Eleanor Gerevas Raper
Private services will be held for Eleanor Gerevas Raper, 86, of Vacaville, by her family. Entombment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield.
Mrs. Raper died Oct. 8, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.
Born April 8, 1914, in Fairfield, she lived in Vacaville for 38 years and Fairfield for 48 years. She graduated from Armijo High School and was a homemaker all of her adult life. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living native of Fairfield. Her father, Joseph Gerevas was a former mayor of Fairfield.
Mrs. Raper is survived by her husband, Lloyd L. of Vacaville; a son, Ronald Gerevas of Rancho Santa Fe; a sister, Marvelle Simons of Sebastopol; a grandson, Stephen Gerevas of San Francisco; a granddaughter, Michelle Gerevas of San Diego; and a niece, Deborah Stoner of Sebastopol.
Arrangements were by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
Julia Mae Schwarz
A memorial service for Julia Mae Schwarz, 85, of Suisun City, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
Captains Wayne and Patricia Wetter of the Salvation Army of Fairfield will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
Mrs. Schwarz died Oct. 7, 2000, in NorthBay Medical Center after a short illness.
Born Feb. 23, 1915, in Carthage, Mo., she lived in Suisun City since 1963. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Schwarz is survived by her daughters, Barbara Singh of Suisun City and Thelma Ruth Johnson of Fairfield; a son, John E. of Suisun City; a sister, Darlene Collins of West Plains, Mo.; brothers, Vernon Hunter of West Plains and James Hunter of Bakersfield; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1976.
Mary Clement
Memorial services for Mary Clement, 86, of Fairfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairfield Funeral Home.
Father Patrick Lanigan of Holy Spirit Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
Mrs. Clement died unexpectedly Oct. 8, 2000, in NorthBay Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1913, in Blue Mountain, Ark., she lived in Fairfield for 26 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Clement is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roger of Fairfield; sister, Marie Scharf of Oroville; brother, Holly Anderson of Jonesboro, Ark.; three nephews and two nieces.
Arrangements were handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.
George E. Fadley
A funeral for George E. Fadley, 94, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday at McCune Garden Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Leonetti will officiate. Interment will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
Mr. Fadley died Oct. 9, 2000, in Vacaville.
Born Feb. 24, 1906, in the English Hills area of Vacaville, he was a lifelong resident of Vacaville. He was an area ranch worker until he was employed by Benicia Arsenal for 26 years until his retirement. After retirement, he continued his work as a ranch hand. He loved hunting, fishing and socializing. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and worked as a volunteer firefighter.
Mr. Fadley is survived by his daughter, Georgia Farris of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Shirley of Vacaville; and daughter and son-in-law, Florence (Babe) and Ray Miller of Vacaville; and grandchildren, Richard Weed, Royce, Raymond and Joey Farris, Irene Johnson, Ed Jr., Mike and George, all of Vacaville, Renee Gibber of Rio Vista, and Edward Miller of Edwards Air Force Base. He also has 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, and grandson, Robert Farris.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Charlie Green
At the request of Charlie Green, 46, of Fairfield, there will be no services held. Burial will be private.
Mr. Green died Oct. 7, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Vallejo after a brief illness.
Born April 21, 1954, in California, he resided in Fairfield for 27 years. He worked as a supervisor for Chevron for 27 years.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Minnie of Fairfield; daughter, LaShon of Oakland; stepson, Duane Johnson of Ohio; father, Harold of Fairfield; sister-in-law, Vadis Dorsey of Oakland; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtella and Blondell Cromwell of Oakland; brother and sister-in-law, Harold II and Linda of Oakland; grandson, DaeShaun Dorsey of Oakland; granddaughter, Dauree Juan Scoggins of Oakland; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Donations may be made in memory of Charlie Green to Children's Hospital Foundation, 747 52nd St., Oakland, 94609-1809.

William Foster Richardson Jr.
Graveside services for William Foster Richardson Jr., 66, of Vacaville will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Pastor Leroy Gainey will officiate. Interment will follow. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Richardson died Sept. 23, 2000, after a long illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1934, in Boston, Mass., he served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. While in the army, he was stationed in Fort Kiley, Kan., Germany and Ft. Bragg, N.C. He was employed as a clerk for the U.S. Justice Department in Boston until his retirement in 1981.
He met his wife, Joan Burback of Santa Ana, through a church newsletter pen-pal program. While Joan visited him in Hanover, Mass., they became engaged and subsequently married in California.
After their separation, he returned to Hanover and lived in the family home until his father's death in 1981. He then lived with his sister in New York for a few years but finding the weather too harsh, moved back to California to be nearer his daughter, Ruth and brother, Steven.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his daughter, Ruth Richardson Jueneman and grandson, Christopher Lee Jueneman of Hacienda Heights; brothers, David C. of Fayetteville, Ga., Steven H. of Vacaville; sisters, Carol A. Holt of Washington, D.C., Mary E. Schnyer of Steventown, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Norman Venable
Private family services will be held for Norman Venable, 69, of Vacaville. Ashes will be scattered off the coast of Marin County.
Mr. Venable died Oct. 7, 2000, in Fairfield.
Born Feb. 24, 1931, in Fresno, he lived in Vacaville for 2 years. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Venable is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vernetta; daughters, Pamela Miller and Tracy Dyson; son, Jack Westerland; father, William of Lodi; sister, Loretta Lowman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Robinson.
Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society of Northern California.
Ellen Marie Dahlquist
A memorial service for Ellen Marie Dahlquist, 78, of Vacaville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Portsmouth Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Internment will be in South Dakota beside her beloved husband.
Mrs. Dahlquist died Oct. 4, 2000, in Vacaville.
Born July 9, 1922, in South Dakota, she moved to Leisure Town in 1996 from Alamo, Texas. She was engaged in the restaurant business with her husband for 25 years. They then opened a large ceramics business, which they enjoyed until their retirement in 1978. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Dahlquist is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Luana and Calvin Wheeler of Vacaville and Tami and Keith Opland of Marietta, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 6 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Kenneth Griffin
Memorial services for Kenneth Griffin, 51, of Costa Rica were held Oct. 8 at the Rockville Inn in Suisun.
Mr. Griffin died Sept. 25, 2000, in Costa Rica in a water accident.
Born Sept. 9, 1949, he came to Fairfield when he was 3 years old. He attended Fairview Elementary and was a 1967 graduate of Armijo High School. He resided in Fairfield and Vacaville for 47 years. He was a general contractor for 30 years and owned Now Look Construction before retiring in 1999 and moving to Costa Rica.
He enjoyed life to its fullest with hobbies of flying, boating, racing, diving, fishing and friends.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Lori of Costa Rica; sons, Scott Terra of Vacaville and Kevin of Yountville; daughter, Amber of Yountville; sister and brother-in-law, Lyn and Primo Vargas of Paso Robles.

Anne Barnett Nickell
A memorial service for Anne Barnett Nickell, 78, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Green Mill Inn in Penngrove. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Linda Cooper at (415) 492-0349.
Mrs. Barnett Nickell died Oct. 7, 2000.
Born Aug. 29, 1922, in San Francisco, she was a longtime resident of Petaluma before retiring and moving to Leisure Town. She worked for several years at the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego and retired from the National Park Service. Before then, she worked for many years at both First National Bank of San Rafael and Bank of Marin. She enjoyed performing with the Leisure Town Entertainers Guild and modeled in the Tribute to Seniors benefit fashion shows.
She loved life and was happiest on occasions spent with family and friends. She was proud of her Maltese heritage and had wonderful memories of a visit with family in Malta. Family and fiends will cherish memories of Anne's zest for life and fun. She will be remembered as a friendly, kind, caring woman devoted to her family and loyal to her many friends.
Mrs. Barnett Nickell is survived by her children, Barney Barnett of Cloverdale, and Linda Cooper of San Rafael; grandchild, Alyson Cooper; sister, Mary Carr of Greenbrae; nephews, James Carr of Petaluma, and Robert Carr of Atherton; niece, Patricia Carr of Corte Madera; and friends, Jordan Dell-Era of Cotati and Nick Nickell of Vacaville.

Angus Van Rutledge
Burial for retired Army Col. Angus Van Rutledge, 83, of Fairfield, will be held in Arlington National Cemetery
on Oct. 25, 2000.
Mr. Rutledge died Oct. 11, 2000, in Laurel Creek Health Center in Fairfield after a long illness.
Born Nov. 25, 1916, in Ninnekah, Okla., he lived in Paradise Valley Estates Retirement Community in Fairfield for three years and previously lived in Fort Shafter, Hawaii, and Chapel Hill, N.C. He was raised in Wester, Ark.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years as a colonel. He graduated in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in English from the Arkansas State University at Jonesboro, Ark., and entered the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. His first duty was at Fort Riley, Kan., with the horse-drawn 3rd Field Artillery. Washington, D.C., was his next station as assistant editor of the Field Artillery Journal. During World War II he was an assistant military attache at the American Embassy in London, England. During his next assignment to Tokyo, Japan, he worked in Gen. Douglas MacArthur's headquarters as an intelligence officer, and during the Korean War he served on the general's staff. His last assignment was Assistant Director of the Army Intelligence School at Fort Holabird, Maryland. He then retired after serving 26 years in the Army. As a civilian he worked for 13 years as an education specialist at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, and then retired from civil service.
Mr. Rutledge is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Christenson of Fairfield; son, retired Army Maj. John H., of Alexandria, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, retired Army Maj. Mark A., and Lilian of San Francisco and retired Army Maj. Wayne S. Rutledge, and Anne of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; brother, Dr. L.A. Rutledge of Georgetown, Texas; grandson, James K. Rutledge of Sterling, Va.

Beverly Anne Coy

Mrs. Coy died Oct. 10, 2000, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Born Aug. 25, 1934, in Fresno, she resided in Vacaville for 5 years, and formerly lived in Concord for 27 years. She was a homemaker her adult life. She was a very active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Concord.
Mrs. Coy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wesley C. and Carolynn of Vacaville; brother, Merle Butts of Reedly; grandsons, Adam and Nicholas of Vacaville.

Christine Stella 'Sally' Jackson

Ms. Jackson died Oct. 8, 2000, in VacaValley Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born March 28, 1934, in Texas, she moved to the area in 1984. She was a homemaker for the past 25 years. She enjoyed drawing, cooking, baking and sewing.
Ms. Jackson is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Crawford of Vacaville; sons, Clarence H. Robinson and Ricky Lee Jackson; 11 sisters; two brothers and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son.
