Geri Hamilton
Geraldine “Geri” Hamilton passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 3, 2005. She was born Dec. 22, 1929 in Defiance, Iowa.
She taught in the Elk Grove school district for 25 years, and children were the love of her life.
Surviving her are her husband, Douglas; sister, Norma Bechtel; daughters, Debralee Hamilton and Teri Luthi and husband Richard; grandsons, Justin, Jeremy and wife Monica; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Gabriel and Dylan; as well as numerous other family and friends.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Herald Baptist Church, 12037 Conley Road (at Twin Cities Road), Herald.
Donations may be made in her name to the church for a future memorial garden or to the Gideon’s.

Diane Archer
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 12 for Diane Carol Archer who died Nov. 7, 2005 at the age of 59.
Mrs. Archer was a lifelong resident of the Sacramento area.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years David Archer; children Kirsten Morgan and husband David, Shaun Archer and wife Alice and Heather Behrman and husband Gerald; and grandchildren Jennifer, Lynell, Katelyn, Trevor, Taylor, Jordan and Jacob.
Mrs. Archer was the sister of Edward and Richard Green.
Visitation is today (Friday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd. Saturday’s services will also be at the chapel beginning at 11 a.m.
Interment in Hilltop Cemetery will be private. Remembrances may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Greater Sacramento Area Chapter, 3020 Explorer Drive, Suite 11, Sacramento, CA 95827.

Nell Gann
Funeral services will take place today (Nov. 11) for Lucy Nell Gann who died Nov. 7, 2005 in the home of her daughter in Elk Grove.
Mrs. Gann, 89, was born to John and Rosa Holloway on Jan. 5, 1916 in Sparkman, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Paul Gann on Sept. 11, 1989.
“She has been our guide, our protector, our inspiration and most importantly, our friend,” said her family.
Mrs. Gann is survived by her children, Mary Pauline Hammond and husband Lavere of West Lake Village, Richard L. Gann and wife Joan of Phoenix, Linda N. Stone and husband Ken of Elk Grove and JoAnn Fowler and husband George of Mammoth Lakes; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Today’s services begin at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks.

Timothy Dodson
A remembrance gathering will be held today (Nov. 11) for Timothy A. Dodson, a lifelong area resident who died Oct. 27, 2005 of complications stemming from a sudden illness. He was born May 27, 1954.
Mr. Dodson attended Sacramento City College, then began a retail paint industry career which spanned 32 years. In the early 1970s he started first with the original Lumberjack stores on Arden Way under the Steiner family. Later he moved on to Glidden Paints, then Fuller-Obrien and most recently, the ICI Dulux Paint Center on Arden Way.
His interests included auto racing, San Francisco 49ers and Sacramento Kings.
Mr. Dodson is survived by his parents, Alfred and Beatrice Dodson of Elk Grove; brothers Jeff Dodson also of Elk Grove and Ken Dodson of Sacramento; nieces Kelsy Ann Dodson and Carissa Dodson; and nephew Joshua Aaron Dodson.
Today’s services begin at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 6200 McMahon Drive, Sacramento. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery, 43rd and Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento.

Rev. Donald Wells
Memorial services for Rev. Donald Winfred Wells, retired United Methodist minister, will take place Saturday, March 18. Rev. Wells, 75, died March 8, 2006 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Included among the many churches he served was Florin United Methodist Church; in fact, he was the first pastor at the church’s present location at 7560 Florin Road at Palmer House Drive. This was during the 1960s and Rev. Wells was instrumental in the church’s growth from about 50 to 400 members.
He was born June 10, 1930 in Escalon to Orlyn Winfred and Alice Mae Wells. Prior to entering the ministry, he worked in the newspaper industry in Santa Cruz, and also served in the U.S. Army military police reserve from 1951-54.
Besides Florin, Rev. Wells pastored churches in Kerman, Oakland, Salinas and Woodland. In addition, he served in many cabinet positions with the church, including district superintendent of the Delta District of the California-Nevada Conference.
He and Jeannine were married in 1950 and have lived in Woodland for the past 23 years.
“Don will be remembered as a loving, caring father…(who) loved vacations and activities with his children,” said his family. “An avid, lifelong baseball fan, he was able to fulfill a dream of visiting all major league baseball parks in the country. In his younger days, he was a hiker, camper, loved to fish and played basketball and baseball.”
He was preceded in death by grandson Nathaniel.
Rev. Wells is survived by his wife of 55 years Jeannine of Woodland; children, all of whom live in the Sacramento area, Donnine Carey and husband Robert, Randy Wells and wife Lori, Rick Wells and wife Helen and Rev. Jerry Wells and wife Bonnie; and grandchildren Jennifer and husband Vasilios, Benjamin and wife Angel, Nicole, Sandra, Carey and Jerriann.
He was the brother of Duane and wife Sylvia and brother-in-law of Kathy Manherz.
Visitation and viewing will be at Kraft Brothers, 175 Second St., Woodland, on Thursday, March 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday’s memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. at the Woodland United Methodist Church, corner of Second and North streets.
Remembrances may be made to the Woodland church, St. John’s Retirement Village or Yolo Wayfarer Center.

Theresa Brombacher
Theresa Marie Brombacher, a former resident of Elk Grove, died March 6, 2006 at the age of 38. She was born Oct. 23, 1967.
Ms. Brombacher’s career was spent in the financial arena. Her interests were in criminology and psychology, and she was a volunteer at Mills Memorial Hospital and Halcyon Baptist Church.
She lived in Elk Grove for about eight years.
Ms. Brombacher was preceded in death by her father, Stephen John Brombacher.
She is survived by her mother Marie  Johnson of San Mateo; sister Debbie Brombacher of Vacaville; brothers Justin Brombacher of Killeen,  Texas and Brandon Brombacher of Vacaville; stepmother Joyce Brombacher-Cose of Vacaville; sister-in-law Deanna Brombacher of Killeen and five nieces and nephews.
“Her legacy of kindness, thoughtfulness and willingness to give to others was unforgettable,” said her family. “She had a refreshing and sharp-witted personality with friendships worldwide.”
Memorial services took place March 11 in Vacaville.

Dorothy Buscher
Dorothy Eleanor Buscher, who was the oldest living member of Point Pleasant United Methodist Church, died Dec. 28, 2003, her parents' wedding anniversary, at the age of 96.
Mrs. Buscher worked at the Thornton Cannery for more than 40 years, where she was head forewoman. She was a longtime member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, "and went through the chairs a couple of times," said her daughter, Ramona Jonson. She also served as official deputy to other NDGW parlors.
Mrs. Buscher was born in Yuba County to William F.H. Mohr and Margaret Lee Higgs Mohr, and moved to the Franklin-Point Pleasant area at an early age. She grew up on Bruceville Road, attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1926. She was the last surviving member of that class.
She was a member of several clubs besides the Native Daughters, including the Elk Grove Garden Club, Book Club, ceramic and knitting groups. Both she and her husband, Herbert, belonged to the Sacramento County Farm Bureau.
They were married in 1926, and settled in Franklin in the same home until his death in 1991 on their 65th anniversary.
Mrs. Buscher delighted in her family, said her daughter, and was especially pleased to become a great-great-grandmother on Nov. 5, 2003. A five-generation picture was published in the Elk Grove Citizen in its Jan. 2 edition.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Glenea and her brothers, Bill, Elmo, Hale, Virgil, Don and Harold Mohr.
She is survived by her daughter Ramona Jonson of Courtland; her brother Ron Mohr of Sacramento; and her grandchildren, Renee Yager of Orangevale, Spencer Wanner of Gold Country, Tina Medich of Elk Grove, Ted Jonson of Franklin, David Jonson of Courtland and Sally Gualco of Sacramento.
Mrs. Buscher was the great-grandmother of Shon and Justin Mellow, Jason, Jessica and Nick Wanner, Brian and Tess Jonson, Courtny Fletcher, and Christopher, Eric and Matthew Gualco; and the great-great-grandmother of Ashley and Madison Mellow.
Pastor Neal Harrell officiated at services which took place Monday at Point Pleasant United Methodist Church. Remembrances may be made to the church at 3329 Point Pleasant Road, Elk Grove, CA 95758, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were by South East Lawn Mortuary, Elk Grove.
