Peter F. Bejarano, 63, died July 28, 2003, in Gilroy.

He was born in Miami, Ariz., on Sept. 19, 1939, to Rosa and Francisco.

Peter was very devoted to his family. He was a strong role model for his children by being a wonderful provider, a supportive and involved father. He spent more than 30 years coaching Pop Warner Football and Morgan Hill Pony Baseball, being there for his children but also touching the lives of many young individuals.

Peter was a double-career man. After receiving his BS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University he started his career working for Salt River Project in Tempe, Ariz., then went into the semiconductor industry working for 33 years for companies such as Motorola in Arizona then moving to Fairchild in Mountain View where he was director of operations VLS1 and Advanced Products. Peter went to Trilogy in Cupertino and retired from Raytheon in Mountain View in 1994.

After enjoying a short-lived retirement Peter decided to give back to our youth and became a teacher. He went into teaching with the same passion he had in industry sharing his life experiences with his young elementary school students. He was a storyteller and he brought to life math and history lessons. He wanted his students, especially Hispanic students, to leave his class knowing that they could conquer the world through education. The same message he gave to his children. All who knew him will have fond memories and his spirit will live on.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Carolyn; children and their spouses Anthony P. and Melanie, Paul M. and Yvonne, J. Dominic, Rogelio A. and Jennifer, Denise M. Arellano and Art; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
