Stephen T. Parker
Steve passed away May 2,
2009, surrounded by his family,
at the age of 48 from a long courageous
battle with non-
Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He never
complained and often offered
comfort to those around him.
He was born in San Jose, CA
May 19, 1960 and spent most of
his life living in Pleasanton and
Livermore.
He is survived by his wife,
Debra, and children Jennifer and
Thomas; parents Jack and Keville
Parker of Pleasanton; brother
David (Shelley) of Livermore and
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins
and nieces. He will be missed by
his in-laws the Zehnder family.
Steve was a graduate of Foothill
High School and CSU Hayward.
He was employed for 23
years by Enterprise Rent a Car,
most recently as the Human Resources
manager for the San Francisco
area. Steve touched many
lives personally and professionally.
He had a knack for finding
the positive in all that he did and
the ability to make someone feel
good about themself.
He was an avid Bay Area
sports fan, enjoyed golfing, playing
poker and supporting his
children in their various sports
endeavors. He made many lifelong
friendships through these
activities.
A memorial service will be
held Saturday May 9 at 1:00 pm
at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167
First Street, Pleasanton. A celebration
of Steve’s life will take
place immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that donations be made
to your favorite charity or to a
scholarship fund that has been
set-up in Steve’s name. Send

Diane Marie Shaughnessy
Diane was born on January 5,
1949 in Oakland, California and
Passed away on May 2, 2009 in
Livermore, California after a long
battle with cancer, she was 60
years old. Diane loved her Corvette
club, gardening, cooking,
and spending time with her family.
Diane was deeply loved by
her family and all who knew her
and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by
her husband, Bill, sister Sandy
and father Rollyn.
She is survived by her mother
Helen Parrish-Sunderland and
daughter, Christine Burnham of
Livermore, brothers, Ron Parrish
and his wife JoAnn of Manteca,
CA, Greg Parrish and Joy of
Twainharte, CA, granddaughters
Valentina, Krystalina, Rhiannon
and grandson Chancelor.
In honoring Diane’s wishes a
private memorial service will be
held at a later date.
Donations are suggested to
Hope Hospice in Dublin.

Bertram S. Christensen
Lifelong Livermore resident
Bertram Christensen passed away
on July 30, 2008 at Saint Agnes
Hospital in Fresno. He had been
living in Clovis with his daughter
and her family since March
2008. He was 87.
He was born in Livermore, on
December 6, 1920. Bert graduated
from Livermore High
School, Class of 1937. He was a
member of Asbury United Methodist
Church, the Danish Lodge,
and past Master of the Masonic
Lodge, (the 2nd youngest Master
in California). Bert was past
Director of the Livermore
Stockman’s Association.
He was preceded in death by
his wife Doris in 2005. He is survived
by his children, Diana
Gould and son-in-law Al of
Clovis, and Andrew Christensen
and daughter in-law, Andrea of
Livermore. Also surviving are his
grandchildren, Jeffrey Perlichek,
Darren Perlichek and wife,
Kandi, Andrew Perlichek, Lucas
Perlichek, Jeanine Lytle and husband
Scott and Sheila
Christensen; and three greatgrandchildren,
Kylie & Dakota
Perlichek and Ava Lytle.
Funeral services were held
August 4 in Livermore. Burial
was at Memory Gardens Cemetery,
Livermore

Attilio “Buck” Enrico Boccoleri
Livermore resident Attilio “Buck” Enrico Boccoleri passed
away on August 1, 2008 in Livermore.
He was born on February
25, 1918 in San Francisco.
He was 90 years old.
Til worked in the Nursery business
and at Golden Gate fields
for many years. He was a devoted
husband and enjoyed spending
time with family and friends. He
was also a proud member of “The
Friends of Marino Pieretti."
He is survived by his loving
wife of 56 years, Phyllis
(Capriotti) and a son, Gary
Boccoleri, who was the light of
his life, and daughter-in-law Kim
Boccoleri, and granddaughters,
Gina and Daniela Boccoleri, all
of Livermore.
A Chapel Blessing Service
was held August 6 in Livermore.
Inurnment was at Memory Gardens
Cemetery, Livermore.

Julia P. Rodriguez
Pleasanton resident Julia P.
Rodriguez died July 30, 2008.
She was born January 1, 1918
in Santa Clara, where she grew
up. She moved to San Leandro
in 1938 when she married Joseph
B. Rodriguez (aka Gabby), who
Passed away in 1987. In 2005,
Julia moved to Pleasanton to be
near her family. While living in
San Leandro, Julia as very active
in the Senior Center, always donating
her time to help out with
different city activities. She
loved to do needlework and was
a very talented artist. She and her
late husband belonged to RV
clubs and toured the United
States and Canada with family
and friends.
She is survived by her children
and their spouses, Gilbert
and Julie Alves of Livermore and
Joseph and Cindy of Escalon, sister
and her spouse, Mary and
Louie Deniz of Modesto; grandchildren,
Mitchell and Leslie
Alves, Kari and Mitchell Candler,
Jennifer and Joe Rodriguez,
Stacy and Jeff Harris, Stephanie
and Jesse Rangel and twelve
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
August 5 at Cornerstone Fellowship
in Livermore. Burial was at
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in
Hayward.

Susan Sarah Reckas
At rest after a lengthy battle
with Alzheimer's, Susan Sarah
Reckas, artist, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, business
owner, teacher and animal
lover, died on January 4, 2009.
Her family was by her side. She
was a Pleasanton resident.
She was born January 31,
1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah to
Jasper E. Searles and Gertrude
Koontz Searles. Susan was a
member of the Order of the Eastern
Star, Past Worthy Matron,
1000 Oaks Chapter, Berkeley.
She, along with her husband,
Nick, owned and operated Hi
Fashion Fabric and Sewing Machine
Store in Albany. She taught
sewing in Albany Adult Education
for 30 years. Susan and her
husband retired to Pleasanton in
1973.
Susan was preceded in death
by her husband Nicholas Peter
Reckas in 1994. They had been
married for over fifty years. She
was also preceded in death by a
brother Jasper Eugene Searles,
sisters Nina Searles Thomas,
Marcia Searles Core, Margaret
Searles Collins and sister-in-law
Edith Walkup Searles.
She is survived by daughters
Stephanie R. Morgan, Jackie
Reckas-Reteles (Sam) and
"Mama Reckas" to Robbie Ebey-
Bush. She is also survived by five
granddaughters and six great
grandchildren.
A special thanks goes to Terry
and Grace and the staff at Pleasanton
Guest Home for their devoted
care of Susan for seven and
a half years. Thank you to the
special Angels of Hope Hospice
and the caregivers of Silver Oak
Manor.
A memorial service was held
January 7 in Pleasanton.
Donations may be sent to
Hope Hospice in Dublin or the
Alzheimer's Association.
