Ralph Merle Jordan
Ralph Merle Jordan, son of the late Robert and Norma Jordan, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 in Redwood City.
Mr. Jordan was born in French Camp, 74 years ago. He attended schools in Watsonville and Pacific Grove, and after graduating from Pacific Grove High School in 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Boxer. He worked for Garden City Transportation and was a member of Teamsters Local 287, VFW Post 4112 as well as a life member of American Legion Post 669.
He is survived by sisters Fae Gorges of Cupertino and Irene Barbaglia of Watsonville; brother-in-law of John D. Garcia of Gilroy, Lawrence K. Hail of Pinole, Cleo Pirrone of Modesto, Sandy Garcia of Goldfield, Nev.; nieces and nephews Little Irene of Hayward, Joanne McCall of San Jose, Kenny Gorges of Lincoln, Sylvia Kreis of Colorado, Carol Perry of Cottage Grove, Ore., Jeannie Wilkins of Pacific Grove, Linda Bonita of Watsonville, Bobby Jordan of Medford, Ore., Judy McKissack of Antioch, Nancy Robinson of Hollywood, Christie Harrison of Concord, Larry Hail of Texas, John D. Garcia Jr. of Gilroy, Daniel Garcia of Gilroy, Dennis Garcia of Stockton, Michael Garcia of San Jose, Paul Garcia of San Jose, Philip Garcia of San Jose and David Garcia of San Jose; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Jordan; brother Robert Jordan Jr.; and sister Janet Hail.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10am Sunday, March 6, at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Joe Leonti Jr.
Joe Leonti Jr. died in Utah at the age of 80.
He was formerly of Morgan Hill and San Martin. He was employed for many years by the former A.L. Castle, Inc. of Morgan Hill
He was the husband of Grace Leonti; father of Michael, Randy and Steven Leonti; brother of Tony Leonti of San Martin, Carm Rasmussen of San Martin, and Eleanor Harden of San Jose. He also is survived by many nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Leonti.
Services have been held.
Lisa Ann Lyman Curley
Lisa Ann Lyman Curley died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at her home in Morgan Hill. She was 45.
Memorial services, to which everyone is invited, will be at 10am today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Martha Salas
Martha Salas, 63, died at her home Sunday, March 7, 2005, after a lengthy illness.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She devoted her life to raising her grandchildren. Her passions were caring for and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Laurie Ponce (husband Eddie) from Salinas; grandchildren Vanessa Barbettini (husband Justin) from Japan, Marty Louise Salinas, Jesse Salinas Jr., Jason Salinas, Salina Marie Salinas, all from Gilroy, and Reyna Victoria Lara from Texas; great-grandchildren John Ross Molina Jr., Julius Aaron Salinas, both from Gilroy, and Jasmine Leanne Barbettini from Japan; siblings Sylvia Caudill (husband Curtis), Dora Mendoza (husband Raul), Victoria Hernandez, and Robert Salas, all from Gilroy, Helen Morris from Los Banos, Ernestine Navarro (husband Ismael), and Charles Salas (wife Susanna), both from Southern California. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe “Pepe” Sanchez; father and mother Raymundo Sr. and Marty Salas; and brother Raymundo Salas Jr.
Visitation takes place at 1pm on , at Habing Family Funeral Home. Graveside services were Friday, March 12, at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park under the direction of Habing Family Fumeral Home.
Kevin Mark Kemp
Kevin Mark Kemp, born July 2, 1958, died on March 8, 2005.
Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, with golfing and fishing at the top his list. His wife was his best friend. He will be remembered by his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
He was the beloved husband of Stephanie and devoted father to Daisy, who was born just last year. He also is survived by his mother Marjorie; brothers Alan and Gary; and sisters Karyn and Harla.
Visitation took place from 5-9pm Friday, March 11, at Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial services is at 11am today, March 12, at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.
Kaye B. Redd
Kaye B. Reed died March 4, 2005, in Gilroy.
Formerly of Los Gatos, she moved to Gilroy when her husband retired in 1979. She was educated in the San Francisco school system and lived in Santa Clara County for more than 50 years. She was a former member of the ICF and past president and member of St. Louise Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
She was the proud mother of seven children Conde Burnett, Victoria Thorburn, Theresa Saffle, James R. Redd III, Bradley Kenneth Redd, Lorene Deborah Murphy, and Denise Michelle Sherwood Moseman; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, James, and son Bradley.
Funeral Mass took place March 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gilroy. Private interment was at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
Arrangements were under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.
Mary V. Solis
Mary V. Solis died March 10, 2005, in San Jose.
Mrs. Solis was a huge San Francisco 49er and Giants fan who also enjoyed gardening and playing cards, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the most loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved singing to her family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, John Solis and his wife Patricia of Hollister, Yolanda Mendoza and her husband Ernest of Gilroy, Ernie Solis of Gilroy, Peggy Arias and her husband Pete of Gilroy, and Rick Solis and his wife Donna of Ceres; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Frank David Solis.
A memorial service was Monday, March 14, at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy.
Services were under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.
Emma Ruth (Bogert) DeAngelo
Emma Ruth (Bogert) DeAngelo, 85, died March 10, 2005, after a five-year battle with emphysema.
Emma lived in Morgan Hill and San Martin for 22 years. She was married to Sal (Sam) DeAngelo for 52 years. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Emma was a food service volunteer at Nordstrom Elementary School for a number of years with her husband. After his death in 1990, she continued volunteering, but at El Toro School. She continued her volunteer work until her emphysema forced her to retire at the age of 81. Emma enjoyed bowling, and was in a senior league, bowling into her early 80s. She also loved family gatherings and recently celebrated her 85th birthday with family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sal; son-in-law Doug White; grandson David Miclette;
She is survived by children Jean (Pete) Miclette of Cave Junction, Oregon, Etta (Doug) White of Reno, Nev., Sam (Terry) DeAngelo of Reno, and Debbie (Gerry) Blanchard of San Martin; loving grandchildren Peter (Regina), Paul (Christine), DJ (Karen), Tracy (Alan), Tammy (Jackie), Terry (Jeff), Trina (Glenn), JoAnn (Michael), Evelyn (Dave), Ronda (Dave), Sherry, Tina, John, Nicholas (Lisa) and Travis; and numerous great grandchildren.
Services were under direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
