Mary Stefaniak-Priolette
July 6, 1945 -- Feb. 1, 2003
Mary "Mary Kay" Katherine Stefaniak-Priolette, 57, died Feb. 1 at her Vallejo home after a long illness.
Born in Rochester, Pa., she moved to Vallejo in 1988. Before working 30 years at Kaiser Medical Center-Vallejo, she was a nurse anesthetist at a Pittsburgh, Pa., children's hospital.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Vallejo.
The widow of Paul J. Priolette, she was also preceded in death by daughter Tina Marie Priolette and parents Nicholas Sr. and Anna Stefaniak.
Survivors include daughter Taijannan Priolette of Vallejo, stepson John Priolette of Warren, Ohio; sister Barbara Stefaniak of Sloatsburg, N.Y.; brother Nicholas (Barbara) Stefaniak of Phoenix.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 6 in the church, with visitation from 4 to 9 p.m. Feb. 6 at Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo. Vigil and rosary services will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private in All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo. Friar Pat Stephenson of Holy Family Parish, American Canyon, will officiate the services.

Helen Phillips
June 16, 1921 -- May 25, 2003
Helen Katherine "Nana" Phillips, 81, of Napa died May 25 at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born in California and was a 32-year Napa resident.
Mrs. Phillips, a homemaker for 59 years, was known as "Mom" or "Nana" even to those who were not her children or grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Arthur.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosemarie Middleton of Novato, Dianemarie of Lockeford, Janet of Vacaville and Michelle of Napa; sons, Arthur of Fairfield, John of Arizona, Gregory of American Canyon, and Mark, Thomas and Joseph, all of Napa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. May 29 at Colonial Chapels.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. May 30 at Holy Family Mission, 1241 Niewbaum Lane, Rutherford. Burial will follow at the Chapel of the Chimes, Napa.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Hospice of Napa Valley, 3299 Claremont Way, Napa, CA 94558.
Ada Brooks
(Nov. 13, 1907 - April 1, 2001)
Ada Laura Brooks, 93, died Sunday at a local convalescent hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Bryson City, N.C. and was a Vallejo resident for 30 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Frank C. in 1987; and a daughter, Josephine.
Survivors include daughter, Betty J. (Paul) Cleary of Vallejo; son, Roy N. of Vallejo; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Skyview Garden Chapel, Vallejo. Private funeral. Private burial in Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.

Joan Stra
(Dec. 27, 1946 -- Feb. 9. 2002)
Joan Marie Larsen Stra, 55, of Benicia, died Saturday at her home following a long illness. She was a native of Albany, N.Y.
Mrs. Stra worked as a welfare fraud investigator for the social services department of Contra Cost County for many years before retiring in 2001.
Mrs. Stra was a graduate of Mercy High School in Albany, New York, and the University of California Berkeley.
She was a member of St. Dominic's Parish as well as the church's adoration council and was a volunteer tutor for the city of Benicia Literary Program. Mrs. Stra especially loved Christmas with family, reading, traveling, working in her rose garden and going to movies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dominick Gigante.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Stra Jr., of Benicia; daughter, Kristen Larsen, of Vallejo; stepdaughters, Carmen Ortiz, of Susanville, and Dawn Bradshaw, of Vacaville; stepsons, Joseph (Andrea) Stra III, of Bend, Ore.; mother, Isabel Gigante, of Rensselaer, New York; sisters, Kathleen Glebatis, of Vallejo, and Janet (William) Burke, of Rensselaer, New York; brother, Paul Gigante, of Loudonville, New York; grandson, Joshua Greene and six step-grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Wednesday, St. Dominic's Church, Benicia. Burial will follow in St. Dominic's Cemetery, Benicia. Friends may call at the mortuary after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Amanda Morley
Aug. 1, 1908 -- Sept. 19. 2002
Amanda Morley, 94, died at Kaiser Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Morley, also known as "Ma Dear," was born in Bovina, Miss. and was a Vallejo resident.
She was a member of Good Samaritan Church in Vallejo.
Mrs. Morley was preceded in death by her husband Booker Sr.; sons, Booker, Jr.; and Freddie.
Her survivors include daughters, Beverly Burton of Vallejo; and Natalie (Paul) Guillory of Vallejo; brother, Tommy Stokes of Atlanta, Ga.; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Sept. 24 with a 7 p.m. Quiet Hour at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sept. 25 at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home with Elder Jimmie Thrower, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be private.
Clinton Wallace
Dec. 13, 1912 -- Nov. 18, 2002
Clinton Wallace, Jr., 89, died at home Nov. 18 at home after a long illness.
Born in Houma, La., he was a resident of Vallejo for 60 years.
He worked for SYUFY Enterprises for 30 years and for the Benicia Arsenal for 15 years.
Mr. Wallace enjoyed hunting and fishing; he was a San Francisco Giants fan.
His wife, Winnie preceded him in death.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his daughters, Gwen (Angel) Chavarria and Carolyn (Tino) DeOcampo, both of Vallejo; stepdaughter, Carol Ann Franis of Louisiana; son, Gregory of Vallejo; sisters, Gloria Butler and Marguerite VanBuren both of Sacramento; Lucille Butler of Los Angeles; brothers, Norris of Vallejo; Charles and J.C. of Sacramento; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 22 at Skyview Funeral Chapel, Vallejo. A funeral will be held 11 a.m., Nov. 23 at Skyview Funeral Chapel. Entombment at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, Vallejo.
