Joseph Edward Thomas died Nov. 26.
Mr. Thomas was born and raised in Richmond.
He worked for 24 years as a truck driver for Safeway Trucking in Richmond.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Fleming; twin sister Josephine Edwards; sister, Dorothy Jean Roberts; brothers, Jethro and James; and his grandson, Aarron Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of Vallejo; daughters, Dionne; and Malon; son, Ty Von all of Sacramento; mother, Precious Jewell of Richmond; brothers, Elbert; Kary; and Willie Roberts; sisters, Mary Thomas Harris; Jackie Roberts; and Janice Sharpe; 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at Civic Center Chapel of Wilson & Kratzer Mortuaries in Richmond. Funeral service will be Dec. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at Sojourner Truth, 2621 Shane Drive, Richmond. Interment at Rolling Hills Memorial Park.
Kerenia Hieb
Aug. 13, 1913 -- Feb. 9, 2003
Kerenia Hieb, 89, died Sunday at Evergreen Living Center after a long illness.
She was born in Harrisburg, Pa., and was a Vallejo resident.
Mrs. Hieb was a clerk at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 20 years until retiring in 1976. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Dole Hardware for eight years.
Mrs. Hieb was member of the Emblem Club No. 371, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Myrtle Rebekah Lodge No. 15, IOOF, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, MO-LI-LA Court No. 3 Ladies Auxiliary FOE, Aerie No. 3028 and the Choral Society and Symphony Orchestra, Silver Star Chapter No. 3 OES, Nefru Ari Temple No. 17, Daughters of the Nile-Oakland, Harmony Nile Club No. 3 and Bethel Shrine No. 38.
She enjoyed playing violin and singing.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Silvester Sease.
Survivors include her husband, Allwin of Vallejo; daughter, Norma (Russell) Buckley of Coos Bay, Ore.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
No services were held. Entombment at Tulocay Cemetery
in Napa.

Barbara Maker
Dec. 21, 1917 -- May 25, 2003
Barbara Maker, 85, a native of Vallejo, died May 25 at home after a brief illness.
She was a resident of Sparks, Nev.
Mrs. Maker retired as a secretary from the Vallejo Unified School District and moved to Reno in 1997 with her husband, Archelaus, who died in 1998.
They were married in 1937 and lived in Vallejo until moving to Nevada.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Rumburg of Reno and Dianna Smith of Queensland, Australia; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
No services will be held. Her ashes will be scattered in the mountains.
Gloria Hollingsworth
(Dec. 5, 1936 - April 9, 2001)
Gloria Jean Hollingsworth, 64, died Monday at a hospital as a result of illness.
Mrs. Hollingsworth, commonly known as "Bunchy," was born in Greenville, Texas and was a Vallejo resident. She was an avid church-goer and belonged to several churches in the Bay Area. Mrs. Hollingsworth enjoyed crafts of all kinds, sewing, cooking, and making porcelain dolls.
She was preceded in death by parents, Garrett Moton and Lena Mae Moton.
Survivors include daughters, Sheila McGriff of Grand Prairie, Texas, Detra Dyson of Stafford, Va., Cynthia Sheppard of San Francisco, and Sherrie Dismuke of Vallejo; son, Larry of Tampa, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral at 11 a.m. today at Cooley & Riolo Mortuary, Vallejo, with Sr. Fergie Owens officiating. Burial in Center Point Cemetery, Greenville, Texas.
Lionor Padilla
(Aug. 2, 1908 - May 29, 2001)
Lionor Cota Padilla, 92, died Tuesday at a local hospital following a short illness.
Mrs. Padilla was born in Palo Verde, Ariz., and was a Vallejo resident for 49 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Andres O.; daughter, Rachel P. Chabiel; and son, Robert C. A daughter, Margaret C., preceded her in death by three days, on May 26.
Survivors include daughters, Elvira C., Estella (Adolph) Amavisca, and Consuelo P. (Ronald) Dunn, all of Vallejo; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Skyview Funeral Chapel, Vallejo. Service, 11 a.m. Friday at Skyview Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Epifanio Cota Jr. of Apostolic Assembly, Tulare and the Rev. Eliseo C. Lopez of Apostolic Assembly, San Jose will officiate. Burial in Skyview Memorial Lawn.

Stella Green

Stella Green, 92, died Monday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Green was born in New Orleans and was a Vallejo resident. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are daughters, Lois (Edward) Francis of New Orleans, and Stella M. Davis, Emelda Stewart and Eloise McNair, all of Vallejo; sons, Donald of New Orleans, and Thomas Jr., Roy, and Roger, all of Vallejo; brother, Sterling Hayward of New Orleans, 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Skyview Funeral Chapel, Vallejo. Funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Skyview Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Joseph Flowers of Friendship Baptist Church-Vallejo, officiating. Burial in Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.
