Robert L. Crandall

A funeral for Robert L. Crandall, 84, of Yountville will be noon Thursday at Hamilton Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service in Tulare. Pastor Jerry Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow at the Tipton Pixley Cemetery in Tulare.

Mr. Crandall died July 24, 2000, in Yountville after a long illness.

Born Oct. 27, 1915, in Sandwich, Ill., he lived in Yountville for the past five years after having lived in Vacaville for one year. He worked for the Steelman farm in Pixley before serving in the U.S. Army as a cook. After leaving the Army, he worked at a Los Angeles aircraft factory for several years.

Mr. Crandall is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Dollie of Vacaville, Melvin and Lillie of Los Banos, and Calvin and Sylvia of Harrison, Ark.; sisters, Eldora Jorden of Bon Weir, Texas, Audrey Gordon of San Diego, and Betty Lockwood of Sonora.

Arrangements are being handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Ernest A. Giangrande

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated for Ernest A. Giangrande, 81, of Vacaville, at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Father William Feeser will officiate. Interment will be private in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Giangrande died July 23, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born Jan. 10, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Vacaville for the past 6 years. He worked as a sheet metal worker for 42 years in the Brooklyn area having worked most recently for Acme Doors of Brooklyn.

Mr. Giangrande is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carmela of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and James Kelly of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Jr. and Donna of Massachusetts; grandchildren, James Jr. and Anita Kelly of Vacaville, Paul and Dawn Kelly of Vacaville and Kristen and Joel Eddings of Oceanside; sisters, Elizabeth Zunno and Theresa Guarino of Queens, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea, Anthony, Michelle, Joseph and Aaron.

Friends are invited for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. tonight, in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Megan Lynn Thomas

A Catholic Service of Remembrance for Megan Lynn Thomas, 21, of Vacaville, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Father William Feeser will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Miss Thomas died July 22, 2000, in NorthBay Medical Center after a short illness.

Born April 26, 1979, in Vallejo, she was a lifelong resident of Vacaville. She had most recently been employed as a receptionist at the Vaca Valley Veterinary Clinic.

Miss Thomas is survived by her parents, Marie and Jim of Vacaville; brother, Dylan of Vacaville; sister, Noel of Vacaville; half-sister, Dawn Jiminez of Orange County; grandparents, Rudolph and Ruth Bradanini of Vacaville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bank of the West in her name, account number 254254451.

Eugene C. Litynsky

A private burial service for Eugene C. Litynsky, 82, of Vacaville will be held at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation for family will be at Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.

Mr. Litynsky died July 24, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo after a brief illness.

Born March 23, 1918, in Crockett, he lived in Vacaville for the past 26 years. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for 42 years with the C&H refinery in Crockett before retiring. He enjoyed golfing and dancing and was a member of the Vallejo Moose Lodge, as well as the Concord Elks Lodge.

Mr. Litynsky is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice of Vacaville; son, Gary of Crockett; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dare of Crockett; brother, Edward of Kensington; niece and her husband, Veronice and Edward of Milan, Mo. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruben McClish

At his request, there will be no services for Ruben McClish, 60, of Fairfield.

Mr. McClish died July 21, 2000, at his home in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born July 18, 1940, in Phoenix, he lived in Fairfield for the past 23 years. He recently retired from Tosco Refinery after 22 years as a mechanic and welder. He began his career in the U.S. Navy before meeting his wife, Judy. He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. He loved to find something old and make it valuable again and was a quintessential collector of everything he deemed significant.

Mr. McClish is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy; daughter, Michelle Carver of Fairfield; stepson, Tom Honaberger of Oklahoma; brothers, Johnny and Jim of Phoenix and Ernest Garcia, also of Phoenix; sister, Adleina Fogle; and mother, Alice of Jacksonville, Fla. He also has six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society through the Solano Association of Realtors, 1302 Springs Road, Vallejo, 94591.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Jack Welch

A funeral for Jack Welch, 82, of Fairfield, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairfield Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Lewis will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Concord. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Welch died July 26, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born March 14, 1918, in Walnut, Iowa, he lived in Fairfield for the past 10 years after having lived in Pittsburg. He was self-employed as a truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Welch is survived by his wife, Geneva of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy of American Canyon; grandsons, James and Justin of American Canyon; and a sister, Doris Olsen of Oklahoma.

Kristin Diane Conley

At her request, there will be no formal services for Kristin Diane Conley, 41, of Fairfield.

Inurnment will be at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh.

Ms. Conley died July 26, 2000, at her home in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born April 13, 1959, in Pittsburgh, she lived in Fairfield for the past eight years.

She was a resident of Simi Valley, graduating from Simi Valley High School in 1977. In 1979, she moved to South Carolina, before returning to California in 1982. She worked as a cashier at Toys "R" Us. She also loved crafts and crocheting.

Ms. Conley is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tom Champi of Benicia; nephews, Joe and Tommy Champi of Benicia; and nieces, Kate and Nikki Champi of Benicia. She also has numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to ANAD, Box 7, Highland Park, IL 60035 or the American Anorexia Bulimia Association, 165 W. 46th St., Suite 1108, New York, NY 10036.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Charles S. Morton

At his request, there will be no services for Charles S. Morton, 57, of Vacaville.

Entombment was in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mr. Morton died July 25, 2000, in Winsor House Convalescent Home after a long illness.

Born Dec. 21, 1942, in California, he lived in Vacaville for 20 years. He was a self-employed artist of sign work. He was an avid motorcycle rider until his illness.

Mr. Morton is survived by his caregiver, Tammie Gilbert of Vacaville.

Arrangements were handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Albert Edward Schmid

A memorial service for Albert Edward Schmid, 80, of Vacaville, will be 11 a.m. Monday in Elmira Baptist Church.

Pastor Gerald Harder will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Schmid died July 26, 2000, in his home after a long illness.

Born Jan. 20, 1920, in Muskegan, Mich., he moved to the area in 1992. He was a lieutenant colonel for the U.S. Air Force serving 27 years. He enjoyed playing the saxophone.

Mr. Schmid is survived by his wife, Rose of Vacaville; sons, Patrick of England, Thomas of Oregon and Joseph of Sacramento; stepchildren, Frank Pompi, Kathleen and Joe Allio, all of Vacaville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Elmira Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 160, Elmira 95625.

Dorothy J. Poss

A memorial for Dorothy J. Poss, 70, of Fairfield was held Friday at McCune Garden Chapel.

The family conducted the service. Inurnment followed at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Poss died July 25, 2000 in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Jan. 14, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla., she lived in Fairfield for 30 years. She was a member of the 24-hour Fitness Club. She loved baseball, football, especially the Giants and the 49ers. Most of all she loved her family, her flowers and her pets, Sparky and Trixie, her Maltese and Sport, her Yorkie.

Mrs. Poss is survived by her husband of 36 years, Edward; children, Dorothy Wilson, Dalmacio Viega, Louis A. Viega and Clarissa V. Perez, all of Sacramento, Patti Wilson of Redding, Cathie Viega of Roberts, Wis., and Teresa of Richmond; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Norty Bay Hospice, 1800 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield 94533-9980.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Ralpha A. Darville

Funeral services for Ralph A. Darville, 79, of Suisun City, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

F&AM Suisun Lodge No. 55 will officiate. Entombment will be private in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mr. Darville died July 29, 2000, in his home after a long illness.

Born Nov. 23, 1920, in LeMars, Iowa, he lived in the Fairfield-Suisun area for 65 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked 50 years for Sheldon Oil Co., retired in 1980 as a transportation manager. He served on the Board of Directors for Sheldon Oil for 14 years until 1995.

He was a 50-year member of the F&AM Suisun Lodge No. 55, member of Order of Eastern Star Suisun Chapter No. 2, Royal Arch Masons, Solano Chapter No. 43. Member of Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Club for 43 years with perfect attendance. He served as president in 1960-61 and 1973-74.

He was a Paul Harris Fellow, and he was named Rotarian of the Year in 1997.

Mr. Darville is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorene of Suisun; son, Ron of El Segundo; son Gary and his fiance Linda Borrells of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Karl Hess of Pleasanton; brothers, Harold Kriebs of Silver Springs, Md., and Henry of Weaverville; sister, Ruth Day of Fairfield; grandsons, Chris, Eric and Kevin Darvill and Brian and Scott Hess.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Dorothy J. Poss
