DILYS D. CUTLER
Dilys D. Cutler, 63, passed away Wednesday, peacefully at her home in Reno, Nev.
Born on Nov. 20, 1941, in Susanville, to Ken and Margaret Doyle, she attended the University of Nevada, Reno and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority.
She wed Larry Cutler on June 22, 1963, and moved to Napa where she resided until May of 2003, when she moved to Reno to be close to family.
During her time in Napa she worked for the Napa School District as a special education teacher and retired in 1996.
She was active in the Napa community with the "Reach for the Stars" cancer survivor's organization and the Community Thrift Store, as well as her sorority alumni group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry in 1996. She is survived by her daughter Tracey, son-in-law Ed Keller, grandsons Thomas and Chris, of Las Vegas, daughter Sally, son-in-law Jason Overholser, granddaughter Hailey and grandson Collier, of Reno, her brother Ken Doyle and his family and brother-in-law David Cutler and his family, along with many other family members and friends.
Services were held on Monday, Dec. 27, at Our Lady of Snows Church, Reno.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to The Leukemia/Lymphoma Research Foundation 4604 Roseville Road Suite 100 North Highlands,  Calif. 95660.

LEON B. "L.B." WINN
Leon B. "L.B." Winn, 86, died Friday, Dec. 24 of natural causes in Red Bluff.
He was born May 24, 1918, in Rector, Ark., to Alvin and Cleo Winn.
Leon was a railroad switchman for the Santa Fe Railway in San Bernadino for 28 years.
In 1967, he moved to Westwood and was a conductor on the train that hauled lumber for the Collins Pine Lumber Company at Chester where he retired in 1978.
He spent his retirement years playing golf in Red Bluff in the winter months and Westwood in the summer months.
Leon will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Josephine Winn, of Westwood and Red Bluff, son David and wife Stephanie Winn, of Cotati, son Gerald Winn, of La Quinta, daughter Janice Stout, of Los Molinos, sister Kay and husband Jake Flood, of San Bernadino, sister Sue Gray, of Idaho and brother Roland Winn, of San Bernadino.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 31 at the Chapel of Flowers in Red Bluff.

RAYMOND LEROY LINDQUIST
Ray passed away in Reno, Nev., Friday, Dec. 17, at age 73.
He was born in Scotia, March 15, 1931 and moved to Susanville in 1936.
Ray attended local Susanville schools, graduating from Lassen High School in 1949.
He enlisted and served in the Navy from 1951-1955.
After attending Sacramento City College, receiving a degree in mechanical engineering, he worked for Raleys Stores in the Sacramento area.
Ray returned to Susanville after the passing of his wife, Fredrika in 1999.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marion Richardson, of Arlington, Ariz., and his brother Ken Lindquist, of Mount Vernon, Wash.
Ray was an avid fisherman in the Sacramento area, winning a Derby sponsored by the Sacramento Union newspaper.
His catch was a 45-pound salmon taken from the Sacramento River.
He also loved the Northern California sports teams, faithfully following the Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants and Forty Niners.
Ray is survived by his sister Anita and her husband Woodrow Langley, niece Sheila and her husband Ken McCullough, nephew Gary Langley and his wife Susie, all of Susanville.
The family requests that donations be made in Raymond's name to either the Lassen High School Alumni Association or the American Cancer Society.
Family and friends held a celebration of life in loving memory of Ray.
Inurnment will be private.

HELEN CATHERINE SNIDER
Helen Catherine Snider passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Tender Loving Care Home in Reno, Nev., where she lived.
Helen was born in St. Cloud, Minn., August 1, 1914, third child of Philip and Christina Jeli.
She was married to her late husband, William Harold Snider forty-four years, who passed away in 1984.
They raised their family in Westwood where Helen lived for more than fifty years.
She is survived by her three children, Wayne Snider, of Susanville, Fran Mattern, of Auburn, Patti Madden, of Reno, her two sisters in Oregon, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She lived in Westwood from 1940-1994, when she moved to Reno, to an assisted living home.
She was very active in the community of Westwood for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Lady of the Snows, Catholic Church, the Altar Society.
She spent many years volunteering at the local thrift store, and man other community activities, she also spent many hours cleaning, shoveling snow, mowing the lawn and cleaning the linens for the Church.
Her love of people, baking and working outside, while caring for others, served as a life inspiration to her family and friends.
There was rosary on Saturday, Dec. 18 and mass celebrating her life at the Lady of Snows in Westwood.
She was laid to rest by her late husband in the Westwood cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Altar Society of the Lady of Snows, in Westwood.

DEAN WEAVER
Award Winning Teacher
The elementary teacher, father of three, wood craftsmen, photographer, fly fisherman, cyclist, pool shark, and football coach, died on December 27 from complications caused by a massive stroke.
He was 59 years old.
Being one of Lassen County’s finest, he will be remembered by many for his incredible spirit and eccentric teaching methods.
Dean is survived by his father, Samuel Weaver, brother, Marty Weaver, and his three children: Becky, Randy and Scott.
A memorial was held at Shaffer Elementary School on December 30.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weaver Writing Scholarship Fund at Shaffer School.

ESTHER EDNA JEAN BEELER
Esther Edna Jean Beeler, 88, died Thursday, Dec. 23 in Susanville.
She was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Australia.
Beeler is survived by son Stanley McKenzie, of Australia and daughter Patricia Callaway, of Red Bluff.

TIMOTHY MAX ADAMS
Timothy Max Adams was born in Sidney, Neb. on March 30, 1962.
He passed away in Herlong,  Calif., on Feb. 20, 2005.
He moved from Sidney to Herlong in 1965 where he grew up and attended school.
After graduation from high school, Tim worked for JC Penny and then the Sierra Army Depot for 19 years.
Tim is preceded in death by his father Max Adams and stepmother Anna Adams.
He is survived by his daughters Summer (Kenny) Paredes, of San Diego,  Calif. and Kacie Rae Adams of Rathdrum, Idaho; mother Teresa and stepfather Pedro Rodriquez, of Sparks, Nev.; sisters Tammie (Steven) Dunn, of Herlong and Jayne (Michael) Lawrence, of Doyle,  Calif.; stepsisters Laurie Trudell and Angie Rodriguez of Reno, Nev.; Missy Hernandez of Fountain, Colo., and Monica Zangerle (Pablo) of NJ.; stepbrothers Alex Mahikoa (Jasmine) of Battleground, Wash., Charles Rodriquez, of San Luis Obispo,  Calif. and Daniel Somonski, of Atlanta, Ga.; numerous nieces, nephews, one great niece and many close friends.
Tim was a man who cherished life. This was evident through his energetic, willing attitude and love for others.
He was a devoted father, brother and son.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish, hunt and camp.
Tim also enjoyed dancing, and could often be caught doing the "Gator."
Whenever Tim had a chance, he loved to spend time with his family and close friends.
A memorial mass was held Feb. 26, 2005, at the former Sierra Army Depot Base Chapel, in Herlong,  Calif.
A rosary preceded the service and a celebration of Tim's life followed at the Community Center in Doyle,  Calif.
A college fund has been established for Kacie Rae Adams at the Sierra Central Credit Union, in Herlong,  Calif.
