Mrs. Joanne A. Cuellar passed away on April 9 at the age of 96 in Vacaville.
Mrs. Cuellar was born in Vacaville and worked as a homemaker for 65 years. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Winters.
Mrs. Cuellar is survived by her sons Manuel Jr. Cuellar and his wife Patricia of Dayton, Nevada, Joseph E. Cuellar and his wife Josephine of Vacaville, and Paul Cuellar of Sacramento; as well as six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Manuel P. Cuellar, whom she married in Winters in 1935.
A Catholic Prayer Service, officiated by Father Michael McFadden at McCune Garden Chapel, was held on April 12 at 1 p.m. in Mrs. Cuellar’s memory. The service was followed by a burial in Vacaville’s Elmira Cemetery.

Doris May Oremus went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2006. Born on August 3, 1914 in Winters to Herbert and Emma Conner, Doris was raised in Winters with her siblings, Bertha, Selma and Herbert Conner, Jr. (Buzz). She graduated from Winters High School with the class of 1932.
She received her Bachelors degree at UC Berkeley and graduated from Yale University as a R.N. Her nursing career sent her to Southern California, however she got a job as a nurse on a ship so she could see the world. It was on board ship that she met her husband of 53 years, Mike Oremus. Together they ended up with three children, David, Joe and Frances, all while living in other countries, including India, Singapore and Japan.
Finally ending up in Long Beach, CA in 1971, Doris became a welfare nurse and a school nurse at Nightingale where she worked until she was 75.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; sister, Bertha and brother, Buzz. She is survived by her sister, Selma, and all of her children and grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, March 20 at 1 p.m. in Bethany Church in Long Beach. Burial was in the family plot in Winters Cemetery.

Talmage G.R. “Shorty” Constant Sr. was born July 25, 1918 in Guion, Arkansas. He passed away peacefully Saturday, March 25, 2006 in his home surrounded by his wife and family. Talmage was a long time resident of Winters since 1944.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 61 years; daughters Carolyn Hawley of Winters and Frances and husband Manuel Garcia of Winters; son Riley and wife Terri Constant of Gustine; sister Daphine and husband Dick Panburn of Eureka; brothers Earl and wife Barbara Constant of Cottonwood and Leamon and wife Susan Constant of Woodland; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Talmage was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Faye Constant who were also longtime residents of Winters, son Archie Constant in August of 2003, brothers Charlie of Oregon and Louis Constant of Woodland, and sister Retha Rooker of Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31 at First Baptist Church, 512 First Street in Winters with a 10 a.m. viewing and a 10:45 a.m. service.

Eudora Gilliam Mitchell Heinz died March 15, 2006 in Woodland at age 88.
Mrs. Heinz was born March 12, 1918 in Woodland. She was a resident of Yolo and Solano counties. She graduated from Esparto High School in 1936, and was a homemaker for 32 years.
Eudora was a longtime Winters resident. Her husband, Ted Heinz, a Winters farmer, died December 13, 1980.
Survivors include Mrs. Heinz’s adopted daughter, Maria Murillo of Dixon, her grandchildren, Carmen Guzman, Nichol Funes, Maria Elena Villalpando, Irma Ponce, Tony Guzman, Jose Guzman, Israel Guzman, all of Dixon; 16 great-grandchildren; her cousins Laura Litott of Auburn and Lucille Edmundston of Merced.
A viewing and funeral were held Wednesday, March 22 in Woodland. Interment will be at the Woodland City Cemetery.

Elton D. Keith passed away on Tuesday, March 21 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 14, 1923 in Talihina,  Oklahoma to Ben and Esther Keith. He was the eldest of 11 children. He resided in  Oklahoma for most of his youth before moving to Winters with his family.
He was inducted in the United States Marine Corps in 1944. He was ultimately deployed to Iwo Jima on D-Day of the Pacific, February 19, 1945. He served as a decorated Corporal in the First Battalion, Fifth Marine division. Elton was employed by The County of Yolo for 20 years.
Elton was known for his quiet reverence and dedication to The Lord. When living in Oregon, he was instrumental in establishing the first Christian Church on the Pauite Indian Colony. When living in Winters, he and his wife pastored The Faith Tabernacle Church. They were supportive of several missionaries and the La Grande Feliz Orphanage. Ill health forced him to eventually retire from the active ministry.
Elton was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying elk hunting, fishing and prospecting. He had quite the green thumb and enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. His love of music was apparent; his favorite music could be heard throughout any given day.
Elton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma (Mattox) Keith; his four children: Daniel Keith, Phyllis Keith, Rhonda Kimball and Linda Estepa; his six grandchildren: Sherry Mack, Ronald Gonnella, Joel Seigel, Angela Estepa, Carie Estepa and Ryan Estepa. He also has four great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brothers Chas Keith, Ozell Keith, Gene Keith and Glenn Keith; sisters Waltine Barber, Geraldine Willard, Lois Wagoner and Lena Handle. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Lela, brothers Jay T. Keith and Lloyd “Bud” Keith as well as his parents Ben and Esther (Washburn) Keith.
Elton will be remembered for his boundless compassion and generosity. He was deeply devoted to his family and was loved and respected by all. He will be greatly missed.
Services were held Friday, March 24 at the Main Street Church. His brother, Reverend Glenn Keith, officiated.

After a three-year battle with cancer, Evelyn “Eleanor” Hansen passed away at home on March 16, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nov. 6, 1928, in Gates Canyon. She was the fifth child of the late Pedro and Ascención Castro, both immigrants from Spain. Raised on fruit ranches in Pleasants Valley, she attended local schools, graduating from Vacaville High School in 1947. She completed Heald Business College in San Francisco and returned to Vacaville to marry her high school sweetheart, Victor Hansen.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, family members said. Her home was a welcome haven for family, friends and neighbors. She touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Victor Hansen; parents; and brothers and sisters, Frank, Manuel, Peter, Mary Gonzales, Louise Coomber and Barbara Ramos.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Villalpando and Patricia Connelly; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Dan Williams, Kelly and Dale Fletcher; grandchildren, Brenda Gaddy, Jason Connelly, Jessica and Megan Williams, Amanda and Matthew Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Tiara, Cainan and Justice Gaddy, Merissa, Emily, Jayci, Isabella, Samantha and Jason Daniel Connelly; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruby Castro and Chuck and Marian Otto; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Bishop Jed Lowe, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1st Ward, will preside.
A reception will follow the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Solano County 4-H Youth Development Program, 501  Texas St., Fairfield, CA 94533.

Bobby Lee Falkenberg passed away at Summerford Care Facility in Roseville on March 16, 2012 after a six-year battle with Dementia DLB. Born in Caldwell, Kan., on Oct. 8, 1931, he was 80 years old.
He was the loving husband of Patti Falkenberg and the father of Rick, David and John Falkenberg, Kim Colgrove and Danielle Cody. He is survived by siblings, Kenneth Falkenberg, Wanda Waterson and Barbara Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Rita Falkenberg, and sisters Betty Souza, Sue Rice and Lilly Huber. He had 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He worked as a service engineer for International Paper Company for 40 years and was the owner of the Running F Ranch in Winters for 25 years. He was a resident of Roseville, for the past 12 years. Those who knew him will remember him as a man of faith, love and integrity who enjoyed life, family and friends.
Internment services will be held at 9:30 a.m. March 26 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road in Dixon. A celebration of his life will be held at noon at Pleasant Grove Community Church, 1730 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville.
