Harriet I. Morehead
Harriet Morehead, a resident
of Livermore for 18 years, passed
away peacefully surrounded by
her family on June 28, 2010.
Her life was all about her family;
she was a loving wife, devoted
mother and doting grandmother.
Harriet was born to Harrison

1933 in Chicago, Illinois. She
met her husband and lifelong
sweetheart, Richard (Dick), at

at first sight. They were married
less than 6 months when Dick
was drafted in May of 1952.
At the tender age of 21, Harriet
drove from Chicago to Oklahoma
to be with him during basic training.
After Dick returned from
war, Harriet worked at Time
Life Magazine as a keypunch
operator, taking the “L” train to
work. Later, she and Dick lived
in Lansing, Michigan; Allentown,
Pennsylvania; and finally
Pleasanton, California where
she worked as a media aide at
Fairlands School and afterward
for Farmers Insurance and Scales
Unlimited.
Harriet will be deeply missed
by her loving children, Lori Cortez
