Marc Richard Gershenoff

Marc Richard Gershenoff of Gypsum,  Colo., died Nov. 17, 2002, at the Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail,  Colo.. He was 36.

Born Jan. 21, 1966, in Walnut Creek, he spent his childhood in Morgan Hill, graduating from Live Oak High School in 1984. He married Cyndi Williamson and they had two daughters, Hannah Sue and Rebekah Anne.

Marc lived in the Vail Valley for six years, and in Gypsum,  Colo., for the past three years. He was a vehicle and parts manager for Vail Associates, in Beaver Creek,  Colo. He loved mountain and dirt biking, skiing, auto wrenching, golfing, the mountains and music. He was also a Raider fan, but first and foremost he loved hanging out with his wife, daughters and friends.

He is survived by his father Richard Gershenoff of Sacramento; mother Carla Gershenoff of Peyton,  Colo.; his wife, Cyndi; sisters Dana Gershenoff of Park City, Utah, and Valerie Gershenoff of Boulder,  Colo.; and daughters Hannah Sue and Rebekah all of Gypsum.

A memorial service took place Nov. 21 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Gypsum.

Memorial Contributions in Marc's memory may be made to Vail Valley Charitable Fund (VVCF) P.O. Box 3861 , Eagle, CO. 81631. Please indicate either Gershenoff children or Gershenoff diabetes fund.

Orville Blythe

Orville Blythe died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Gilroy. He was 81.

Mr. Blythe was a native of Macomb, Okla. He was an Air Force fighter pilot during World War II and was a member of the American Legion.

His is survived by beloved wife, Vera Blythe of Morgan Hill; sister Myrtle Rittenhouse of  Oklahoma; children Scherri Werner of Redding; grandchildren Kristi Vicario of Redding; great-grandchildren Domonic and Giavanna Vicario of Redding; and many nieces, nephews; and an abundance of friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Larry Blythe, and grandaughter Kimberly Blythe.

Memorial services was this morning, Nov. 22, at the Gilroy First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave. Arrangements were under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.

Steve “Richard” Aguilar

Steve “Richard” Aguilar, 34, of Gilroy, died Sept. 25, 2003 due to illness.

Richard was born and raised in Gilroy, loved family gatherings, singing karaoke to his favorite songs and weight lifting. He enjoyed all sports and was a dedicated Raider and Jeff Garcia fan.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Orosco Aguilar; children Richard, Richelle, and Ryan Aguilar, all of Gilroy; father Alfonso Aguilar; mother Lena Galvan; grandparents Cruz and Micaela Fausto, all of Gilroy; brothers Alfonso Aguilar of Visalia, Roy Aguilar and Fernando Aguilar, both of Gilroy, and Adam Aguilar of Billings, Mont.; sisters Tina Aguilar of San Jose, Crystal Aguilar of Billings and  Taylor Aguilar of Sacramento; God-daughter Brianna Olivares of Gilroy and many special in-laws. He has eight nephews, eight nieces, many uncles and aunts, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marcial and Anita Galvan.

Visitation will be 5-8:00 p.m. today, Sept. 30, at the First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., Gilroy. Services are scheduled at noon Wednesday, also at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.

Arrangements are under the directionof Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

William (Fritz) Horst

William (Fritz) Horst died Sept. 22, 2003 in Fremont. He was 88 years old.

He was born Jan. 13, 1915, in San Jose. He was the loving husband of Loraine Horst of 60 years; devoted father of Agnes Telfer of Fremont and Gary Horst of Chino Valley, Ariz.; dear brother of Gertrude Cadwallader of Rungsted Kyst, Denmark; devoted grandfather to Karen Thomas, Janine Nicholson, Bill Horst, Fritz Horst, Shelia Lindahl and Debbie McBride; and loving great grandfather to five children.

Fritz was a life-long Santa Clara County resident. He lived in Gilroy most of his adult life, working for F&P Cannery as a millwright and a co-owner of Oak Horst Cafe with his wife.

His passion for agriculture led him to win numerous awards at the Santa Clara county Fair for his wine and vegetables. He was a member for many years of the Santa Clara Farm Bureau and the Morgan Hill Grange. His hobbies were rock hounding, fishing and coin collecting.

Interment was Saturday at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park in Watsonville. Arrangements were under the direction of Wyant and Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyvale.

Gregory Dean Willson

Gregory Dean Willson died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in a tragic motorcycle accident.

Born July 17, 1960, in San Jose, he attended Santa Clara High School and was state champion in hurdles. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1979, leaving as a master sergeant. He was awarded the Air Force Achievment Medal for meritorious achievement in 1982.

He is survived by loving children Cameron, Jason and Jammie Ann Willson and Danielle and Brandon; father Elvin Willson and stepmother Geraldine Willson; brother Michael Willson; sisters Joanne Goulden, Debra Reels and Jeanette Crane; nieces and nephews; and Kim Willson.

Gregory loved his children very much. He was a very well-liked person. Everyone who knew him liked him. He also was very funny and a happy-go-lucky kind of a guy. He will be missed by many.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Neptune Society, 798 South Second St., at Virgina in San Jose.

Henry Hazelrigg

Henry Hazelrigg, 85, died Sept. 28, 2003, in Gilroy

For many years, Henry was an electrical engineer with the C&O Railroad in Indiana while living on a farm and raising sheep and crops. He moved his family to California in 1963 when he became an electrical contractor. He and Margaret moved to Missouri in 1973 and lived there for 13 years before returning to California.

Henry has always been a faithful, honest husband, dad, grandpa, and friend who touched many lives with his. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by children John Hazelrigg, James Hazelrigg, Julia Hernstedt and Jeffrey Hazelrigg; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his sister Alice Albin of Santa Maria.

Henry was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, in 1993.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 3, until 8 p.m. at  Johnson Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Charlotte Ruth Williams

Charlotte Ruth Williams, 57, died Sept. 22, 2003.

Born Nov. 14, 1945, in San Jose, she had been a resident of Junction City, Oregon, for 22 years. Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved knitting and traveling with her husband. She was a Live Oak graduate and later attended Bethany Bible College. Charlotte worked for many years at Rubenstein’s Furniture as an accounting manager, and later worked for Medic First Aide for nine years.

She is survived by her husband, Ferrill Williams Sr.; children Michelle Williams of Harrisburg, Oregon, Ferrill Williams Jr. of Junction City, Oregon, and Chris Williams of West Inn, Oregon; and brother Al DeStasio of Fresno.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 3, at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene, Oregon.

The family asks that any donations be made to a favorite charity.
