DELORES WILSON
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 1172 Guill Street, for Delores Wilson, age 69, of Chico. She passed away January 31, 2004 in Chico.
Delores was born June 5, 1934 in Bordentown, New Jersey to Clara and Oscar Johnson. She attended high school at Bordentown High School. She married Kenneth Wilson October 11, 1956. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Second Baptist Church of Chico since 1976, and a member of the Essence Women of Chico. She participated in choir and Women's Mission and served as assistant treasurer and committee chairperson.
She enjoyed working her fill-in puzzles, books, bowling, traveling and helped others through charitable organizations.
She is survived by her spouse Kenneth Wilson of Chico; daughters Deborah Ingram of Derby, Kan., Regina Williams of West Covina,  Calif., Vanessa Wilson of Sacramento,  Calif., Dale Brown of Bristow, Va., Sharon Williams of Wichita, Kan., Laurie Moland of Sacramento, Katherine Wilson of Sacramento; sister Catherine Schonyers of Burlington, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clara and Oscar Johnson, brothers David, Raymond and Theodore, and sisters Frances and Gloria.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church Wednesday before the service. Burial will take place at Camellia Memorial Lawn in Sacramento. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.

PEARL KELLY
A Memorial Service for Pearl Kelly will be held 4 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004 at Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Pearl Kelly, 71, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Enloe Hospital. Pearl was born in West Cornforth, County Durham, England on March 14, 1932. She married Colin Kelly on February 26, 1955. Colin and Pearl emigrated to the U.S.A. in October 1979 with three of their four children. Colin and Pearl loved ballroom dancing and made many friends in the process. Colin and Pearl received Jesus Christ as their personal savior on February 2, 1980 in a Chico church. Pearl was a wonderful wife and loved life, had a loving nature and a cheerful smile.
She is survived by her husband Colin; brother Raymond and wife Enid; sister Elizabeth and husband Richard; son Paul and wife Sandra, son David and wife Rosemary; daughter Janette and husband Leonard, daughter Marie; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

NELLIE RHYNE
Although the last few years have been the most difficult of life's journey, Nellie Rhyne, 80, quietly passed away just as she had hoped she would; on January 30, 2004 in her Oroville home of 56 years, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved.
She was born February 2, 1923 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Acie Rhyne in 1992, a son Alvin Rhyne in 1977, a grandson Alvyn Rhyne Jr. in 1993, as well as sisters Bessie Aylor, Alice Lee, Goldie Thurman, and Marie Townsend, and brothers Willie Lee, Oscar Lee, and Clem Lee.
She is survived by her sons Charley and his wife Cathy Rhyne, Ivin and his wife Linda Rhyne, all of Oroville, Richard and his wife Lou Rhyne of Lucerne,  Calif.; a daughter Minnie and her husband Bill Wisti of Duluth, Minn.; two adopted children, Michelle Rhyne and Lucky Rhyne, both of Oroville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and two lifelong friends, her sisters Jessie Wright of Biggs and Fay Lee of Oroville.
Along with raising their own five children and adopting two more during their 32 years of marriage, Nellie and her husband Acie were very active foster parents, providing a home and guidance to countless numbers of children. They especially enjoyed traveling in their motor home to the coast and spending time at Clam Beach,  Calif. They were always accompanied by as many children and grandchildren as they had room for. Nellie was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
A Visitation will be held on February 5, 2004 from 9 a.m. through the service. A chapel service will be held on February 5, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Oroville Funeral Home. Following the services, Nellie will be gently laid to rest at the side of her husband, Acie, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
When the family chain is broken and loved ones forced apart, it leaves behind an empty space and many broken hearts. Our family chain has broken, and nothing seems the same, but God will call us one by one, and link the chain again.
The family wishes donations to go to the Valley Ridge Hospice of Paradise in loving memory of Nellie and Acie Rhyne, and may be left at Oroville Funeral Home which is handling the services.

George Aguiar
A graveside service will be held for George Veirra Aguiar, 69, of Chico at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
He died Friday, March 2, 2001, at a local hospital.
Aguiar was born Oct. 16, 1931, to Frank and Elsie Aguiar in Orland.
He lived in Orland most of his life. He graduated from Orland High School, transferred to Yuba College and then to Chico State University.
He enjoyed sports, family, traveling, friends, dining out and classical music.
He was a football coach for many years, coaching for Pop Warner and Orland High School. He was an avid fan of football all his life.
In 1956, he renewed a friendship with Nelda Kalb. They got married on Aug. 7, 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda of Chico; his stepson, Gordon Kalb of Chico; his stepdaughter, Leah Wilder of Paradise; three brothers, Lawrence, Louie and Jimmy, all of Orland; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.

Dale Baston
SUSANVILLE - A funeral was held for Dale Otto Baston, 64, of Susanville, who died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001.
He was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Worland, Wyo. He graduated from Chico High School in 1955, and attended Chico State University.
Baston was a fire captain with the California Department of Forestry for 20 years. He also worked with the U.S. Forest Service in a lookout tower for six years.
Baston had been a Lassen County resident for 34 years.
He was past master counselor of the DeMoLay, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Magalia Grange. He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America, coaching Little League and attending sports activities in the local area.
Fishing and hunting were among his hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Edna of Susanville; two sons, Greg of Janesville and Daniel of Maui, Hawaii; two brothers, Martin of Paradise and Pat of Reno, Nev.; three sisters, Mary King of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Patsy Gurly of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Sandra Wright of Reno; and six grandchildren.
Private interment was held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lassen County Special Olympics or a favorite charity.
Walton's Colonial Mortuary of Susanville is handling the arrangements.

RANDY KENYON
Memorial services will be held for Randall Louis Kenyon, 50, of Chico 2 p.m. Sunday, February 8th at Grace Brethren Church. He died Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at his mother's home following a long battle with cancer.
Randy was born May 9, 1953 in Whittier,  Calif. to John and Yo Kenyon. In 1972, he graduated from Paradise High School and later attended Simpson Bible College in San Francisco. Randy worked for Safeway in Paradise for five years. He later worked as a sales representative in food service and then was involved in property management. He loved golfing, fishing, and traveling. Randy was a dedicated Christian and served the Lord with his visitation and AWANA ministry at Grace Brethren Church.
Survivors include his mother, Yo; two brothers Rod and Roger Kenyon; a sister, Janelle Watkins; and eight nieces and nephews who considered him the best uncle who ever lived.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Randy Kenyon AWANA Scholarship Fund at Grace Brethren Church in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online at nbcfh.com.

Ruth L. JONES
Ruth L.  Jones passed away on January 12, 2004 at her residence in Oroville.
She is survived by one brother, Tom Terwilliger; two sons, Don and Richard Legg; three grandchildren, Diane, Donald and Michael Legg; two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Marc Legg, all of Oroville.
Grave side services were held on January 20, 2004 at the Willits Cemetery in Willits,  Calif.

Thelma Stutz
PARADISE - No service will be held for Thelma Louis Stutz, 91, of Paradise, who died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at a local health care center.

Esther Navarette
OROVILLE - A funeral is pending for Esther Mae Navarette, 75, of Oroville, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at her residence.

James Doty
ORLAND - A graveside service for James Joseph Doty, 37, of Orland will be conducted a 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, in the Orland Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Wanda Kelley
OROVILLE - A graveside service for Wanda B. Kelley, 75, of Oroville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
