s name.

Wilhelmina C. Ebeck

A Mass of the Resurrection for Wilhelmina C. Ebeck, 50, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will officiate.

Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Ebeck died on May 23, 2000, at her home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on June 29, 1949, in Tucson, Ariz., she lived in Vacaville for the past 13 years. She worked as a cosmetician for 20 years, mostly while living in Arizona, working for Hair Casa. She was very devoted to her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling when she was able.

Mrs. Ebeck is survived by her husband, Douglas T. of Vacaville; children, Jacquelyn, Deanne Lara and Derrick, all of Vacaville; father, Manuel Verdugo of Tucson; brother, Rene Verdugo of Tucson; and sister, Gina M. Verdugo-Mulkey of Phoenix; She also has six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Ave, Vacaville, 95688.

Clarence 'Al' Evans

A funeral for Clarence "Al" Evans, 64, of Vacaville will be held in Redwater, Texas.

Mr. Evans died on May 24, 2000, in Fairfield after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on Dec. 18, 1935, in Redwater, he lived in Vacaville for nearly 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 22 years in the Air Force. After retirement, he spent 18 years with Exxon Company USA on production facilities in the Santa Barbara Channel. He enjoyed photography, travel, collecting vintage cameras, friends, family and life.

Mr. Evans is survived by his daughter, Lisa of Berkeley; mother, Myrtle; brothers, Carl and Jimmy; and sisters-in-law, Wanda and Johnnie. He also has several nieces and nephews and leaves behind all of Redwater and a multitude of good friends around the world.

A local gathering of Mr. Evans' friends in Vacaville will be arranged in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to NorthBay Hospice, 1800 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, 94533-9980.

Arrangements are being handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Joe Williams

A funeral for Joe Williams, 72, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Catholic Church. The Rev. Maurice O'Brien will officiate. Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.

Mr. Williams died on May 24, 2000, in Woodland after a long illness.

Born on May 23, 1928, in Sacramento, he lived in Dixon for the past 38 years. He was the owner of Dixon Florist for 38 years. He was a member of the Dixon Rotary Club, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He is a past Citizen of the Year in Dixon and a past director of the chamber of commerce. He was also a 10-gallon blood donor with the Sacramento Blood Bank. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gene; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Andrea of San Luis Obispo; daughter, Melissa of Dixon; daughters and sons-in-law, Courtney and Matt Kett of Dixon, and Dana and Rusty Bechtold of Lemoore; grandchildren, Dustin, Joey, Blake, Doug, Hunter, Lily, Katie, Ashtin, Abby and Emily; and sister, Louise Cowley of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his son, Brad Ivor.

Arrangements are being handled by Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

George Paul Thiessen

A Catholic Prayer Service for George Paul Thiessen, 82, of Suisun will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Inurnment will be private at Fairmont Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Thiessen died on May 24, 2000, at Sunbridge La Mariposa Care & Rehabilitation in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on Oct. 9, 1917, in Fairfield, he was a lifelong resident of Suisun. He was a captain with the Solano County Sheriff's Department from 1939 to 1951, and owned and operated Thiessen's Feed & Pet Store. He was a member of the Sheriff's Posse of Solano County and past exalted ruler of Fairfield BPOE 1976 Elks. He was an avid traveler and loved camping and fishing.

Mr. Thiessen is survived by his son, Richard P. of Sparks; daughters, Luli Rogers of Suisun and Wanda Dyer of Rocklin; and brother, Henry of Fairfield. He also had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
