Michael D. Amaral

Feb. 1, 1952 -- April 16, 2000

Michael Dennis Amaral, 48, of Los Banos died April 16 at Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Amaral was a native of Patterson. He lived in the Merced County area eight years. He was a mechanic and welder for 10 years, lastly for Tri Valley Growers; he belonged to Teamsters union Local 386. He was a member of the Westside Country Dancers and a former member of the Circle 8'ers. He also was a former member of the Westside Wagon Wheelers, Crows Landing, and the Circle R Squares, Hilmar. He formerly belonged to Moose Lodge 1679, Turlock.

Mr. Amaral is survived by his wife, Shirley Amaral of Los Banos; children, Paul Amaral and Tashina Amaral, both of Los Banos, Chris Amaral of Minnesota and Dorothy Amaral of Turlock; parents, Manuel and Joyce Amaral of Newman; brothers, Anthony Amaral of Hilmar, Dennis Amaral of Patterson and David Amaral of British Columbia, Canada; and two grandchildren.

The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Audrey E. White

Nov. 24, 1932 -- April 19, 2000

Audrey E. White, 67, of Modesto died Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center.

Mrs. White was a lifelong resident of Modesto. She was a 25- year employee of Del Monte Cannery; she was retired. She was a member of First Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband, O.C. White of Modesto; children, Richard Gaines, Glen Gaines, James Gaines, Curtis Cyrus, Zariah White, Celeste Elaine Taylor and Simone Sheppard, all of Modesto, and Sandra Behin of Los Angeles; sister, Catherine Strickland of Modesto; and 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at noon Monday at Second Baptist Church. Private inurnment. Visitation will be prior to service. Evins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne Golyer

March 6, 1940 -- Feb. 26, 2000

Jeanne Golyer, 59, of Tracy died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

Mrs. Golyer was a native of Buckeye, Ariz. She lived in Tracy 21 years. She was a manager for Tracy Mini Storage.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Golyer of Tracy; children, Teri Staggs of Bellflower, Rob Golyer of Anaheim, Billy Golyer of Fullerton and Candy Golyer of Pocatello, Idaho; and six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Fry Memorial Chapel, Tracy. Private burial.

Mary L. Hayes

June 15, 1934 -- Feb. 27, 2000

Mary Lou Hayes, 65, of Modesto died Sunday at Evergreen Convalescent Hospital.

Miss Hayes was a native of Albany, N.Y. She lived in Modesto seven years. She owned Mary Lou's Books in Gustine and later owned Mary Lou's Travelers Store in the Santa Nella Mission. She previously worked with her brother in real estate in Gustine. She was the first president of the Santa Nella Chamber of Commerce. She belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her mother, Mary E. Hayes of Modesto; and brothers, William J. Hayes of Modesto and Patrick L. Hayes of Chino.

The rosary will be at 8 p.m. today at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs. A Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Jerilyn R. Molinari

Feb. 12, 1948 -- Feb. 26, 2000

Jerilyn Rae Molinari, 52, of Sonora died Saturday at her home.

Mrs. Molinari was a native of LeRoy, Minn. She lived in Sonora 11 years. She was a nurse for 24 years and worked for Tuolumne General Hospital at the primary care clinic for 11 years. She owned a small antiques business, Prudence's Pantry, and was part-owner with her husband of Mountain Alarm.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Molinari of Sonora; sons, Joseph O'Brien of Concord and Daniel O'Brien of Daly City; stepson, TJ Molinari of Sonora; mother, Joan Blay of Truman, Minn.; brothers, Terry Cassem of Champlin, Minn., and Ardy Cassem of Howell, Mich.; and sisters, Sherry Essie of Watertown, Minn., and Dannette Logan of Frontenac, Minn.

A memorial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home.

Lida T. Bispo

March 30, 1907 -- April 5, 2000

Lida Thelma Bispo, 93, of Patterson died Wednesday at Colony Park Care Center, Modesto.

Mrs. Bispo was a native of Flores, Azores. She lived in Patterson nine years. She was a homemaker. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Geri Azevedo of Modesto; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hillview Funeral Chapel, Patterson. Private service and burial. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tenn. 38101.

George L. Merton

March 15, 1913 -- March 1, 2000

George L. Merton, 86, of Modesto died Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Merton was a native of Meriden, N.H. He lived in Modesto 35 years. He was a machinist for Modesto Machine Shop.

He is survived by his son, George J. Merton of Modesto; and one grandchild.

No public services. The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements.

Richard H. Whitman

Feb. 27, 1948 -- Feb. 27, 2000

Richard Henry Whitman, 52, of Hughson died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

Mr. Whitman was a native of Garden City, Kan. He lived in Hughson six months and previously lived in Lodi. He was an equipment salesman for 30 years, most recently for Toro Co.

He is survived by his son, Alex Whitman of Stanwood, Wash.; mother, Donna L. Whitman of Escalon; and brothers, Randy Whitman of Kingwood, Texas, Ron Whitman of Gustine and Bob Whitman of Somerset, Ky.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Hills Ferry Cemetery, Newman. Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service, Modesto, in charge of arrangements.

Deryl F. Bondshu

July 26, 1923 -- March 1, 2000

Deryl F. Bondshu, 76, of Modesto died Wednesday at Doctors Medical Center.

Mr. Bondshu was a native of Merced. He lived in Modesto 76 years. He was a manager for Ed J. Lyng Co. He was a member of the SOS Club and he belonged to the Handball Association. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, as well as Knights of Columbus 1986 and UPEC 52. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; he belonged to American Legion Post 74.

He is survived by his wife, Eva M. Andrade Bondshu of Modesto; children, Jerome Bondshu, Joan Bondshu and Anne Bondshu Hudson, all of Modesto, and Eric Bondshu of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The rosary will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs. A Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

Rosemary H. Perez-Trejo

Sept. 14, 1953 -- Feb. 28, 2000

Rosemary H. Perez-Trejo, 46, of Tracy died Monday at San Joaquin General Hospital, French Camp.

Mrs. Perez-Trejo was a native of Del Rio, Texas. She lived in Tracy 12 years. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Noe M. Trejo of Tracy; children, Sue Tristan and Bert Aguilar Jr., both of Stockton, Sally Nunes of Oceano, and Rosa C. Trejo, Lisa Marie Trejo, Noe Alex and Olivia M. Trejo, all of Tracy; parents, Severo and Basilisa Perez of Tracy; brothers, Frank Perez of Modesto and Daniel Perez of El Centro; sisters, Stella Ruiz of Tracy and Nadine Perez of El Centro; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fry Memorial Chapel. Private interment. No visitation.

Lois C. Kamstra

April 4, 1946 -- Feb. 28, 2000

Lois Christine Kamstra, 53, of Stockton died Monday at her home.

Miss Kamstra was a native of Escalon. She lived in Stockton 25 years.

She is survived by her parents, John and Gertrude Kamstra of Ripon; brothers, Dennis Kamstra of Washington and James Kamstra of Modesto; and sister, Marjorie Keeton of South Carolina.

Private services. Burial will be at Ripon Cemetery, Ripon. Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, Ripon, in charge of arrangements.

Shirley J. Tabar

June 5, 1926 -- Feb. 27, 2000

Shirley Jean Tabar, 73, of Newman died Sunday at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.

Mrs. Tabar was a native of Clinton, Mo., and had lived in Newman 50 years. She was a homemaker. She organized the wine and cheese, parade and chamber dances for the Newman Fall Festival.

She is survived by her husband, Martin Tabar of Newman; children, John Tabar of Stevinson, Thomas Tabar of Sacramento and Linda Sanders of Modesto; brother, Jay Lain of Culver City; sister, Janey Plumley of Wista; stepsister, Char Franke of Woodsworth, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillview Funeral Chapel.

Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, San Joaquin/Stanislaus, 1524 McHenry Ave., Suite 465, Modesto 95350-4568.

Robert Moore

Jan. 25, 1920 -- Feb. 27, 2000

Robert Moore, 80, of Manteca died Sunday at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.

Mr. Moore was a native of California. He lived in Manteca 35 years. He worked in transportation. He was an Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Moore of Manteca; sons, Robert N. Moore of Gold Hill, Ore., and Christopher D. Moore of Livermore; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
