Douglas Lee
PARADISE - A memorial service for Douglas W. Lee, 75, of Paradise, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Chapel.
He died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in a local hospital.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in San Francisco, to Henry and Lilian Lee. Lee graduated from Commerce High School in San Francisco. He served from 1943-1946, during World War 2, in the Army.
Lee received degrees from USF and SFSU. He taught in Richmond and was an elementary school principal in Oakland. He retired in 1978.
In 1970, he married Mildred in Reno, Nev.
Lee moved to Paradise Pines in 1980 and recently relocated back to Paradise. He was a seven-year member of the Paradise Elks Lodge. He and his wife traveled extensively and had visited Paris, Monte Carlo, Spain and the Hawaiian Islands. They wintered in Arizona.
Lee liked to garden and play Bingo.In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Steven Babcock of San Jose and Brian Lee of Berkeley; two daughters, Jennifer Sabroe of Martinez and Susan Simonds of Walnut Creek; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Paradise Hospice.
BETTYANN FARMER
At her request, no services will be held for Bettyann "Bets" Farmer, 78, of Cottonwood, Calif.
She passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at a Chico hospital.
Bets was born to Walter and Clarabelle Fullagar in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 12, 1923.
In 1960 she married Edward Farmer; he passed away in May of 2001.
Bets LOVED playing bridge with her specialfriends, traveling, jazz festivals, dancing 'til 2, house boating and their motor home.
She worked as a schoolteacher for 35 years; in Arizona for seven years, then Chico Unified School District for 28 years, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include her two sons, Gary Greening of Gerber, Calif., and Gregg Greening of Japan; her daughter, Gae Timmons of Chico; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice of Red Bluff, Calif. in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home, who are handling the arrangements.

MARIE AMELIA MORGADO
Marie Amelia Morgado passed away on August 14, 2003 at the age of 75.
Marie was born on June 16, 1928 in Eureka, California to Frank and Isabel Lourenco.
She attended elementary school in Ferndale, California and graduated from Orland High School with the class of 1946.
Marie moved to Chico in 1947, met and married Alvy Morgado on April 24, 1948.
