Frank J. Fish died Oct. 9, 2004.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margaret; sons Kevin and Tim; daughter-in-law Nancy; grandchildren Bill, Kevin Patrick, Jessica and Danny; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Mass was Friday, Oct. 15, at Saint Catherine’s Church followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
Services were under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Jesus Rubio Espinoza
Jesus Rubio Espinoza, 81, died Nov. 15, 2004, at his home in Gilroy.
A native of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, he came to the United States in 1945 as a bracero (migrant farmworker). He was a knowledgeable person due to his immense love for books. He was passionate about furthering his scientific knowledge. He was constantly reading books about the mechanics and physics of objects, he made practical inventions, and he was a mechanic at heart. He loved astronomy, and enjoyed being able to witness natures’ wonders.
Mr. Rubio Espinoza is survived by his children Rosario and her husband Jose Castaneda of Gilroy, Evangelina and her husband Juan Triana of Gilroy, Alicia and her husband Epifanio of Phoenix, Ariz., Elvia and her husband Juan Pablo of Gilroy, Miguel Rubio and his wife Rosaura of Gilroy, Delfina Rubio of Gilroy, Maria de Jesus Rubio of Gilroy, and Lilia and her husband Jesus Ibarra of Gilroy; brothers Santiago Rubio, Faustino Rubio; sister Inez Rubio; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Hernandez-Rubio, who died on April 12, 2004.
Services take place at 10am today, Nov. 20, at Habing Family Funeral Home. Burial follows at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
Sylvia N. Dodge
Sylvia N. Dodge died Oct. 21, 2004, in Morgan Hill at the age of 96.
Born in Bradford, England, on May 15, 1908, she came to the United States in 1910 living in Paterson, N.J., and Fair Lawn, N.J., before moving to California where she lived for 22 years. She then returned to Paterson, moving back to California four years ago.
She was a secretary/ bookkeeper for Trenton Silk Co. in Paterson for 12 years before retiring in 1936.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Ann Nehlsen of Morgan Hill; grandsons Craig Nehlsen of Carlsbad and Keith Nehlsen and his wife, Kristen of Oceanside; great-grandchildren Kelsey Hernandez, Kaytlyn Nehlsen and Kasey Nehlsen; sister-in-law Mildred Rawcliffe; a nephew; and two nieces.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Christopher G. Dodge (1990); sister Mary E. Proctor; and brothers George and Raymond Rawcliffe.
Services were held in Totowa, N.J., on Oct. 28, 2004, followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery
in Paterson. Requiem services will be held Nov. 20, 5pm at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 17740 Peak Ave.
Dolores Emelia Ellefsen Cox
Dolores Emelia Ellefsen Cox died Nov. 8, 2004, in Santa Ana after a long illness due to a genetic form of emphysema.
Born on Feb. 9, 1922, in Ely, Minn., Dolores was known by her many friends as “Dodie’” lived in Morgan Hill for more than 40 years (1960 to 2002). She was an elementary school teacher at Rucker School in the Gilroy Unified School district from 1961 until retirement in 1985.
After graduating from Ely Memorial High School in 1940, she attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing and earned her bachelor’s in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. (June 1945).
Her nursing career began in 1945 as supervisor of the Communal Disease Ward at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, and continued at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank. She also served as a staff nurse in Wadsworth Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles. She then changed careers from nursing to elementary school teaching.
Dolores was a long-term member of several professional and fraternal organizations, including Delta Kappa Gamma, Gilroy Teachers Association, California Teachers Association and Eastern Star.
Her life centered on her church, Morgan Hill Presbyterian. She sang in youth and adult choirs, as well as serving in various roles as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
Dolores cultivated many interests in life, but primarily enjoyed being with her many friends. She loved music, reading and reciting poetry, and collecting stamps. In her later years she developed an interest in writing stories about her family, leaving a rich record of family history called Out of the Attic. She always tried to see the funny side of life and the humor of a situation. Counting her many blessings, Dolores always saw the beauty of life about her, often quoting the Roman matron, Cornelia who said, “My children are my jewels.”
The family takes great comfort in knowing that Dodie is free from all sickness and pain.
Dolores is survived by son Tim Cox, daughter-in-law Marcia and their daughters Nicole and Danielle; and daughter Lisa Shanks, son-in-law Louis and their sons Luke and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by ex-husband Robert Cox.
Her remains will be buried at Ely Cemetery
in Ely, Minn. A memorial service is scheduled to be held at 2pm Saturday, Nov. 20 at Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church.
Angela Marie Krayenhagen
Angela Marie Krayenhagen died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, She was 34.
Born and raised in San Jose, Angela attended Horace Mann Elementary School, Peter Burnett Junior High School and San Jose High School. She was a long-time dancer and member of the Lee Dancers Studio, San Jose, and Maryann Dancers in Santa Clara.
She was the queen of the San Jose Doughnut Festival in 1985, and also was queen of the Cinco de Mayo Festival 1985. Angela won the over-all gymnastic dance state competition in 1981 at Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Throughout her life, Angela was devoted to God and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She was the mother of Matthew Michael Vasquez of Gilroy; daughter of Judith Ann Alvarado of Gilroy and Angelo A. Salinas, and his wife, Roseanna of Santa Cruz; granddaughter of Leota Marie Krayenhagen of Folsom; sister of Desiree Sablan of San Jose, Tammy Govaer and her husband, Louie of Ceres; stepsister of Annamarie Gutierrez and her husband Michael John of San Jose, Chavel Santiago and his wife, Cece of Sunnyvale; aunt of Anthony Krayenhagen of Ceres, Andrew and Megan Sablan of San Jose, Cheri and Maya Gutierrez of San Jose and Jesse Santiago of Sunnyvale.
Funeral services will be held 3pm Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy with visitation beginning at 1pm

Magdalena Del Rio
Magdalena “Maggie” Del Rio died Nov. 12, 2004, in Gilroy. She was 71.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Del Rio of King City; children Manuel and his wife Rosanne Del Rio of San Jose, Valarie and husband Rick Rodriguez of Gilroy, Millie Del Rio of Gilroy, Maggie and husband Marcelino Romero of Reno and Ramona and husband Alex Ojeda of Montana; brothers Ben, Reynaldo Abril, Paul and Ralph Jasso, all of Arizona; sisters Jennie Leyvas of Arizona and Hortencia Jasso of Gilroy; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Theodore “Teddy” Mollinedo.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am today, Nov. 16, at Habing Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
