Ray A. Zavala

A memorial service for Ray A. Zavala, 65, of Vacaville will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at McCune Garden Chapel. The Rev. Benedict DeLeon will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Zavala died on June 10, 2000, in Vacaville.

Born on May 20, 1935, in California, he lived in Vacaville since 1974. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and worked as a supervisor on Mare Island from 1975 to 1993. He loved restoring classic cars, woodworking and collecting model airplanes and classic cars.

Mr. Zavala is survived by his wife, Patricia of Vacaville; sons, Michael R. Saguiped of Vacaville, Lawrence A., Juan R., Vincent R., all of California; and daughters, Cathrine R. and Rosemary R., both of California.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., No. 4, Fairfield, 94533.

Nellie Elizabeth Bodin

Memorial services for Nellie Elizabeth Bodin, 90, of Suisun will be 7:45 p.m. Friday at Vaca Hills Chapel. Chaplain Michael Tachet of the Civil Air Patrol will officiate. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chicago.

Mrs. Bodin died on June 11, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born on Feb. 11, 1910, in Nashville, Tenn., she moved to the area 18 years ago. She was a playground monitor for Crescent Elementary School in Suisun. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and a volunteer for the Suisun City Police Department. She also enjoyed playing bingo and working with the children at the school.

Mrs. Bodin is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Marie of Vacaville and Charles and Mary Holbrook of Tennessee. She also had 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Burnadine Lee Gibson

A funeral for Burnadine Lee Gibson, 70, of Dixon will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset View Cemetery Association in El Cerrito. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the cemetery.

Mrs. Gibson died June 12, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo.

Born on Jan. 23, 1930, in Republic, Mo., she lived in Dixon for the past 16 years after having raised her family in El Cerrito. She was a retired telephone operator, having worked 19 years for Bechtel Corp. in San Francisco. She enjoyed cross-stitching.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband of 23 years, Walter of Dixon; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Mitzi Baston of Oakley; sisters, Ruby Donaldson of Dixon and Reba Smith of El Cerrito; and grandson, Joshua Cumings of Martinez. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Sunset View Cemetery Association in El Cerrito.

Marie Johnson

A graveside service for Marie Johnson, 85, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Interment will follow the service. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson died on June 14, 2000, at her home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on Feb. 26, 1915, in Denver, Colo., she lived in Vacaville for the past eight years. She held a ministerial license for 50 years with the Assemblies of God in Northern California. She taught many Sunday school classes and started several churches in the Fremont-Hayward area with her husband, Victor. She loved playing the organ and piano, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marge and Jerry Bernhardt of Vacaville; brother, Reuben Bauer of Colorado; and grandchildren, Mark, Kristi and Traci, all of Vacaville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor.

Wanda Lane

No services will be held for Wanda Lane, 91, of Vacaville.

Mrs. Lane died on June 10, 2000, at her home in Vacaville with her loving family at her bedside.

Born on Aug. 24, 1908, in McCammon, Idaho, she was the last surviving child in her family. She moved to California in 1923, where she met and married her husband, Henry. The couple retired in Vacaville in 1971. She was an avid gardener and was cherished by her children.

Mrs. Lane is survived by her children, Larry and Sonja of Vacaville, Michael and Susan of Bothell, Wash., and Richard and Michele Asuncio of San Francisco. She also had nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Kaiser Hospice in Vallejo.

Joseph T. Loomer

At his request, no formal services will be held for Joseph T. Loomer, 83, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Loomer died on June 10, 2000, at Winsor House Convalescent Hospital after a long illness.

Born on Dec. 27, 1916, in Queens, N.Y., he lived in Fairfield for the past three years. He worked as a chemical engineer for Continental Can Co. before retiring.

Mr. Loomer is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Melbourne, Fla.; daughters, Susan Tom of Fairfield, Louisa Broadbent of Mystic, Conn., and Molly of Melbourne; and son, Timothy of Melbourne. He also had 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Charlotte Murray

No formal services are planned for Charlotte Murray, 92, of Vallejo. Her ashes will be scattered.

Born July 6, 1907, in Carthage, Miss., Mrs. Murray died May 29, 2000, at her home in Vallejo after a brief illness.

She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening and reading.

Mrs. Murray is survived by her daughters, Wilma Perrine of Fairfield and Joan Stewart of Gualala; sons, Earle Jr. of Bellevue, Wash., Philip of Vallejo and Robert of Fairfield; sisters, Lyla Simpson of Dorchester, Neb., and Mary McAffrey of Colorado; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Murray.

Monique Lornelle Arceneaux

A funeral for Monique Lornelle Arceneaux, 21, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Monday at True Love Baptist Church. The Rev. Harold Kelly of House of Prayer in Vacaville will officiate. Burial will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Born April 7, 1979, in California, Ms. Arceneaux died June 13, 2000.

A resident of Fairfield for six years, Ms. Arceneaux was a student. She was a member of House of Prayer in Vacaville.

She is survived by her parents, Lonnie and Brenda of Fairfield; brothers, Lonnie Jr. and Erik, both of Fairfield; grandparents, Walter and Annie Roberts, and Louis Sr.; stepgrandmother, Ruby; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, nephews, relatives and loving friends.

A visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Solano Valley Mortuary, 2590 N. Texas St.

Mary Zankich Dudley

At her request, no services will be held for Mary Zankich Dudley, 88, of Vacaville. Interment will be private in Palm Springs.

Mrs. Dudley died June 15, 2000, at Winsor House in Vacaville following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born Sept. 8, 1911, in Santa Barbara, she had lived in Vacaville for a short time.

She was the daughter of immigrant parents from the Dalmatian Islands. When she was a young child, the family moved to San Pedro, where Mrs. Dudley graduated from San Pedro High School. All of her life she was connected to the fishing and culinary industries. She retired from J.J. Newberry as manager of the culinary department after 35 years.

Mrs. Dudley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Doyle-Roper and Merrill Roper of Suisun City; grandsons, Paul George Doyle of San Jose, Andrew Clifford Doyle of Security, Colo.; granddaughter, Maria Doyle-Woods of Marina; great-grandchildren, Kathy Jo, Stacie LeAnn and Andrew Doyle, all of Security, Colo., and Victoria Lee and Travis Doyle-Woods of Marina; niece, Linda Zankich Taylor; and newphews, Marko and Sammuel Stipanov, all of Sebastopol.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Draga (Dorthy) Sclmac Zankich Stipanov and Antonio (Tony) Zankich, four brothers and a son-in-law.

Memorial contributions can be made to Home Health Plus Hospice, 1003 Willow Pass Road, Suite 220, Concord, 94520 or to Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, 95812.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Allison R. Banks

A memorial service for Allison R. Banks, 19, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville. The Rev. William Feeser will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Miss Banks died suddenly June 15, 2000, in Vacaville.

Born May 21, 1981, in Elizabeth, N.J., she had lived in Vacaville for 12 years.

She was a 1999 graduate of Will C. Wood High School and was attending Solano Community College. She was on the staff at Brickhouse Vacaville Community Services and at one time served on the board there. She enjoyed swimming and writing short stories.

Miss Banks is survived by her parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Banks of Vacaville; sisters, Schadell Conners and Gwendolyn Guirty of New Jersey; brother, Guy Guirty of New Jersey; and cousins, Gugliemo, Grabriella and Giovanni Goodman, all of Vacaville.

Arrangements are being handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Ronald N. Erden

Services for Ronald N. Erden, 57, of Vacaville will be private. Inurnment will be private.

Born July 7, 1942, in Buffalo, N.Y., Mr. Erden died June 15, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base.

Mr. Erden served for 30 years in the Air Force before retiring as a chief master sergeant. For the past five years, he worked as a correctional officer for the Solano County Sheriff's Department and was a member of the county hostage negotiator team.

He loved golfing, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Erden is survived by his wife, Martha of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Linda of Vacaville; daughter, Sandra L. Davis of Citrus Heights; brother and sister-in-law, David L. and Sandy Shohbozian of San Jose; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn M. and Rick Reese of Santa Clara; and grandchildren, Daryl and Jessica Erden of Vacaville.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Road, Vacaville, 95688.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Thomas Michael Arnold

A visitation for Thomas Michael Arnold, 50, of Fairfield will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private at Saltese Cemetery in Spokane, Wash.

Born Sept. 11, 1949, in Spokane, Wash., Mr. Arnold died June 19, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center.

A resident of Fairfield for 41 years, Mr. Arnold served in the Army from 1968 to 1971 as a sergeant. A Vietnam War veteran, Mr. Arnold received the Purple Heart. He was a helicopter crew chief and a drill sergeant in Fort Lewis, Wash.

Mr. Arnold attended Holy Spirit school and Fairfield High School. He worked as an operating engineer for Central RediMix Cement. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church.

Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife, Kathie Arnold of Spokane; daughters, Shea McDaniel and Tanya Arnold both of Spokane; son, Tommy Arnold of Spokane; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Sharon Arnold, Bryan and Marjorie Henningfield, all of Fairfield; nieces, Connie Brown Henningfield and Lisa Marie Sharp, both of Fairfield; nephew, Scotty Lindgren and his wife, Sandra; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Kidney Association, 7315 Wisconsin Ave., Washington, D.C., 20014.

Ray Ervin Johnson

At his request, no formal services will be held for Ray Ervin Johnson, 54, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be private.

Born July 31, 1945, in Chicago, Mr. Johnson died June 17, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and then worked for I.C. Security Services as a guard.

He loved collecting coins, was a history buff and an avid reader as well as an avid sports fan.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, Richard Johnson of Fairfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
