Debra Ann Thompson

A funeral service for Debra Ann Thompson, 50, of Fairfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Silveyville Cemetery. Inurnment will be in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson died Oct. 24, 2000, in Sutter Solano Hospital after a two-year illness.

Born Jan. 27, 1950, in Vallejo, she lived in Fairfield for 25 years. She worked for Family Doctors Medical Group in Vallejo as an Orthopedic Assistant for 25 years. She was a team member of Roller Derby Bay Bomers and New York Chiefs.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Morgan Lee Thompson Hedrick of Dixon; aunts, Helen Young of Carmichael and Mildred Stahl of Penn Valley; and cousins, Sharon Siebenthal of Placerville, Shirley Banyai of Rancho Cordova, Patricia Lujan of Cameron Park, Rory Dunaway of Vacaville, Patricia Stahl of Penn Valley and Gary Hart of Napa.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Fairfield Branch, 1652 W. Texas St., Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements were handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Clarice Penny Winters

A funeral service for Clarice Penny Winters, 72, of Suisun City, will be held at noon Monday, in First Baptist Church of Fairfield.

Stan Sanderson will preside. Inurnment will be private at the St. Helena Cemetery.

Mrs. Winters died Oct. 25, 2000, in Kaiser Hospital, Vallejo after a long illness.

Born Nov. 25, 1927, in Napa, she lived in Suisun City since 1974. She lived in Vallejo from 1940 to 1965 and Fairfield/Vacaville from 1965 to 1974. She worked at Travis Air Force Base as an administrative assistant for Matco from 1960 to 1974. Mrs. Winters was a member of the NorthBay Guild from 1983 to date. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Guild for two terms, 1995 to 1996. She was president of the Guild when the Guild donated $1 million to the NorthBay Medical Center. She was a volunteer at the Kaiser Clinic in Fairfield and worked at the gift shop at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo. She was a member of NARFE, the NRA, loved hunting and fishing, taught porcelain and ceramics, and was a painter.

Mrs. Winters is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lyle of Suisun City; daughters, Sandra Lea of Woodacre and D.J. Adams of Fairfield; son, Lyle Edward of Maui, Hawaii; aunt, Evelyn Shields of Nice; granddaughter, Jessie of Maui, Hawaii; and grandson, Suire Harrington of San Francisco.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, in the First Baptist Church of Fairfield.

Donald Francis Jones

A graveside service for Donald Francis Jones, of Dixon, will be held at 12 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Silveyville Cemetery. He died in Dixon on Oct. 25. He was 68.

Mr. Jones was born in Dixon on Aug. 15, 1932. He was a machinist and worked for the Basic Vegetable company and Elliotts. He was a U.S. National Champion Marksman, a member of the National Rifle Association and of Area Shooting Clubs.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Trudy; mother, Geraldine Jones; and Nephew, Michael Jones; all of Dixon.

Contributions in Mr. Jones' memory can be made to the National Rifle Association.

Mary Lee Peralta

A Catholic Prayer Service for Mary Lee Peralta, 61, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Monday at Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Entombment will follow at the park. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. before the prayer service.

Mrs. Peralta died Oct. 25, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Dec. 5, 1938, in Lincoln, N.M., she lived in Fairfield for the past 22 years. She worked in the U.S. Civil Service at Travis Air Force Base for 17 years. She was a volunteer with Parents for Heroes and worked with many charitable organizations in fund-raising activities.

Mrs. Peralta is survived by her sons, Michael and Richard, both of Fairfield; daughters, Loretta Peralta San Juan of Fairfield, Cecila of Chicago, and Bernadette of Fairfield; and sister, Lucy Ford of Los Angeles. She also has seven grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Tony Pulido Jr.

Tony Pulido Jr.

A graveside service for Tony Pulido Jr., 74, of Vacaville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. William Feeser of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate.

Mr. Pulido died Oct. 25, 2000, in Vaca Valley Hospital after a long illness.

Born April 17, 1926, in San Francisco, he resided in Vacaville all of his life. He was employed by the State of California, Department of Corrections, California Medical Facility in Vacaville where he was a lieutenant. He was a member of C.C.P.O.A. as well as C.S.E.A.

Mr. Pulido is survived by his wife of 54 years, Angelina of Vacaville; daughters, Rebecca Lopez of Sonora and Dee Gilliland of Vacaville; brothers, Henry of Vacaville and Gerald of San Jose; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daguther, Patricia Pantazis in 1995.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Arrangements were handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Byron Sydney Flynt

A memorial service for Byron Sidney Flynt, 83, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. David Cavanaugh will officiate. Inurnment will be private at the IOOF Cemetery in Lake City, Colo.

Mr. Flynt died Oct. 24, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born March 11, 1917, in Houston, he lived in Fairfield for the past 51 years. He attended schools in Woodward, Okla., and went to Northwestern State University in Alva, Okla., from 1935 to 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 and left as a third-class petty officer. He moved to Fairfield in November 1949 and worked at Travis Air Force Base as an aircraft inspector for 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Fairfield Senior Center, NARFE, SIRS.

Mr. Flynt is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Robert Lozano of Windsor, and Susan and Floyd Ridenhour of Healdsburg; son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna of Escondido; granddaughters, Jessica and Melanie Ridenhour, both of Healdsburg, and Mette of Escondido; grandsons, Michael Lozano of Sacramento, San Lozano of Santa Rosa, and Gregory of Escondido; and great-granddaughter, Leah Lozano of Santa Rosa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, on Dec. 11, 1999.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa 95402.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Pearl O. Porter

A memorial service for Pearl O. Porter, 80, of Salinas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 in the Neighborhood Church "Port of Call Lounge," Castro Valley.

Mrs. Porter died Oct. 26, 2000 in her home after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 2, 1920 in Seattle, Wash., she has lived in Salinas since April of 1999, prior to that she lived in Vacaville from 1981 to 1995. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley, attended Calvary Baptist Church in Marina, was a graduate of the University of Washington. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and travel.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her son, Lance of El Macero; daughters, Linda Franklin of Vancover, Wash., and Janice Hamilton of Salinas; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, Henry in 1995.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hosanna Boys Ranch and Hosanna Girls Ranch, 9998 Crow Canyon Road, Castro Valley 94552.

Arrangements were handled by Struve and Laporte Chapel.

Maria Isabel Ruiz

A Mass of the Resurrection for Maria Isabel Ruiz, 69, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugenio Lopez will officiate. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Ruiz died Oct. 27, 2000, in her Vacaville home after a long illness.

Born Nov. 5, 1929, in Mexico, she lived in Vacaville for the past 33 years. She was a homemaker all her adult life.

Mrs. Ruiz is survived by her daughters, Maria J. Guererro of Vacaville and Velia of Vacaville; sons, Gustavo, Manuel, Martin and Jose, all of Vacaville, and Raul of Fairfield; and sister, Juana Bernal Navarro of Mexico. She also has 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Betty Marie Neely

A memorial service for Betty Marie Neely, 77, of American Canyon will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Lawn.

Mrs. Neely died Oct. 26, 2000, after a long illness.

Born Sept. 5, 1923, in Flint, Mich., she lived in American Canyon for 44 years. She was employed as an account clerk at California Maritime Academy for 25 years, and worked as a psychiatric technician at Napa State Hospital for nine years.

Mrs. Neely is survived by her daughters, Janet Coats of Vallejo and Kristen of Suisun; sons Scott of Vacaville and Harry of Wallace; grandchildren Kevin, Keith, Megan and Brandon; Steve and Greg Coats; Daniel Woods; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Harry Neely, in 1976.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402. Arrangements were handled by Skyview Memorial Lawn.

Myrle Leonore Morgan

At her request, there will be no services held for Myrle Leonore Morgan, 92, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan died Oct. 29, 2000, at Winsor House Convalescent Hospital in Vacaville.

Born Jan. 29, 1908, in Vacaville, she lived in Vacaville her entire life. She graduated from Vacaville High School in 1926 and the University of California Nursing School in 1929. She was a private duty nurse until her marriage in 1936. She later worked as the school nurse for the Vacaville Unified School District from 1956 to 1973. She was a lifelong member of the Vacaville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and did volunteer work for Vaca FISH and SPCA.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her son, David of Vacaville; nephew, Bill Perry of Vacaville; nieces, Betty Waller of Fairfield and Joy Shaffer of Yearington, Nev.; and two cousins, Ethel Sawtelle of Dixon and Mabrey Scott of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Morgan's memory to the Vacaville Christian Church, 66 Vine St., Vacaville, 95688.

Leonardo P. Yalong Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Leonardo P. Yalong Jr., 41, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Felipe Paraquya will officiate. Interment will follow at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Yalong died Oct. 28, 2000, following injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Born May 8, 1959, in Mandaluyoug, the Philippines, he resided in Fairfield for 14 years. He was a self-employed entertainer and starred in a one-man band. He worked part time as a wine server in the wine tasting room at the Niebaum Coppola Winery in Rutherford.

Mr. Yalong is survived by his wife of four years, Alma; children, Leonard and Alexander of Fairfield; mother, Milargros of Suisun City; sisters, Rebecca Del Rosario of Suisun, Josephine of the Philippines; brothers, Maila, Ed, Orly, Ronnie and Al, all of the Philippines; aunt, Luisa Escosio of Vallejo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. A Rosary recital is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.

Louise 'Jackie' Berry

A memorial service for Louise 'Jackie' Berry, 68, of Vacaville will be held back east at a later date.

Mrs. Berry died Oct. 27, 2000.

She was born Jan. 15, 1932. She was formerly of Boston, Mass., and recently retired to Vacaville. She worked in the nursing profession.

Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband, William; children, Phyllis Connolly of Massachusetts, Cheryl Weltman of Vacaville, Robert and John, both of Massachusetts and seven grandchildren.

The family requests that those wishing to make donations in Mrs. Berry's memory prepare holiday baskets for needy families.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Eugene Albert McGowan

A funeral for Eugene Albert McGowan, 94, of Anderson, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Pastor Wendell D. McGowan of River City Church of Redding will preside. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. McGowan died Oct. 27, 2000, in Anderson.

Born Dec. 21, 1905, in Sallisaw, Okla., he resided in Anderson for 3 years. He lived in Vacaville before moving to Anderson. He was a retired carpenter and a union member for 55 years.

Mr. McGowan is survived by his son, Dale E. of Anderson; grandchildren, Wendell and Charles McGowan, Sharon Liubakka and Bonnie Hollister, all of Redding, and Roger Curtis of Bennington, Okla.; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Marie Jo Curtis; grandchildren, Mike and Glen Curtis and his great-grandchild, Donelle.

There will be a visitation held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, In McCune Garden Chapel.
