ROBERT LOUIS BARTLEY (corrected)
Robert Louis Bartley, age 60, went to the Lord and his infant son, Robert Louis Bartley II on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005. He was born on June 30, 1945 in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Robert was an avid fisherman, an outdoors man, an all around Mr. Fix-it, and an active member of the LDS Church.
Robert resided in Susanville with his wife Roberta for the past five years after coming from Placerville,  Calif., where they raised their children. After just a short time he became a friend to many and one people could depend on for help. Robert could always be found around his house fixing or building something. He was an everyday part of his grandchildren's lives and loved everybody around him.
He is survived by his wife Roberta; son Jason and his wife Cynthia, of Susanville; daughter Lisa Rinde, of Gridley; grandchildren Jacob, Jordyn, Jared and Trevor, of Susanville; Darrell Rinde, U.S. Air Force, Phillip Rinde, of Gridley; brothers and their wives Leonard and Sandy, and Louis and Patti, all of Placerville; twin sister Bonnie and husband David, of Placerville; sister Louise and husband Dave, of Calistoga; sisters Theresa and Cora, of Ft. Bragg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in his hometown of Placerville,  Calif., at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at the Westwood Hills Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate his life will take place after the services. His family requests that any remembrances in his name be made to a charity of their choice.

VIRGINIA ROSE FRENCH
Virginia Rose French, was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Wilmar, Minn., entered into rest Oct. 5, 2005. She and her husband moved to Los Angeles,  Calif., in the early 1940's. They moved to Sebastopol,  Calif., in 1957 where they attended Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Virginia moved to Susanville in 1990 and became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She resided at Susanville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility from 1995 until her death.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Lee Joseph French Nov. 6, 1961, and her daughter Joy Denelda Broyles Jan. 3, 1997.
She was a devoted mother to Dennis Loren French and Sharon Lee Rocksted and the beloved grandmother of Dennis Lee Broyles, Debbie Jean Lopuch, Raymond Lee Rocksted, Joel Lee French, Amy Marie Katherean French, loving great-grandmother of Angelica Nicole Rangull, Tiffany Joy Lopuch, and Kaedynce Lynn French.
There will be a memorial service for Virginiaat 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Donations may be made in her name to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Donor Services Center P.O. Box 4594 New York, NY 10163-4594.

BLAKE CASSIDY FRYE
Blake Cassidy Frye, seven-weeks-old, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Sutter Memorial Hospital, Sacramento,  Calif. She was born Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Lemoore Naval Air Station,  Calif.
Frye is survived by her mother and father Lori and Basil E. Frye III, and sister Kayla Frye, all of Lemoore Naval Air Station; grandparents Gary and Vicki Root, of Litchfield, and Gary and Judy Holder, of LeCanto, Fla.; great-grandmother Virginia Johnston, of Litchfield; and great-grandfather Basil E. Frye Sr., of Fayetteville, N.C.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Walton's Colonial Mortuary, 115 S. Lassen St., in Susanville, followed by burial at Janesville Cemetery.

MICHAEL KEVIN BYRNES
Michael Kevin Byrnes, 53, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at his cabin in Warner Valley. He was born Aug. 30, 1952, in San Jose, to William and Devota Byrnes.
Byrnes is survived by his wife Paula, of Pleasant Hill; and mother Devota, of San Jose.
At Byrnes' request following cremation no services will take place. Private disposition of his remains will take place at a later date. The family requests any remembrances in his memory be made to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.

IVA A. (SLATER) CALVERT
Iva A. (Slater) Calvert, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at General Care Convalescent Center in Clarksville, Tenn. She was born Aug. 19, 1921.
Calvert is survived by her husband Warren H. Calvert, of Clarksville, Tenn.; children Charles L. Slater, of Adams, Tenn., Thomas R., of Susanville, and Donna M. Christensen, of Santa Maria; eight grand children and three great-grand-children.
A graveside service and interment was held Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at Diamond Crest Cemetery.

MABLE JOAN RICHARDSON
Mable, age 72, born May 16, 1933, in Annadell, Tenn, Bill's beloved wife of 55 years, was welcomed to heaven Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. With Bill at her side, she crossed over at her home in Susanville,  Calif. after a long illness.
Mable is survived by her husband, Bill, and eight children, the oldest being Jack, then Bill, Belinda, Greg, Lonnie, Tina, Donald and Starr, all of California. Mable also leaves 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a large circle of friends and loved ones.
Mable and Bill were married on April 9, 1950, in Indianapolis, Ind. and moved to California the next year. The couple lived for many years in Ravendale.
Mable was crowned on the TV show "Queen for a Day" in 1962. She was an accomplished artist and crafter and sold her copyrighted dolls in Ravendale and at Spanish Springs Ranch. Mable had a wonderful, sweet nature and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She requested no services be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Honey Lake Hospice. Hospice volunteers helped Bill and Mable through Mable's long illness and he would like the organization to be remembered.

BURTON HENRY WELDER
Burton Henry Welder, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Willow Springs Nursing Home in Redding. He was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Westwood,  Calif.
Burton was raised in Westwood. He moved to Shasta County last year from the Chico area.
He served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Army during WWII, and worked as a supervisor in the land management field for 25 years.
Burton is survived by sons George "Tom" Morey and his wife Roxanne, of Standish, and Richard Morey and his wife Denise, of Shasta Lake City; sister Betty Cozart, of Anderson; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at the Lawncrest Chapel, 1522 E. Cypress Ave. Redding,  Calif.

MERRY LOUISE BRITT
Merry Louise Britt, 62, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at her home in Janesville. She was born Oct. 26, 1943, in Greenville.
Britt was preceded in death by husband Jimmy A. Britt.
She is survived by her mother Laura Freeman; sister Lily Hamby, of Greenville; brother Bob Freeman, of Cottonwood; daughters Kathleen O'Hern, and Tammy Carson, both of Janesville; and Marilyn Struthers, of Standish; son Jim Britt, of Janesville; many nieces, nephews and 12 grandchildren.
Vigil services were held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was held Oct. 6, at the church. Interment followed at Diamond Crest Cemetery. The family requests that any donation be made in Merry's memory to American Cancer Society.
