Loretta Anne Petersen
Laura Francis Olsonoski
(Loretta Anne Stevens) was
born in Richardville Township,
Minnesota on May 27, 1916 to
Steve Olsonoski and Francis
Wilebski.
At a young age, her mother
died of smallpox after nursing
the town residents during an
epidemic. Her father remarried,
and Loretta helped raise and
care for her ten step-siblings.
As a young adult, she moved to
Vancouver, BC, Canada to work
and live with relatives, including
her beloved cousin Bernice.
She later relocated to the San
Francisco, California, Bay Area
where she met and married Paul
Petersen. Their son Robert was
born in 1952 in Hayward, CA.
Paul worked as a butcher for
Safeway stores and later as a
custodian for Livermore, CA
public schools until retirement,
while Loretta kept their home and
raised their son in Livermore. She
enjoyed her friends and activities
including exercise, art classes,
and casino trips.
After Paul’s death in 1996,
Loretta relocated to the Seattle,
WA area to be closer to her son
and grandchildren.
She lived at Queen Anne
Manor and then at the New Hope
group living home in Shoreline
until her death on December

Petersen, of Seattle. Loretta was
