Perinda Bottarini

Feb. 10, 1921 -- Feb. 11, 2003

Perinda Bottarini, 82, died Tuesday at Mt. Diablo Medical Center in Concord, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Bottarini was born to Telesfro and Teresina Pellegrini in Dalzell, Ill. She was a longtime Vallejo resident before moving to Concord six years ago.

She was a homemaker. She was also a charter member of the Young Ladies Institute and was an excellent cook and baker.

Mrs. Bottarini was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Rudolph "Chick" on Dec. 31, 1969; and her sisters, Meda Piano and Jeanette Passini.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise of San Francisco; son, Dick of Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vigil services will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 at Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1 p.m. Feb. 14 at St. Basil's Catholic Church, Vallejo. Burial will follow in All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo. Friends may call the mortuary 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 13.

Contributions are preferred to the American Heart or Lung Association.

Corona Schumacher

July 14, 1921 -- May 24, 2003

Corona Rose Eilers Schumacher, 81, died at home in American Canyon May 24 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mrs. Schumacher, also known as "Corky," was born in Dubuque, Iowa, and lived in American Canyon for 43 years.

She graduated in 1939 from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque and worked for American Optical Co. there for four years. She married her husband on Feb. 16, 1949, at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque.

She was a parishioner and communicant for 40 years at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Sodality for Mary and St. Vincent's Women Guild in the 1960s.

Mrs. Schumacher enjoyed traveling, doing puzzles, swimming, dancing and reading. She was a good rollerskater and won a trophy for playing basketball for Immaculate Conception Academy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Peter Eilers; sister, Rita Eilers Dawson; and brother, Eulogius Eilers.

Survivors include her husband, Ulysses of American Canyon; daughters, Evelyn (Thomas) Makris of Silverdale, Wash., and Paula of Kenyon, R.I.; sons, Steven of Roscoe, Ill., and Michael (Esther) of Lupfig, Switzerland; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 29 with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. May 30 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Vallejo. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Herman Campos

(June 11, 1921 - March 29, 2001)

Herman Campos, 79, died Thursday, March 29, at a local hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Campos was born in Vacaville and was a Suisun resident for 52 years and a Vallejo resident for 27 years. He was employed as a truck driver for Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 12 years and retired in 1986. Mr. Campos was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Fairfield Elks.

Survivors include his companion and POA, Naomi Hengemihle of Vallejo; daughter, Sharon (Steve) Jackovich of Eureka, Mo.; son, David of Tennessee; brothers, Joseph of Vacaville and John of Chico; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

No formal services will be held. Private inurnment. Arrangements by Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.

Patricia Dickerson

(Oct. 31, 1934 -- Nov. 16, 2001)

Patricia Dorotha Dickerson, 67, died Friday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-Vallejo after a long illness.

Miss Dickerson was born in Reno, and was a Vallejo resident. Commonly known as "Pattie," she worked at St. Catherine's Catholic Church for 18 years and the Kaiser Hospital Business Office for nine years; she retired in 2000. Miss Dickerson was a member of the Screen Actor's Guild, San Francisco Office, and was featured in several films and movies, including Pal Joey and Vertigo, serving as Kim Novak's double. She also did modeling assignments and voice-overs of commercials. Miss Dickerson was the president of Women's Society of St. Catherine's Church in Vallejo.

She was preceded in death by husband, Herbert E.; parents, Patrick F. Bushmiller and Olive A. Charleton; and grandparents, Oliver and Bertha Charleton.

Survivors are stepdaughters, Paulette Goff of Vallejo and Jeanelle Norris of Pogosa Springs,  Colo.; son, Royce A. Ratterman of Placerville; stepson, Richard W. Ratterman of Placerville; sister, Donna Alford of Honolulu; 10 grandchildren; three nephews and one niece.

Mass at 10 a.m., Dec. 3, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Vallejo, with Father William P. Kinane officiating. Ashes scattered.

Contributions preferred to St. Catherine's Building Fund.

Barbara Bunker

Nov. 1, 1921 -- May 8, 2002

Barbara Ethel Bunker, 80, died at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

Mrs. Bunker was born in Missoula, Mont., and lived in Vallejo for several years.

She worked as a secretary at the Diagnostic Learning Center, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the King's Daughters, The Order of the Eastern Star, and was a Red Cross Volunteer in the Philippines. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Peoria, C.H.C. Class and 55-plus group within the church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Johnson; brother, Francis Johnson; and two half brothers, Richard and Williard  White.

Survivors include her husband William Bunker of Peoria, Ill.; two sets of twins, Brad (Linda) of  Washington, Peggy (Butch) Ekena of Elmwood; Carolyn McConaghy and Carl (Jody) of Peoria; sister, Dorothy Louther of LeMesa; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m., May 21 at First United Methodist Church, Peoria, Ill. A funeral will follow 11 a.m., at the church with the Rev. Drs. W. Kenneth Pyles and Sigurd Bjorklund, and Rev. Marjorie Kennedy officiating. Arrangements made through Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Parkview Cemetery Mausoleum, Peoria, Ill.

Contributions can be made to The United Methodist Church, 116 North East Perry Ave., Peoria, Ill, 61603.

Fern Catling

Nov. 29, 1912 -- Sept. 21, 2002

Fern C. Catling, 89, died Saturday following a short illness.

Mrs. Catling was born in Missouri and resided in Fairfield for 62 years.

Mrs. Catling was a homemaker for 62 years. She was active in the PTA, Brownies, and the Local 4-H Club when her daughter was in school.

She enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing and knitting.

Mrs. Catling was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Jack" in 1965.

Mrs. Catling is survived by her daughter, Janet of Fairfield; three nephews in Fresno; three nephews in Georgia; many friends in Vallejo, Fairfield, and throughout Solano County.

At her request no formal services will be held. A private burial was held in the Suisun Fairfield Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St. No. 4A, Fairfield, Ca. 94533.
