Melvin Clifford (Jeff) Norman

A funeral for Melvin Clifford (Jeff) Norman, 85, of Vacaville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in McCune Garden Chapel.

The Moose Lodge of Vacaville will preside. Interment will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Norman died Nov. 26, 2000, in Vallejo.

Born Aug. 23, 1915, in Meyers, Ark., he was a longtime resident of Vacaville. He worked for Basic Vegetable in Vacaville for 22 years. He was a member of the Vacaville Moose Lodge for 45 years. He married his wife, Thema Beatrice, on Aug. 4, 1935, in Meyers. Early in their marriage, the couple lived in Seymoure, Texas, and moved to Vacaville in 1949. He enjoyed collecting Avon bottles, gardening and spending time with his faithful pet, Lady.

Mr. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Thema; children, Erma Janette Chenvert of Fairfield, Melvin Melloy of Coolidge, Texas, Billy Wade of Vacaville, Anita Kay Young of Ruston, La., Cecil Lynn of Vacaville and Elvin Lee of Vacaville; siblings, Audean Altier of Vacaville and Aline Nichols of Pikeville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in McCune Garden Chapel.

The family requests donations be made to the donor's favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

Alice 'Clark' Vane

There will be no services held for Alice "Clark" Vane, 86, of Vacaville. Interment will be in Hemet next to her deceased husband.

Mrs. Vane died Nov. 21, 2000, in Fairfield.

Born May 13, 1914, in Omaha, Neb., she resided in Vacaville and Fairfield board and care facilities. She was formerly of Hemet and worked as a bookkeeper in Omaha, Neb. She was a homemaker for many years in both Roseville and Hemet. She was a member of the Blind Center in Hemet.

Mrs. Vane is survived by her niece, Sandy and her husband Ron Harris of Vacaville; Brian and Steven Mikalis of San Francisco; niece, Sharolyn Stott of Wilmington, N.C.; Mike and Janine Tschantz-Hahn of California, Jennie and Jeff Stott of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Clark in 1981, and her second husband, Alex Vane in 1987.

Contributions may be made in Alice's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Ste. 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Edna F. Wink

A funeral for Edna F. Wink, 96, of Fairfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield. Interment will be in Suisun Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Wink died Nov. 23, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born Jan. 21, 1904, in Little York, Ind., she lived in Fairfield for 50 years. She was a homemaker for 35 years. She was an avid gardeners as well as a loving mother, grandmother and caregiver to the local community. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Wink is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and John Leib of Fairfield; daughters, Helen M. Lang of Suisun and Carol Ann Joseph of Davis; sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Donna of Suisun and Frank and Betty of Fairfield; 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Fred C.; a son, Donald F.; and, a daughter, Mary F. Trivitt.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran School, 2075 Dover Ave., Fairfield, 94533.

Orva A. Bird, Jr.

There will be no services for Orva A. Bird, Jr., 71 of Castroville. Inurnment will be in the City Cemetery, Alexander City.

Mr. Bird died Nov. 24, 2000, in Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 27, 1929, in Greeley, Colo., he lived in Monterey County for 11 years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and served during both Vietnam and the Korean War. He was an active volunteer with Monterey County Parks and Recreation Department and Monterey County PAL Program. He enjoyed watching the birds and animal life in Elkhorn Slough area.

Mr. Bird is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty L. of the family house; son, Len of Vacaville; sisters, Carol Meyer of Aurora, Colo. and Janet McMurry of Estes Park, Colo.; two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ta-Linda Anderson in February 2000.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Monterey County SPCA, P.O. Box 3058, Monterey, 93942 or to the Monterey County Sheriff's Dept. PAL Program, 1200 Aguajito Road, Monterey, 93940.

Arrangements were handled by Healey Mortuary, Salinas.

Alma K. Curran

A funeral for Alma K. Curran, of Hercules will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Martin Bergstrom will officiate. Interment will be private in Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Curran died Nov. 26, 2000, in her daughter's home.

She was born on Aug. 31 in Lincoln, Neb. She lived in Hercules for 20 years. She worked as a juvenile officer for the Richmond Police Department for 8 years and was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a resident of Richmond for 20 years and a resident of Fairfield for the past 4 months. She loved fishing, camping and the outdoors and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Curran is survived by her son, Brian F. of Hercules; daughter and son-in-law, Cyndi and Randy Williamson of Fairfield; grandchildren, Hollie and Casey Williamson of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Marjorie Williams Kellogg

There will be no services for Marjorie Williams Kellogg, 83, of Santa Rosa. Inurnment will be with her husband at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.

Mrs. Kellogg died Nov. 12, 2000, in her home.

Born May 27, 1917, in New York, she lived in Sonoma County for 21 years. In earlier years, she taught English overseas for three years, worked with the American Red Cross and was a Realtor in Marin County. In later years, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Kellogg is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James P. Jr. and Wendy Wasserman-Kellogg of Vacaville; daughter, Molly D. Roeder of Concord; grandchildren, Logan and Rebecca of Vacaville and Wendy Roeder; sister, Herminie Gaskins of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; nieces and nephews, Lydia King of Mt. Laurel, Kelly Gaskins of Bristol, Pa., Elizabeth McKelvey of Lansdale, Pa. and Fred Gaskins of Douglassville, Pa.

Donations may be made to Canine Companions for Independence or Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society of Northern California, Santa Rosa.

Lillie Velma Nelson

A private family service for Lillie Velma Nelson, 92, of Vacaville will be held later in Railroad Flats. Inurnment will be private.

Ms. Nelson died Nov. 27, 2000, in Vacaville after a short illness.

Born Aug. 28, 1908, in Gridley, Texas, she lived in Vacaville for 3 years. She worked in the retail industry for all her life. She enjoyed going to Reno, knitting and crocheting.

Ms. Nelson is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Alice of Railroad Flats and Bobby and Marge of Redding; daughter, Lillian Stalcup of Vacaville; grandson and his wife, Stephen and Karen Stalcup of Vacaville; great-grandchildren, Matthew Lee and Kevin Stalcup of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Nelson's memory to the Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94589.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.

Frank D. W. Morgan

A funeral for Frank D. W. Morgan, 87, of Fairfield will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Chapel in Fairfield. Pastor John Pedota will preside.

Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Morgan died Nov. 22, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center.

Born on Oct. 10, 1913, in Way Cross, Ga., he resided in Fairfield for 44 years.

He was in the United States Army from 1942 to 1963. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base before retiring as a sergeant first class. Mr. Morgan also worked for the Vacaville Unified School District for 14 years.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the American Legion #182, Recreation Department of Fairfield, booster club member of Vanden, Fairfield and Armijo high schools. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry of Suisun and Philip of Fairfield; sister, Stozell Collins of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Ida M. Nelson

A funeral for Ida M. Nelson, 100, of Fairfield will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Pastor David Hamilton will preside. Interment will be private in Tulocay Cemetery, Napa.

Mrs. Nelson died Nov. 26, 2000, in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born April 3, 1900, in Warner, S.D., she lived in Fairfield for 10 years, Napa County from 1941 to 1991. She worked as a teacher in South Dakota for 2 years before marriage, then was a homemaker for the next 70 years. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer of Napa. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and being a church volunteer.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Norval and Suzanne of Fairfield; grandsons, Martin of Danville, Eric of Vacaville, Chris of Fairfield, Don Simpson of Pasadena and Douglas Simpson of Malibu; granddaughters, Peggy Yockey of Rocklin, Patsy Teesdale of Santa Ana and Teresa Simpson of El Segundo; 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church, 1796 Elm St., Napa, 94558 or charity of choice.

Neva Jane Sevigny

A funeral for Neva Jane Sevigny, 67, of Fairfield will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St. in Fairfield. Pastor Stan Sanderson will preside.

Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Sevigny died Nov. 27, 2000, at her home following a short battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 16, 1933, in Upland, she had lived in Fairfield for 10 years.

She had worked as a program director for the American Red Cross in Los Angeles for 12 years and was later an investment coordinator for Wells Fargo Bank in Stockton. She was an apartment manager in Fairfield and Pleasant Hill for 10 years before retiring.

Mrs. Sevigny loved to dance and read, and especially enjoyed traveling throughout Mexico.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Kenneth Dyla of Yorba Linda and Sharalyn and Scot Shreve of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Chris McCargar of Fairfield; and grandchildren Erin Dyla of Yorba Linda, Clint Griffin, Alicia Shreve and Ashely Shreve, all of Coeur D'Alene, and Clifton McCargar and Sean Rubadue, both of Fairfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Gregory Edward 'Tiny' Tomson

A funeral for Gregory Edward "Tiny" Tomson, 45, of Vacaville will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Fremont Central Church of the Nazarene, 4674 Mowry Ave. in Fremont. The Rev. Ed Bass will preside.

Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Tomson died Nov. 23, 2000, in Vacaville. Born June 24, 1955, in Hayward, he had lived in Vacaville for 13 years.

He worked for United Airlines since 1984 and was a shop steward of the International Aerospace Machinist Union. He enjoyed spending time on his computer.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of Vacaville; sons, Justin and Troy, both of Vacaville; parents, Russell and Louise of Fremont; a brother, Alan of Fremont; a sister, Carol of Fremont; and a niece and two nephews, Jacob of Fremont, and Felisha and Jason Mock of Fairfield.
