Reva Vanetti

A funeral for Reva Vanetti, 80, of Dixon will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, Dixon.

Pastor Stewart Drake will preside. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Vanetti died Nov. 12, 2000, in Dixon.

Born May 28, 1920, in Lebanon, Mo., she lived in Dixon since 1936. She and her husband operated a dairy east of Dixon for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Vanetti is survived by her son, Robert of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Bill Edmiston of West Sacramento; daughter, Jeanie of Dixon; grandchildren, Shasta Barker of Dixon, Sharon Tomich of Sparks, Paula Knight of New Mexico, Brooks of Sacramento and Chris Pender of Washington; sister, Naomi Hefton of Missouri; brother, James Vernon of Woodland; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94589, or to: American Cancer Society, 1652 West Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

William F. Flagler

A memorial service for retired Col. William F. Flagler, 79, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Monday in McCune Garden Chapel. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Flagler died Nov. 15, 2000, of cancer in David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base.

Born April 29, 1921, in Rochester, N.Y., he lived in Vacaville for 35 years. He entered pilot training in July of 1942. Upon completion of training, he was sent to England where he flew more than 25 missions over Nazi Germany. During his distinguished career, he flew B-17s, B-25s and C-124s. Before his retirement, he was also the director of base personnel at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Mr. Flagler is survived by his wife, V. Ruth; son, William E. of Colorado; daughters, Diane S. Kelley of Arkansas and Happy Parker of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Don Davis of San Dimas; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ronald 'Ron' Mendoza

A funeral for Ronald "Ron" Mendoza, 61, of Suisun City will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Baptist Church.

Pastor Angel Ignacio will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Mendoza died Nov. 15, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Vallejo after a brief illness.

Born June 15, 1939, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he resided in Suisun City for 2 1/2 years. He worked as a pipe fitter at Mare Island Naval Shipyard and spent 12 years in the U.S. Army, serving twice in Vietnam where he received a medal. He was a member of the Sunfield Christian Community Church, Hui Hauoli (Hawaii Club).

Mr. Mendoza is survived by his wife, Betty of Suisun City; daughter, Cynthia of Suisun; son, Iva of Suisun; sister, Rose Campbell of Tacoma, Wash.; brother, Herbert of Puyallup, Wash.; two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Solano Valley Mortuary Chapel.

Jatinder Pal

A funeral for Jatinder Pal, 55, of El Sobrante, will be noon Sunday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Pal died Nov. 15, 2000, in San Leandro after a short illness.

Born April 1, 1945, in Hariana, District Hoshiarpur, India, he resided in El Sobrante for six years. Prior to that, he resided in Suisun City for six years. He worked for Caltrans in the Oakland office as an associate planner for the past 19 years.

Mr. Pal is survived by his wife, Vandana; daughters, Shivi and Shweta; and sons, Atul and Ashish, all of El Sobrante; sisters, Madhu Bala and Suman Lata, both of San Jose; brothers, Paul Devender of San Jose and Mohinder of India.

Alfred Vivanco Silva

A memorial service for Alfred Vivanco Silva, 80, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mobile Home Park.

Mr. Silva died Nov. 13, 2000, at his home in Fairfield.

Born Feb. 3, 1921, in Michoacan, Mexico, he lived in Fairfield for the past 12 years. He retired in 1989 and was very active in his Jehovah's Witnesses ministry.

Mr. Silva is survived by his daughter, Teri Tonnesen; sisters, Denna and Ruth; and brothers, Alberto, Jorge and Horacio. He also has 34 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita May, in 1983.

Arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society of Northern California.

Frances Mae Bowman

A graveside service for Frances Mae Bowman, 75, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield. Interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowman died Nov. 17, 2000, after a sudden illness.

Born Oct. 5, 1925, in Colton, she lived in Fairfield for 29 years.

She was president of the Nite Hawks and a member of the Fairfield Christian Reformed Church. She was a homemaker for 55 years.

Mrs. Bowman is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Debbie Bowman of Hercules; sisters Betty Costley of Carson City, Nev., Ruth Rounsville of Albuquerque, N.M., and Melva Davis of Palm Springs; grandaughter Racquel Loyd of Richmond; and grandson Harris Bowman of Hercules. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Travis Bowman, in 1996.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, CA 95402.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Ernesto J. Cordova, Sr.

A funeral service for Ernesto J. Cordova, Sr., 71, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.

The Rev. Sebastian Meyer will preside. Interment will be in Suisun Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Cordova died Nov. 16, 2000, in Contra Costa after a long illness.

Born April 28, 1929, in Pavia, Iloilo, Philippine Islands, he resided in Fairfield for 21 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, retiring in the grade of staff sergeant in 1977. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Mare Island U.S. Naval Shipyard as an electrician from 1977 to 1984. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family.

Mr. Cordova is survived by his wife, Remedios of Fairfield; sons, Ernesto of Sacramento, Erman Rey of Fairfax and Elfred of Fresno; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.

Arthur Wayne Blakley

A funeral for Arthur Wayne Blakley, 62, of Fairfield, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield. Inurnment will be private. Mr. Blakley died at home Nov. 17, 2000, after a courageous six-month battle with cancer.

Born May 16, 1938, in Bakersfield, he lived in Fairfield for 28 years. He was raised in Auburn and, following graduation from Placer High School, he attended Sierra College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a paratrooper.

Mr. Blakley worked in civil service for the U.S. Government for 35 years, as a pipefitter at Mare Island Naval Ship Yard in Vallejo for five years, and as a plumber at Travis Air Force Base for 30 years. He retired in 1998. He was an avid NASCAR fan and golfer. His greatest pleasure was his cherished grandchildren.

Mr. Blakley is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janet of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Teresa of Travis Air Force Base, Larry and Erika of Germany, and Wayne and Mary of Fairfield; mother Bertha of Yuba City; sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia Nyemaster of Mokelumne Hill, Gail and John Johnson of Yuba City, Sheila and Russ Miller of Yuba City, and Gary Wiesz of Colfax; stepmother Evelyn of Auburn; and grandchildren Alex, Austin, Eric, Julia and Stephanie.

He was preceeded in death by his father, William, and brother, Gerald.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Gino LaMiranda

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated for Gino LaMiranda, 80, of Vacaville, at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville. The Rev. William Feeser will officiate. Interment will follow at Rockville Cemetery in Suisun.

Mr. LaMiranda died Nov. 18, 2000, after a sudden illness.

Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Sacramento, he lived in Vacaville and Fairfield his entire life. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army. He was an automotive sales person for 55 years, employed at Chet Monez Ford in Fairfield, then Woodard Chevrolet, Fairfield, and most recently, Green Valley Ford, Fairfield.

He was an usher at St. Mary's Catholic Church for 40 years, a former member of the Lions Club and a member of the F&AM Lodge.

He was affectionately known as "Gino Bambino" and enjoyed telling a good joke.

Mr. LaMiranda is survived by his goddaughter, Lisa L. Evans of Vacaville and son, David LaMiranda of Fairfield. He is also survived by a multitude of good friends and many people who loved and respected him.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, Vacaville. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. LaMiranda's name to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 549 Merchant St., Vacaville, 95688.

Arrangements are being handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Angelina Rodriguez

A funeral service for Angelina Rodriguez, 55, of Fairfield will be 2 today at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Umberto Penunuri will officate. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Fairfield.

Mrs. Rodriguez died Nov. 17, 2000, after a long illness.

Born May 27, 1945, in Canada De Caracheo, Guanajuato, Mexico, she lived in Fairfield for 25 years. She previously resided in Fremont. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Church, a member of Catholic Cursillo Movement, Holy Spirit Bible Group and Holy Spirit Prayer Group. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her husband, Raul of Fairfield; daughters Martha Rodriguez-Hernandez and Janet of Fairfield; son Ernesto of Fairfield; father Guadalupe Bustamante of Fremont; grandmother Ma de Jesus Gonzales of Fremont; sisters Celia Vera of Salinas, Dolores Vera of Fairfield, Ma Elena Martinez of Fremont, and Emelia Carrillo of Williamsburg, Va.; and brothers Isidro Bustamante of Salinas, and Luis, Guadalupe and Francisco, all of Fremont.

A vigil service was held Sunday at Holy Spirit Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Gail Lee Reifsteck

A funeral for Gail Lee Reifsteck, 51, of Suisun, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Pastor Ben Randle will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Reifsteck died Nov. 18, 2000, after a long illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1949, in Erie, Pa., she lived in Suisun for 19 years. She was a homemaker for the past 29 years, and a mother for 28 years. She earned an associate's degree in social work. Her hobby was pets, especially cats.

Mrs. Reifsteck is survived by her son, Lt. Lincoln Reifsteck, U.S. Navy, of Alexandria, Va.; mother Margery Chaffin of Hughes, Ark.; life partner Lee Root of Suisun; sister Corinne Cote of Nikiski, Ala.; and niece Kat London of Reseda.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to NorthBay Hospice and Bereavement Services, 1300 Oliver Rd., Suite 210, Fairfield, CA 94533.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Johanna Reil

A graveside service for Johanna Reil, 89, of Vacaville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will follow.

Mrs. Reil died Nov. 19, 2000, in Winsor House Convalescent Hospital, Vacaville after a long illness.

Born Oct. 7, 1911, in Woensdrech, Netherlands. She moved to the area 23 years ago. She was a homemaker for 57 years.

Mrs. Reil is survived by her husband, Henry of Vacaville; three sisters and one brother all from the Netherlands; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
