Craig L. Ingersoll passed away peacefully on January 12, 2009, he was 72. Loving husband of Zelda Ingersoll, father to Ronald and Craig Ingersoll and his wife Jennifer, and grandfather to Jeffery Craig Ingersoll, all of Copperopolis, CA. He leaves behind a sister, Julie Campbell and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother Roy Ingersoll of Watsonville, CA and his sister Marie Tennant. Known as Big Craig to his many friends and extended family he will be truly missed. Long time resident of Watsonville, he was a car enthusiast, dirt bike rider, and mechanic.
Family and friends will celebrate Craig’s life in Dove Springs, Mojave Desert, CA on February 14, 2009. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the VNA Hospice, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370.

Kostelnik "Bob" Kostelnik, 68 of Turlock, passed away at his home. He was a native of Binghamton, New York.
He served two tours of duty in the Army. Bob was a member of the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He is survived by his wife Norene Kostelnik of Turlock, step-daughters Drenda Howard and Deena Biondolillo both of Modesto; 7 grandchildren, and his dog Cinnamon.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 26, at 3:30 p.m. at the Shelter Cove Community Church. Allen Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Pearl Pilot died peacefully at age 89 in Stuart, Florida.
Born in Colorado, she was married 54 years to her beloved husband Reverend Peter Pilot. Together they pastored a number of churches, including 25 years as Pastors of the Salt Lake Christian Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God. She spent the past 20 years in Turlock, California until recently relocating to Florida with her family. She was an accomplished musician as a church organist and vocal soloist.
She was a seamstress and spent many hours sewing for herself and her family. She is survived by her son Larry Pilot of Palm City, Florida, two daughters, Donna Mitchell of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Peggy Galyen, a missionary in Zimbabwe, Africa. Also grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park in Turlock, CA. Arrangements made at Martin Funeral Home in Stuart, Florida and Allen Mortuary in Turlock, CA.

Blackwell Faye, 94, of Modesto, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Wheatland, MO to Everrett and Olive Thompson in 1914. Faye married Sammie Blackwell in 1932. During WWII, she worked for the Defense Department in Kansas City, MO. They moved to Redlands, CA in 1950. Faye worked at the University of Redlands. Faye settled in Modesto after her husband's passing in 1996. She was a life time member of The Church of God. Faye had completely read five different versions of the Bible. Faye was a full time wife and mother.
Faye is survived by her children; Billy (Shirley) Blackwell of Roseville, Betty (Jerry) Hanks of Modesto, and Bobby (Norma) Blackwell of Turlock; sister Ellen Thompson; ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Blackwell; children, Johnny Blackwell and Bonnie Cansler; and great grandchild Faye Hanks. Faye’s daughter, Bonnie passed away 38 years to the day of Faye’s passing.
Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. A visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Monday, January 26th, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, January 27th at 3:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held at Montecito Memorial Park in Loma Linda, CA on Thursday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817.

Sahlstrom Hubert Rawlin Sahlstrom “Salty” ~ 87, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor. Salty was born in Hilmar, and lived there for about seven years until his family moved to Turlock. He graduated from Turlock High School in 1939.
Salty served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a gunner on a B-17. He belonged to the Caterpiller Club because he was in a plane that was shot down over Germany during a bombing mission in January 1945. After bailing out of the plane, all were captured and held as prisoners until the end the war when General Patton’s troops rescued them. Salty has told the story many times that the guys in the tanks, as they came through, threw K-rations to the prisoners of war – the best food they had eaten in a long time.
Salty returned to Turlock at the end of the war and married Vera Butler (Sahlstrom). He worked for the Turlock Irrigation District for 35 years. Salty was a past member of the Turlock Country Club, and loved to play golf. Salty was an avid gardener known for his home cured hot olives and pickled peppers. Salty had a new joke to share with his grandchildren at every family gathering. As Junior Warden at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Salty could be called on at any time for any job. He was a past member of the Board of both the S.I.R.S and of Golden One Credit Union.
Salty is survived by his loving wife Vera Sahlstrom, of Turlock; by his children Nedra Voorhees, Beryl Simkins, Jeffrey Sahlstrom, all of Turlock, and Janet Sahlstrom of Boston; as well as by ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Salty was preceded in death by his son Stephen Sahlstrom, by his brothers Ralph and Norris Sahlstrom, and by his sister, Myrtle Kracke.

Kuchan Randy ~ 48 of Turlock, passed away unexpectedly, at Emanuel Medical Center. Randy was born and raised in Turlock. As a child, Randy attended Osborn Elementary, Wakefield Junior High and graduated from Turlock High School in 1978.
Playing sports came easy to Randy, as he was a natural athlete. He was a star wrestler in both Junior High and High School. He also loved playing baseball as an All Star catcher as a youngster. He continued playing baseball as an adult and coached his sons in Little League. Randy was also a avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing; and water skiing; fishing was his passion. He was a die hard Dodger fan, a family tradition from his father, that he passed down to his own three sons. Randy had strong work ethics, beginning in high school when he started working for Paul’s Paint and Glass, which turned into a career lasting almost 30 years.
Randy is survived by, his mother Carleta (Jack) Ballantyne, of Modesto, children; Chad Kuchan, Mitchell Kuchan, Bryan Kuchan, their mother, Sherrie Kuchan, mother-in-law, Bernice Semore, granddaughter Angelina Kuchan, and grandmother Irene Blaylock all of Turlock. Randy is also survived by his companion Catherine Diane, and by many aunts and uncles; Angelo Hillas (preceded by Melva Hillas) of Modesto, Robert & Mary Moore of Denair, Karen & Don Moss of Don Pedro, Margaret Parker, Jerald Blaylock of Hughson, James & Jamie Blaylock, Sharon & Richard Mitchell, all of Arkansas, Mary Cooper of Virginia, Richard & Jeannine Kuchan, Bub & Sandy Oates, and Eddie Oates, nieces, Brandi Kuchan of Tracy, & Jamie Kuchan of Turlock, as well as several cousins, and other extended family members. Randy is preceded in death by his father Thomas Kuchan, and brother Brian Kuchan.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary, Wednesday, January 28, 11:00am to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at the Northside Assembly of God, in Turlock, Thursday, January 29, at 10:00am. Haile Born January 4, 1917 in Holden Alberta, Canada and raised in Viking, Alberta, Canada.
She met John Howarth at Red Deer school and they were married on June 6, 1937 in Viking, Alberta, Canada. They moved to Pasadena, California in 1945 to attend Pasadena College. After graduating they served as pastors at the Nazarene Church in San Bruno, California until 1952. They then moved to Oakdale, California and served as pastors there till 1959. Ione also graduated from college and taught in the Oakdale Schools. They moved to Denair, California and served as pastors at the Nazarene Church until 1964. Ione also taught several grade levels at Denair Schools until they both retired. John Howarth passed away in 1982. Ione remarried on December 5, 1987 to Cecil Haile. She moved to Covenant Village in 1998. Ione went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 5, 2008.
She is survived by her Son-John Howarth of Turlock, Calif., Daughter-BurnaDeene Howarth of Ceres, Calif., Brother-Jack Prichard of Canada, Brother-Ira Prichard of Canada, Brother-Vernon Prichard of Canada, Brother-Lyle Prichard of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Step Children Wanda Smith, Verlon Haile, Gwen Smith, Merlin Haile, Darrel Haile.
She is preceded in death by her Husband-John Howarth, Husband-Cecil Haile, Grandson-Greg Howarth, Two Brothers and 4 Sisters.

Handel Wallace Handel – 87, Turlock, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. Born in Lodi, California, raised in Washington and Denair, Gratton Area. He was the son of Christian and Magdalena Handel. In his younger years, he was Manager for Lindskoog Hatchery then worked for Suburban Propane until 1986. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Evans of Turlock, and brother, Ralph Handel of Modesto. He is predeceased by his wife, Evelyn in 2002; and sister, Alice Feuerstein. Entombment service will be held 11:00 am Monday, March 10, 2008 in Turlock Memorial Park, Reverend Luther Englund officiating. Visitation 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Sunday at Allen Mortuary.

Wilson Dawn, age 40, of Lake Don Pedro area, died Tuesday, June 24, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Modesto and raised in Turlock. She graduated from Turlock High School. She enjoyed making jewelry, painting nails, and NASCAR. She loved horses of which she did barrel racing. Most of all, she loved being around her family.
Dawn is survived by her parents Emmett and Darlene Stamps, son Wyatt Wilson, sister Tamara Padilla, brother Jimmie Stamps, four nieces and two nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. Memorial Service will be held at the Masonic Center in Oakdale. 357 N 8th Ave. Oakdale. On Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m.
