Eugenia L. Ellasces

At her request, no services will be held for Eugenia L. Ellasces, 73, of Vacaville.

Mrs. Ellasces died on July 3 in Woodland.

Born on Nov. 23, 1926, in Lepanto, Ark., she lived in Vacaville since 1941. She was a former employee of Basic Vegetable in Vacaville.

Mrs. Ellasces is survived by her husband, Johnny of Woodland; son, Keith of Esparto; and mother, Vergie Durkin of Woodland. She also has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Sierra View Funeral Chapel in Carmichael.

Clifford E. Morris

Funeral services with full military honors for Clifford E. Morris, 75, of Fairfield, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

Military Chaplain will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Morris died July 1 at his home after a long illness.

Born Sept. 15, 1924, in Wichita, Kan., he lived in Fairfield for 39 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He was an intelligence technician in the Air Force and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired at a technical sergeant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Kazue of Fairfield; daughters, Jenny Loveland of Yorktown, Va., and Kathy of Concord; sons, Leonard of Harvest, Ala., and Douglas of Dale City, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Claire Marie Porter

A Mass of Christian Burial for Claire Marie Porter, 79, of American Canyon will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Ferrer Church in Vallejo. Burial will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Twin Chapels Mortuary in Vallejo, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Porter died on July 1 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born on Aug. 21, 1920, in Oakland, she moved to Vallejo in 1941 before moving to American Canyon. She worked for the Vallejo Unified School District in the food service division for 20 years before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed gardening and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her daughters, Janet Follette of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Paul of Vallejo; son, Dennis of Morgan Hill; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lois of San Leandro; sister, Sister Sharon Mellow of Riverbank; and grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Matthew and Lisa Brocco of Willows; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Amy and Daryl Stilwell of Vacaville and Tara and Michael Ebuen of Vallejo; and grandchildren, Kristin Brocco of Vacaville, Eric Beedle of American Canyon, and Kimberly and Amy of Morgan Hill. She also has seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1972, and her brother, the Rev. Edward Mellow, in 1999.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Holy Family Parish of American Canyon.

Raymond S. Salsedo

A Catholic prayer service was held Monday, July 3, for Raymond S. Salsedo, 83, of Vacaville, at McCune Garden Chapel.

The Rev. Benedict DeLeon presided. Interment followed at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Salsedo died June 25, in Stockton.

Born Oct. 14, 1916, in Hamakua, Hawaii, he lived in Vacaville for 13 years. He worked as a warehouseman for Pacific Felt. He was a member of the Puerto Rican Club of Union City. He played baseball in Hawaii and California.

Mr. Salsedo is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Liden of Vacaville and Delores Horan of Nebraska; a son, Robert Thompson of Colorado; a sister; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Bobbie S. Wilkowski

Memorial services for Bobbie S. Wilkowski, 74, of Vacaville, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Pastor Jason Gardiner will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Wilkowski died July 5 in her home after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Ardmore, Okla., she lived in Vacaville for 29 years. She was a homemaker all her adult life. She enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.

Mrs. Wilkowski is survived by her husband of 34 years, Mike of Vacaville; daughter, Ann Cavanaugh of Vacaville; sons, George Douglas Young of Vacaville, David Seely of Kern, Utah, and John Seely of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Geri Hale of Firebaugh, Redda Ferrell, Frances Siddel and Ruby Green, all of Texas; 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Arrangements were handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

William Eugene Bull

At his request, there will be no services for William Eugene Bull, 80, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Bull died July 6, 2000, in VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

Born Feb. 21, 1920, in Seattle, Wash., he lived in Vacaville for the past 30 years. At an early age, he falsified his age to join the United States Calvary. Then he had a full military career with the United States Marine Corps for more than 20 years. He then was a self-employed certified public accountant for 20 years. He was a member of the local F&AM as well as a life member of the Purple Heart.

Mr. Bull is survived by his daughter, Gail of Pennsylvania; sisters, Vivian Hayman of Pleasant Hill, Patsy Jacobs of Fremont and Anita Moe of Grass Valley; brothers, Keith of Grass Valley, Mac of Lafayette and Howard of Walnut Creek; three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817.

Arrangements were handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

John Theodore "Ted" Hedgepeth III

A memorial service for John Theodore "Ted" Hedgepeth III, 50, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Vaca Hills Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Wier will officiate.

Mr. Hedgepeth died June 23, 2000, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno.

Born Aug. 11, 1949, in San Fernando, he resided in Vacaville. He lived in the San Jose area for 20 years, where he owned and operated the Great American Balloon Company. He graduated from Fresno State University in 1972 and was an eligibility worker for the county of Solano. He belonged to the Balloon Federation of America and was also an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Hedgepeth went to Reno annually for the Great Reno Balloon Race. He was one of the 20 founding pilots of the race in 1982, and had flown in the race every year. He had been flying balloons since 1975 and had more than 1,800 hours in hot-air balloons. Ted received his gas balloon rating last year in a homemade ammonia balloon. He flew extensively in Europe as well as Australia, New Zealand and over the pyramids in Egypt. He touched many people's lives as a pilot and flight instructor in Nevada as well as around the world.

Mr. Hedgepeth is survived by his wife, Donna of Vacaville; his parents of Bakersfield; stepdaughters, Robin of Vacaville and Dianne Rustin of Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law, D. Lee and Rochelle of Modesto; and nephews, Patric and T.C., both of Modesto.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Joseph James DelGreco

At his request, there will be no services for Joseph James DelGreco, 81, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. DelGreco died July 5, 2000, in VacaValley Hospital.

Born Nov. 21, 1918, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he moved to the area two years ago and lived in Orange County for 15 years. He worked as an executive sales manager for Permatex for 35 years.

Mr. DelGreco enjoyed singing in the Bells & Beans and Leisure Town Community singing groups, was an avid golfer and deep sea fisherman. He also enjoyed baseball.

Mr. DelGreco is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna Mary; daughters, Joanne Kraan of Keno, Ore., and Barbara Pilon of Vacaville; son, Patrick of Vacaville; grandchildren, Kevin, David and Justin Kraan, all of Oregon, Matthew Pilon of Vacaville and Michelle Benoit of Sacramento; great-grandchildren, Michael Kraan of Oregon and Bryce Benoit of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Rose.

Arrangements were by Vaca Hills Chapel.

William James Etchison

A Service of Remembrance for William James "Lil' Jim" Etchison, 55, of Suisun City will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Pastor Robert Lewis will officiate. Interment will be private in Fairfield.

Mr. Etchison died on July 6, 2000, at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born on May 26, 1945, in Berkeley, he lived in Suisun City for the past 21 years. He was a custodial supervisor with the West Contra Costa Unified School District for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and the American Motorcycle Association. He also loved horses and was a loving father.

Mr. Etchison is survived by his wife of 29 years, Toni of Suisun City; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Jennifer, both stationed in Korea; and brother, Floyd Dale of Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa 95402.

Grant A. Kreinberg Sr.

At his request, there will be no services for Grant A. Kreinberg Sr. A memorial service is pending.

Mr. Kreinberg, 88, died July 5, 2000, in Vacaville after a short illness.

Born Feb. 24, 1912, in New York City, he later moved to Vacaville. Before retiring in 1972 as the sign department supervisor with the Oyster Bay (Long Island) Highway Department, he owned and operated Indian Head Nursery.

Upon his retirement, he moved to Dana, N.C., where he continued his lifelong interest in horticulture and rocks and minerals, and developed craftsman-level skills in lapidary and silversmithing.

Mr. Kreinberg was a member of the Leisure Town Gem and Mineral Club, the Vaca Valley Gem and Mineral Society and the Woodland-Davis Gem and Mineral Society. His interests in community concerns included serving the residents of Leisure Town as a member of various committees and as a board member and later president of the Leisure Town Association.

His often-expressed concern for residents of Leisure Town, as well as for all citizens, was that everyone should be actively involved in community issues and that indifference has an impact on everyone.

He enjoyed spending time with his beloved pet, Katie the cat.

Mr. Kreinberg is survived by his wife of 64 years, Grace of Vacaville; son, Grant Jr. of Green Valley; granddaughter, Jennifer of Los Osos; daughter-in-law, Georgene of Green Valley; and sister, Gladys Henninger of Prattsville, Ala.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his honor to the Oakland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at 8323 Baldwin St., Oakland 94621.

Arrangements were by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Lawrence Josh Murphy

A memorial service is pending for Lawrence Josh Murphy, 83, of Fairfield. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Murphy died on June 30, 2000, at a local hospital after a brief illness.

Born on Oct. 30, 1916, in Bryant, Texas, he lived in Fairfield for the past seven years. He worked for the Oakland Independent School District for 35 years and was a resident of Parkway Plaza since 1993.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his daughter, Marcia McGee of Fairfield; sisters, Ira Louis of Texas and Aubra of Texas; brother, Paul of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter, Monica Johnson of Fairfield; grandson, Lawrence Finley of Oakland; and great-grandchildren, Desiree Finley of Modesto and Lawrence Finley Jr. of Oakland.

Arrangements are by Solano Valley Mortuary.

Geraldine Robbins

A funeral and inurnment will be private for Geraldine Robbins, 80, of American Canyon.

Mrs. Robbins died, surrounded by family and friends, on July 5, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born March 2, 1920, in Huntington, Ind., she lived in American Canyon for 25 years. She worked as a secretary for the Apple Valley School District for 15 years, retiring in 1974. She moved to Napa Olympia Mobilodge and was active in the Tuesday Club since 1975. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt.

Mrs. Robbins is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cora and Richard Scholl of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Cliff and Robin of Draper, Utah; granddaughters, Jennifer Foster of Colorado Springs, Colo., Stephanie Scholl of Seattle, and Amy Swanson of Draper; grandson, Todd of Augusta, Maine; great-granddaughter, Jade Foster of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
