Barbara J. Heslinga

Barbara J. Heslinga, 77, of Visalia died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Barbara J. Heslinga was born in Cutler. She graduated from Visalia Union High School in 1942. The former Barbara Warren married B. Dale Heslinga in Yuma, Ariz., on Jan 2, 1955. She was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad as a ticket clerk for 20 years. Following that job she worked for Nash-De Camp as a dispatcher for five years. She was also the head bookkeeper for Sunkist Fruit Exchange for 18 years. She loved to fish and travel. Family was very important to her, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, B. Dale Heslinga of Visalia; one daughter, Linda Wise and husband, Steve of Visalia; one sister, Imogene Peel of Exeter; two grandchildren, David and Daniel Wise of Visalia; nephew, Spike Reece; niece, Judy Allan.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. today at Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Eugene Milton King
Eugene Milton King passed away in Visalia on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the age of 84.
Eugene was born in Tennessee and has resided in Fresno since 1957 with the last year and a half in Visalia. He worked for Fresno Equipment Co., the John Deere Dealer for 30 years. In 1964 he won a state and international general superintendent of the year award for Sunday School and Christian education.
He was a devoted member of the Northeast Assembly of God Church. Eugene and his wife, Virginia, helped build three new churches in Africa as well as volunteer missionary work throughout the United States.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, and son, Jerry, daughter, Patsy Tanner, and granddaughter, Tracy King.
He is survived by his son, Bobby King and his wife, Janice of Visalia; brother, Jack King of Arkansas; sister, Virginia Gee of Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Sandra Jackson and son-in-law, Cliff Tanner. He is the beloved grandfather of six and great-grandfather of nine.
Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. today at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, Fresno. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethesda Christian Center, Tulare. Interment will be at North Tulare Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hamilton Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare.

Emily Jane Goodholm

Emily Jane Goodholm, 79, passed away Friday, October 5, 2001, in Visalia. A memorial service in her honor will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia.
She was born March 1, 1922, in Emporia, Kan., the fifth and youngest child of Lafayette and Mahala Theye. She graduated from Emporia High School in 1939 and received a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Kansas State University in 1943. After college, she taught high school home economics and chemistry in Kansas until she moved to California in 1944.
She married Paul Robert Goodholm on Jan. 16, 1946, in San Diego. She and her husband relocated to the San Fernando Valley in 1952 where they resided until moving to Visalia in 1988. She was a homemaker and, through her daughters, an active leader in the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Robert Goodholm of Visalia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jonathan Burnett, Jacksonville, Fla., and Judith and Frank Vigil, Visalia; one brother, Edward J. Theye, Visalia; three grandchildren, Tamra, Jerry and Joshua Golden; one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosalie "Rose" Marie Ayers, 67, of Visalia died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001.
She was a homemaker.
Virginia Annette Court
Virginia Annette Court, 81, passed away at her home in Aptos on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, after a brief illness. She was born in Maynard, Iowa, and had been a 15-year county resident. Mrs. Court started teaching in 1939 in Iowa and also taught school in Tulare and Tracy. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Soquel; the Retired Teachers Association; and the No Name Hiking Group. Mrs. Court loved the outdoors, as well as traveling, the beach, antiques, her grandchildren and sending cards to her many friends.
