Pearl Cecil Ziegler

A memorial service for Pearl Cecil Ziegler, 95, of Vacaville will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Ziegler died Nov. 17, 2000.

Born March 9, 1905, in Hoskins, Neb., she lived in Illinois, Arizona and California. She taught in country schools in Nebraska and following her marriage, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ziegler is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Val and Lois Dean of Chico, Delwyn and Claire of Vacaville, Billy and Marilyn of Burbank; son, Orlen of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roger Anderson of Vacaville; sister, Verna Swihart of Palatine, Ill., 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents and three brothers and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice or the Glaucoma Research Foundation, 200 Pine St., Suite 200, San Francisco, 94104.

Ennis Garnett Austin

A funeral for Ennis Garnett Austin, 31, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. at the Third Baptist Church, San Francisco.

The Rev. Amos Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Olivet Memorial Park, Colma.

Mr. Austin died Nov. 15, 2000, in his home after an accident.

Born Jan. 3, 1969, in San Francisco, he lived in Fairfield for 2 years.

Mr. Austin is survived by his spouse, Justine of Fairfield; daughters, Carmen and Christina of Fairfield; parents, Pamela Sue Smith of Fairfield and Roy Lemmon of San Francisco; brothers, Aaron, Roy and Marcus of Fairfield; grandparents, Alvia, Edith P. and Garnett of San Francisco and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in Bayview Mortuary, San Francisco.

Dorothy R. Couch

A memorial service for Dorothy R. Couch, 77, of Roseburg, Ore., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1030 Redwood St., Vallejo.

Pastor William Kant will officiate. A luncheon for family and friends will be served following the service. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Couch died Nov. 18, 2000.

Born June 14, 1923, in Loyal, Wis., she grew up in Aurora, Wash. She was a Fairfield resident for 48 years. She was the head baker with the Fairfield-Suisun School District lunch program until she retired in 1978. She enjoyed crocheting, and being with family and friends and traveling with them. She looked forward to attending church every Sunday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Vallejo.

Mrs. Couch and her husband, John T. Couch Jr., moved to Roseburg in September, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Linus Oaks Retirement Residence.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Lloyd Stepp; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Sharon; grandchildren, Christine, Timothy and Scott; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Courtney and Maverick; sister, Lois Wells; sister and brother-in-law, Inez and George Kakalecik; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Doris Dittner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva Dittner, and brothers, Robert, Lavern Bud, and Maurice Dittner.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Vallejo or a charity of their choice.

Arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Chapel of the Roses, Roseburg, Ore.

Helen Louella Watrous Little

A memorial service for Helen Louella Watrous Little, 86, of Vacaville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Epiphany Episcopal Church.

Father Stephen Leonetti will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Little died Nov. 18, 2000, in Winsor House after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 9, 1914, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she resided at Winsor House. She worked at the Bygone Shoppe for many years. She was one of the original Shredded Wheat babies.

Mrs. Little is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Millie Watrous of Vacaville; two nieces and one nephew.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Emily Lucille Madronich

A Christian Mass will be held for Emily Lucille Madronich, 77, of Suisun at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Madronich died Nov. 18, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Vallejo after a short illness.

Born Oct. 11, 1923, in Calumet, Mich., he lived in Suisun for 14 years. He worked as a supervisor in retail sales for 22 years before retirement in 1984. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Suisun Senior Center.

Mrs. Madronich is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Villolta of Bremerton, Wash.; son, Rudolph of Fairfield; sisters, Rose Jackovick of Royal Oak, Mich. and Frances Soine of Livonia, Mich.; brother, Frank Bolf of Laurium, Mich.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with a rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

Martha Elizabeth 'Mickey' McCoy

There will be no services held for Martha Elizabeth 'Mickey' McCoy, 81, of Vacaville. Burial will be private.

Mrs. McCoy died Nov. 17, 2000, in Vacaville.

Born Jan. 21, 1919, in Limon, Colo., she lived in Vacaville for 41 years. She worked several years at the Nut Tree Restaurant. She was a member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church and worked in their thrift store for over 10 years. She received a certificate of appreciation for outstanding service to the John McBride Senior Center and the senior citizen's community. She was the wife of Sherman 'Mac' McCoy for 50 years, who was a direct descendant of the famous feuding families, McCoys and Hatfields.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene J. and Marsha; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Donnie Saar; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Artemio V. Mendoza

A Mass for Artemio V. Mendoza, 82, of Winters will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Michael Downey will preside. Inurnment will follow at Fairmont Memorial Park, Fairfield.

Mr. Mendoza died Nov. 19, 2000, in his home.

Born Oct. 2, 1918, in the Philippines in lived in Winters for 2 years. He served with the U.S. Army for 30 years and retired as staff sergeant. He most recently worked in security for the U.S. Sales Corp. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church and El Shaddi.

Mr. Mendoza is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Winters; sons, Rommel of Winters, Eduardo of Los Angeles, Romeo Natan of Suisun, Artermio Jr., Rodolfo, Fernando and Roel, all of the Philippines; daughters, Julieta and Amalia, both of New Jersey, Lilibeth Yumang and Josie, both of the Philippines; Rosalie and Rowena Natan, both of Suisun and Mina Pabustan of the Philippines.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

G.W. 'Pat' Patocka

There will be services held for G.W. 'Pat' Patocka, 88, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be in San Joaquin National Cemetery in Gustine.

Mr. Patocka died Nov. 20, 2000, in Vacaville.

Born Feb. 22, 1912, in Erwin, Pa., he lived in Vacaville for 4 years. He was an auto parts sales person for Ford Motor Company.

Mr. Patocka is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Herb Jones of Vacaville and Sherri and Chuck Parks of Mill Town, Ind.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Simon 'Bud' Weatherford

At the request of Simon 'Bud' Weatherford, 79, of Vacaville, there will be no services held. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Weatherford died Nov. 17, 2000, in Vacaville.

Born Sept. 7, 1921, in Blufton, Ark., he lived in Vacaville for 10 years. He worked for AT&T as a cable slicer for over 30 years. He was a rock hound enthusiast and was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Weatherford is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Williams of Fremont; daughter, Nancy Boles of Vacaville; grandchildren, Patrice Green of New Castle, Rebecca da Costa of Hayward, Adam Boles of Vacaville, Amanda Boles of Vacaville, dear friend, Michael Metz of New Castle; great-grandchildren, Robert da Costa of Hayward, Patrick and Sarah Green of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery.

Contributions can be made in Mr. Weatherford's memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Derrick Desedario Campos

A funeral for Derrick Desedario Campos, 14, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Father Felipe Paraguya will preside. Interment will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Campos died Nov. 19, 2000 in Dixon as a result of an automobile accident.

Born Jan. 22, 1986, in Sacramento, he lived in Fairfield for 11 years. He was a student at Green Valley Middle School.

Mr. Campos is survived by his grandparents, Guadalupe Millan and Margaret Millan-Tafoya of Fairfield; a sister, Salina Rangel of Fairfield; brothers, Dominic of Fairfield, Sal Trejo of Fairfield, Danny Jr. and De Angelo of Sacramento; aunt and uncle, Gonzalo and Hope Millan of Reno.; and an aunt, Mary Trejo of Sacramento.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Baker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund established at the First Northern Bank, attn: Gwyn Runnels, 1455 Oliver Road, Fairfield 94533; acct. no. 71108557.

John Dewey Fehd

A funeral for John Dewey Fehd, 101, of Vacaville, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vaca Hills Chapel. Vacaville Lodge No. 134 will officiate, followed by military rites from Travis Air Force Base.

Born March 5, 1899 in Winterset, Iowa, Mr. Fehd died Nov. 21, 2000 ,at Vaca Valley Hospital.

He attended school in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and joined the Army National Guard while still in high school. After graduating in 1917, he was transferred to active duty in the 168th Infantry, known as the Rainbow Division. He earned medals from several battles during World War I.

After the war, Fehd returned to Oskaloosa and attended college. He moved to Pasadena in 1942 and to Vacaville in 1951. He was an accountant for the Vacaville Unified School District until his retirement.

He was an accomplished banjo and mandolin player and a member of the Masonic Tri-Luminar Lodge No. 18 in Oskaloosa.

Mr. Fehd is survived by his wife, Rose Ella; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and John Woodfin of Oakland; son and daughter-in-law, John and Fay of Monterey; and, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Vaca Hills Chapel.

Joseph Garcia

A Catholic prayer service for Joseph Garcia, 89, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Monday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home. The Rev. William Feeser will officiate. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a rosary recital at 7 p.m.

Mr. Garcia died Nov. 22, 2000, at VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

The lifelong Vacaville resident was born on Aug. 18, 1911. He worked for 37 years at Basic Vegetable in maintenance and supervisory positions. He was a member of the McBride Senior Center and a former member of the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carmen of Vacaville; daughters, Felicia Matta, Rosalie Vasquez, and Joann Yanuska, all of Vacaville; sons, George of Vacaville and Frank of Elk Grove; and a sister, Dolores Lopez of Vacaville. He also has 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
