Clyde Taylor
Clyde  Taylor died January 23,
2009. He was born on August 7,
1929 to Annie Bea and Robert
 Taylor in Henderson, NC. He was
an only child. At the age of 18
years old, Clyde entered the Air
Force where he served diligently
and through his efforts, became
a Sergeant.
In 1956, Clyde married
Remona Pettiford, and fathered
4 children, Colette, Jerilyn,
Leanne and Jeffrey, all whom he
considered his finest works of art.
Clyde retired from the Air
Force in 1967. He and his family
moved to Livermore, California,
where he lived until his last day.
While in Livermore, Clyde took
position as a research assistant
in environmental and vibration
testing at Sandia National Laboratories,
for the next 27 ½ years.
Clyde was an educated and
brilliant man. He attended
Mitchel College in Long Island,
NY; Chabot College in Hayward
and Livermore; University of
Tennessee Space Institute in
Tullahoma, TN and attended numerous
seminars and workshops
in general education, physics,
real estate, and space environments.
He loved to volunteer in the
state park system. He was a docent
on Angel Island in San Francisco
Bay. Clyde was also a student
of Allensworth’s State Historical
Park where he studied,
among other things, Shaft,
Califia and Buffalo Soldiers in
the west. Some of Clyde’s other
passions were his family, reading,
writing, fishing, bowling, traveling,
golfing and photography.
Clyde is survived by his exwife
and friend, Remona; four
children: Colette, Jerilyn,
Leanne and Jeffrey; nine grandchildren:
La Shawna, Aja, Ricky,
Monique, Jamaal, Ashley, Jeffrey
Jr., Jesse, and Jaidee; and six
great-grandchildren: Aujai,
Ayana, Levelle, Nia, Nakayla and
Naudiah. Clyde is also survived
by an entire host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and close friends
and neighbors.
Clyde may have left us on
January 23, 2009, but not without
us knowing that the best and
most beautiful things in the world
cannot be seen or even touched,
they are felt with the heart.

Homer Hughes
Homer Hughes, a native of
 Oklahoma and a resident of
Pleasanton since 1954, passed
away at the age of 80 on January
29, 2009.
He was very athletic and in
his youth played semi-pro baseball.
In later years, he played lob
ball and was president of the
league. He rounded out his career
in sports by playing bocce
ball. He passed on his love of
sports to his children and grandsons,
who all played sports and
whenever possible he was there
to watch them.
Homer looked forward to his
family vacations in Lake Tahoe
and on the coast. He was generous
and giving, a man for whom
his family always came first. He
also enjoyed visiting with friends
and neighbors.
He will be remembered by his
wife Cecilia, his "doll" of 56 years,
by his daughter Ricki/Frank
Coryell and grandsons Bryan/
Katie Coryell and Daryl/Chrystal
Coryell, daughter Vicki Hughes
and her partner Erma, son David/
Susie and grandsons Aron and
Adam Hughes, great grandson
Chayce Coryell, and many nieces
and nephews, especially Phil
Lang and George Oxsen.

Robert H. Ronald
Robert "Bob" H. Ronald died
January 31, 2009. He was born
May 6, 1920.
Bob is survived by his beloved
wife Dorothy Ronald, his
son Robert and and daughter-inlaw
Joanie from Yuba City, 5
grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews. He was preceeded
in death by his daughter Cathye
Rahlves and his mother- in-law
Hazel Partridge.
Bob was a Pleasanton resident
for over 40 years, served in
the Coast Guard during WW II
and was retired from Union Local
302.
Funeral services were held on
February in Hayward.

Marjorie A. Walker
Marjorie passed away peacefully
after a brief illness on February
1, 2009, with her family by
her side.
Marjorie was the loving wife
of Leo Walker of Pleasanton who
cherished her during her 54 years
of marriage. They were wed at St.
John’s Church in Cambridge,
Massachusetts on June 11, 1955.
Marjorie was born in Cambridge,
Massachusetts June 7, 1928, the
beloved daughter of Elizabeth
and Patrick O’Neill. She attended
Cambridge High and Latin
School followed by business
school. She worked for the Army
Intelligence, and The Veteran’s
Administration during her career.
She received decorations from
the Secretary of the Army and the
Mayor of Boston honoring her
bravery in supporting firefighters
fighting an extensive fire in the
hold of the SS Black Falcon Victory
which was docked at the
Boston Army Base. In addition,
she spent many rewarding years
as a homemaker raising their five
children.
Marjorie is survived by her
loving husband Leo, sons Steve
Walker (Debbi), John Walker
(Laurel), Bill Walker (Melissa),
Bob Walker, daughter Betsy
 Jones (Doug) and grandchildren
Kimberly, Christopher, David,
Christopher, Julia, Katie, Kirsten,
Victoria and Kate. She is also survived
by her brother Bill O’Neill,
sister Betty Leppzer and numerous
nieces and nephews including
Robbie and Ted Leppzer
whom spent several years with
the family during their childhood
and of whom she loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers the family
requests that donations be made
to the St. Vincent de Paul Society
in Livermore.
Visitation will be on Thursday,
February 5th from 5-8 PM at
the Graham Hitch Mortuary 4167
First St in Pleasanton, followed
by a mass Friday morning at 10
a.m. at St Elizabeth Seton Church
at 4001 Stoneridge Dr. in Pleasanton.
Burial services will be private.

Ruth Amelia Camara
Ruth Amelia Camara passed
away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009
in Oakland, CA. She was born in
Glendale, AZ. on Dec. 22, 1952.
She was 56 years old.
Ruth was raised in San
Leandro and moved to Livermore
shortly after graduating from
high school. She retired in 2008
after 28 years of service at
Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. She enjoyed water
skiing, and the great outdoors.
She was an accomplished seamstress
lovingly making her
daughters prom dresses through
out the school years.
She is survived by her parents,
William and Jannet Camara of
San Leandro, her son Robert
Eckert of Livermore, daughters,
Tamara (Martin) Trester of
Modesto, Crystal Achziger of
Livermore, brother, Michael
Camara of Brentwood and sisters
Elaine Sunday of Hayward and
Renee Leca of Pleasanton, and
her three grandchildren, Marysa,
Connor and Zach.
A Vigil will be held on Thurs.,
Feb 5, 7 p.m. at Callaghan’s
Chapel, 3833 East Ave., Livermore.
Memorial Mass will be
celebrated on Friday, Feb 6, 11
a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic
Church, 458 Maple St., Livermore.
Inurnment will follow at
St. Michaels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations
are suggested to Shepherds Gate,
1639 Portola Ave., Livermore, CA
94551 or St. Jude’s Children’s
Hospital. (www.stjude.org).
