Jennabel Martha Hall, 76, of Seaside, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
She was born icon in Monterey and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and knitted and donated clothing and bedding items for the Salvation Army and American Red Cross.

Memberships: St. Francis Xavier Church.

Survivors: Sons, Steven James of Seaside and Theodore "Ted" Thomas III of Oakley; daughters, Linda Carmichael of Castroville and Carol Elarmo of Monterey; brother, James Jarrett of Salinas; sister, Maxine Menezes of Del Rey Oaks; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: Family services have been held.

Arrangements: Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey.

Dorothy R. Watson

Dorothy R. Watson, 88, of Santa Cruz, died Saturday, July 28, 2001.
She was born icon and raised in Salinas and moved to Santa Cruz in 1968, when her husband retired. She attended Sacred Heart Convent, Notre Dame, for five years and graduated from the San Francisco School of Dentistry. She worked for 14 years with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in advertising. She and her husband were world travelers and in the 1970s opened a tour office for the Mid-County Seniors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Watson, in 1987.

Memberships: Board of Live Oak Senior Center, president of the Santa Cruz Art League and founder of Lils (wives of Sirs).

Services: No services planned.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements: Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

James Vincent Plaskett

James Vincent Plaskett, 85, of Lockwood, died of natural causes, Monday, July 30, 2001, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.
He was born icon in Jolon and most recently lived with his daughter, Faye, and son-in-law, Gary McCaskill, in Salinas. Before his retirement at age 50, he ranched and farmed in Lockwood, where he was a longtime resident. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and play cribbage. He was an avid rodeo and professional bull rider fan. His children and grandchildren were most important to him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis, second wife, Virginia, and daughter, Janice.

Survivors: Son, Eugene (Gwen) Plaskett of Greenfield; daughters, Joyce (David) Perales and Faye E. (Gary) McCaskill, both of Salinas; sisters, Mary Gillett, Kelly Riley, Irene Sans and Alma Lewis; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Whitehurst Grim Funeral Chapel, 429 Bassett, King City.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the mortuary chapel.

Burial: Following at King City cemetery.

Albert L. Smith

Salinas

Albert L. Smith, 58, of Salinas, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Lincoln County, Kansas, he lived in Salinas for 51 years and worked as a shop supervisor for Fontes-Comgrow Inc. He was a graduate of Salinas High School in 1961. He also graduated from Hartnell College in 1963 and from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1966.

Military service: U.S. Army during the Vietnam War,

Survivors: Mother, Violet Smith of Salinas; brothers, Mike Smith of Salinas and Rex Smith of Chico; sisters, Mary Smith of Salinas and Yvonne Bowers of Sedalia, Ky.; and many nephews and nieces

Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel in Salinas.

Vigil: 7 p.m. at Struve and Laporte.

Services: Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church in Salinas; military honors to follow.

Inurnment: Ashes will be buried at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials: Leukemia Society of America, 832 Folsom St., 9th Floor, San Francisco, 94107-1142.

Aaron R. Gutierrez

Aaron R. Gutierrez, 19, of Salinas, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in Salinas after a shooting.
He was born icon in Salinas and was a lifelong resident. He enjoyed building model cars. His brother, Victor M. Gutierrez, preceded him in death.

Survivors: Parents, Mario and Adela Gutierrez of Salinas; brothers, Santana R. Gutierrez, Ceasar R. Gutierrez and Bryan Y. Gutierrez, all of Salinas; paternal grandparents, Carmen and Guadalupe Gomez of Yahulica, Jalisco, Mexico; and maternal grandparents, Santana Rodriguez of Nochistlan, Zacatecas, Mexico, and Maria Rodriguez of Yahulica.

Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 16, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.

Rosary: 6 p.m. today, Aug. 16, at the mortuary chapel.

Services: Final visitation at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the mortuary chapel followed by procession to Sacred Heart Church, 22 Stone St., Salinas, for the funeral Mass at 2 p.m.

Burial: Following at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 768 Abbott St., Salinas.

Donna Lynn Losada

SALINAS

Donna Lynn Losada, 51, of Salinas, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at Natividad Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born icon in Gilroy and lived in Salinas the rest of her life.

She attended Madonna del Sasso School as a young girl, graduated from Notre Dame High School and Hartnell College. She cared for all animals and had a special affection for her cats.

Memberships: Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church.

Survivors: Mother, Edna Alba Losada of Salinas; brother, David Losada of Aptos; sister, Linda Gregory of Sacramento; one niece, a nephew, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20, at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Home, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas.

Vigil Service: 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20 at the mortuary chapel.

Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church.

Burial: Entombment will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas.

Memorials: In honor of Donna and her beloved cat, "Cujo," donations can be made to the SPCA, P.O. Box 3058, Monterey, CA 93942.

Frank Stogden, Jr.

Frank Stogden, Jr., 52, of Salinas, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born icon in Salinas and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from North Salinas High School in 1966 and worked as a systems technician for Pacific Bell. An avid 49ers and Giants fan, he coached Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football. He also was a volunteer with Monterey County Special Olympics. He loved his children and was a very devoted family man.

Military: Air Force during Vietnam War.

Survivors: Wife, Susie Stogden of Salinas; daughter, Stacy Sigsworth of Wisconsin; sons, Martin Fuentes and Aaron Carrillo, both of Salinas; mother, Natalie Stogden of Salinas; father, Carlos Ramos of Salinas; sisters, Lydia Borden, Maria Stogden, Veronica Rivera, all of Salinas, and Sandra Stogden of Alaska; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the mortuary chapel.

Disposition: Inurement will be held at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 768 Abbott St., Salinas.

Arrangements: Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.

Memorials: Monterey County Special Olympics, 620 Lighthouse Ave., Suite 110, Pacific Grove, 93950.

Barbara Ann Baucom

Barbara Ann Baucom, 59, of Salinas, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, in her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born icon in Eureka and resided in Salinas. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed her monthly card games with friends and seeing her grandchildren.

Survivors: Husband, Donald Baucom; mother, Muriel Keoppel; son, Aaron Baucom; daughter, Lori Terry; grandchildren, Kayla Terry, Nicholas Terry, Spencer Baucom and Emma Baucom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: A private family service was held.

Memorials: Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.

Arrangements: Lori Terry.

Stewart Franklin Little

Stewart Franklin Little, 63, of Yuba City, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at his home.
He was born icon in Salinas and lived in Yuba City for two years. He worked in procurement with the Sacramento County DA's office for two years.

Military service: Retired sgt. major, U.S. Army, following 30 years of service, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Marion Little of Yuba City; daughters, Necole Bower of Syracuse, N.Y., and Nancy Edmonson of Sacramento; son, Frank Little Jr. of Yuba City; and three grandchildren.

Services: Private services will be held.

Memorials: National Forest Service and California Fish and Game.

Arrangements: Ullrey Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory, 817 Almond St., Yuba City.

Manuel S. Santa

Manuel S. Santa, 72, of Salinas, died of complications of cancer Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born icon in Cedros Cascallio Faial, the Azores, and lived in Monterey County for 41 years. He was a nurseryman with Monterey Greenhouse for 25 years. He came to the United States in 1959, working for a dairy in Soledad when he first arrived. He enjoyed gardening, exercise, dancing, sports, caring for his animals and family barbecues.

Military service: Portuguese Army for four years.

Memberships: Sacred Heart parish, Luso American and IDES.

Survivors: wife of 31 years, Maria C. Santa of Salinas; son, Randy C. Santa of Ann Arbor, Mich.; sisters, Anna Larago of Taunton, Mass., and Helen Silveira and Lucia Peixoto, both of Salinas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at Whitehurst Muller Funeral Service, East Alisal Street and Pajaro Street, Salinas.

Vigil service: 7 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at the mortuary.

Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Sacred Heart Church, 14 Stone St., Salinas.

Burial: Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 768 Abbott St., Salinas.

Connie Mae Taueetia

Connie Mae Taueetia, 52, of Greenfield, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula after an illness.
She was born icon in Louisville, Ky., and lived in the Salinas Valley for 17 years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking trips to the beach and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Marco Taueetia.

Survivors: Husband, Malae Taueetia of Greenfield; daughters, Anna Matias of Los Angeles, Corinna Mamaia of Seaside, and Sarah Lopez and Carol Taueetia, both of Greenfield; sons, Phillip Taueetia, Stanley Taueetia and Robert Taueetia, all of Salinas, and Tim Taueetia of Greenfield; two brothers; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the mortuary chapel.

Burial: Following at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 768 Abbott St., Salinas.
