MICHAEL ROBERT LOWRY
Michael "Mikie" Robert Lowry passed away in his home on Aug. 12, 2005. He was 28 years old.
Mikie was born on Oct. 11, 1976, to Michael and Margarett Lowry, at Lassen Community Hospital in Susanville. He attended schools in Lassen County where he lived his entire life.
Mikie played t-ball, farm and minor league baseball when he was young. But his real passion was hunting and fishing.
Mikie worked for J and L Boat Repair, at Eagle Lake, for a short time just out of high school. He then went to work for his uncle Allen for the Susanville Indian Rancheria. He later went to work at the Sierra Army Depot, where he began dating his wife, Becky.
A few years later came Mikie and Becky's first baby, Baby Jocelyn. Jocelyn was born on June 7, 2002, and was called to heaven the same day. About a year later there was news of a new baby on the way. Baby Abby Leeann was born on Feb. 10, 2004.
What a proud and happy daddy he was. Mikie loved spending time with his new family. Mikie and his Little Hobbit, as he would call her, would spend hours in his garden that he was so proud of.
Mikie was preceded in death by his father Michael Lowry and his baby daughter Jocelyn.
He is survived by his wife Becky and daughter Abby; his mom Margarett and step-mom Deena; sisters Sharline and Shannon; step sister Ronde; step brothers Rob and Darrin; mother and father-in-law Kathy and Michael; brothers-in-law Mike, Patrick, Andy and Rob; uncles Tom, Ike, Allen, Doyle, and Tommy; aunts Patricia, Nanette, Sue, Shirley, Amanda, and Carol; great-aunt Virginia; grandma Nancy; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
A wake was held from 5 p.m. until daybreak on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. Funeral services were held at the Susanville Indian Rancheria Full Gospel Church on Aug. 19, 2005.
Mikie will be laid to rest beside his daughter, Jocelyn at the Susanville Indian Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Lassen County Federal Credit Union on behalf of Mikie and Becky's daughter Abby Leeann Lowry.

CHERYL ANN ALEXANDER
Cheryl Ann Alexander, 51, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer, did not awaken from a peaceful sleep on Wednesday morning, Aug. 17, 2005, in her Janesville home.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Eugene Alexander; her son Justin West, wife Laura, and grandchild Jordyn, of Las Vagas, Nev.; and siblings Cathy Meeks, Michael, Gary and Bradley Hoover. All were greatly loved by her.
She was preceded in her death by father Ralph Eugene Hoover, of  Oklahoma; mother Mary Katherine Elizabeth Day, of California; and siblings Bobby and Brian.
Cheryl Ann Hoover entered this world on July 21, 1954.
At that time neither the family, nor the world at large, knew the pleasure she would bring to those who came to know her.
She enjoyed her family to the utmost. Loyal and supportive through all the ups and downs that every family experiences, Cheryl was the constant reminder that a positive attitude and a well-timed smile could sooth the soul and smooth the bumpy roads in their lives.
She asked for little and needed little to make her happy.
Cheryl is best remembered for being easily embarrassed, her face turning beautiful shade of red each time.
If you didn't notice this you could always hear her little girl laugh.
It was an infectious laugh that made those around her want to join in.
Cheryl was a proud and happy mother for her son, Justin.
She reveled at being a T-ball coach for his team.
Never failing to be supportive of his achievements, Cheryl also guided him with love and affection in teaching him to persevere and learn from each mistake.
The addition of his wife Laura and a grandchild Jordyn into her life was the greatest joy for her.
The people in the Janesville area who came to know her discovered a woman of sincere compassion, a ready smile, and a quick wit.
Cheryl was at her happiest with a house full of people.
No one felt alone in her presence.
She deeply cared for all of her friends and never spoke an unkind word about them.
With an initial trepidation and apprehension, Cheryl learned to enjoy traveling with her husband Eugene Alexander.
Together, and with good friends, they shared the experiences of her first airplane ride, train travel, fifth wheel camping, and hundreds of hours in an automobile visiting family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the joy to know and love her.
Final farewell will be held at 4 p.m., Aug. 26, 2005, at Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville.
