Elizabeth was born Elizabeth Foster in Alberta, Canada in 1911. The Foster family moved to Idaho around 1915 where her father, James Foster, worked for many years as the county recorder and postmaster.
In 1939 she married Merle Schneckloth and began an adventurous life. They moved around the state of California from the desert of Lancaster to the ocean of Terminal Island, the farmlands of Soledad, and the old facility at Folsom. In 1962 they moved to Susanville where Merle was the superintendent of the newly created California Conservation Center. Beth once again enrolled the children in schools and found dentists and doctors and did all the homemaking things she had done so many times before.
She became immediately involved in the Good Shephard Episcopal Church which continued throughout her life. She worked briefly for Clem Doyle, at Doyle Motor Company, and later volunteered for the hospital auxiliary.
Through 93 years she met and made too many friends to list them all. Some who do stand out though are Alice Ovesen, of San Louis Obispo, and Nell Tharp, formerly of Soledad and currently living in Gardnerville. Both were in close contact with her to the end. Her bridge group Iris Davies, Ruth Stapleton, Barbara Theiler, and Carol Carver put up with some creative play in the last few months. Her hairdresser Bill Wemple, who worked his magic every Friday, Irene Trout, who nursed both Beth and Merle over many years, and her great friend Carol Currey who gave so much for so long.
