Dorothy Stephenson

(Sept. 9, 1924 - March 28, 2001)

Dorothy Anne Stephenson, 76, died Wednesday at home following a long illness.

Mrs. Stephenson was born in Vallejo and was a previous Vallejo resident before moving to Red Bluff 10 years ago. She was employed as a secretary for Vallejo Unified School District for 26 years and retired in 1986. Mrs. Stephenson was a 1942 graduate of St. Vincent's High School, and was a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church, and St. Martha's Unit of Catholic Social Service Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood on June 19, 1978; and brother, Raymond Power on Oct. 31, 1981.

Survivors include daughter, Jeanne Ann Burton of Red Bluff; son, William (Martine) of Vallejo; grandchildren, Lesa Harris, Monica Lewis, Automne and Toni Burton, and Tiffany; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo. Recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Chapels. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Basil's Catholic Church. Burial in All Souls Catholic Cemetery.

Elizabeth Baba

Jan. 21, 1909 -- Nov. 18, 2002

Elizabeth Mae Baba, 93, died in a local convalescent hospital after a long illness on Monday.

Mrs. Baba was born in Owensboro, Ken., and was a Vallejo resident for five years.

Mrs. Baba was a rancher in Turlock. She was also a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Her husband, Joseph preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1997.

Survivors include her daughters, Pattie (Philip) Kempf of Vallejo and Betty Givargis of Reseda; sons, John (Koo-hwa) and Joseph, Jr. both of Fresno; grandchildren, Nenus, Sargon and Ashur Givargis, Michael and Jacquelyn and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Nov. 24, with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo. A Catholic prayer service will be held at 2 p.m., Nov. 25 at Colonial Chapels. Burial at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.

Coni Aubrey

March 8, 1949 -- Jan. 31, 2003

Coni Irene Aubrey, 53, died at home in San Francisco after a brief illness.

Ms. Aubrey was born in Exeter, raised in Vallejo and lived in San Francisco until her time of death.

She worked for the Solano County Sheriff's Department for 16 years, retiring approximately 10 years ago.

She enjoyed reading, dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and church activities.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlo Baker of Lancaster; son-in-law, Mike Baker of Lancaster, parents, Irene and Auggie Cecchini of Vallejo; sisters, Gayle Hooper of Vallejo and Carolene Griffin of North Carolina; brother, Russ Aubrey of Vallejo; three grandchildren, Bryce; Vance; and Alexandria Baker, all of Lancaster and a host of nieces and nephews.

No services will be held.

Rosetta Taylor

(May 23, 1933 - March 25, 2001)

Rosetta Marie Taylor, 67, died Sunday at Sutter Solano Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs.  Taylor was born in Deridder, La., and was a Vallejo resident. She was employed as a nurse at Crestwood Convalescent Home for 25 years and retired in 1994. Mrs.  Taylor was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Oriental #69 Prince Hall Rite of Adoption. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, plants, and goldfish.

She was preceded in death by her husband; grandparents, William and Millie Hicks-Stroud; and parents, Fred and Amanda Stroud-Lewis.

Survivors include daughters, Fiesta Willis of Oakland, Alethia Brinkley of Austin,  Texas, Charlotte Robinson of Richmond, and Billie Brinkley of Vallejo; son, Charles Brinkley Jr. of Vallejo; grandmother, Millie Hicks-Stroud; sisters, Irene Casey of Vallejo and Sadie Hodge of Fresno; brothers, Harold Allen and Joseph Donnell Lewis; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Path Miracle C.O.G.I.C., Vallejo, with Elder Norwood Reason officiating. Burial in Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo. Arrangements by Cooley & Riolo Mortuary, Vallejo.

Grace Mc Lean

Nov. 1, 1923 -- Sept. 17, 2002

Grace Lillian Mc Lean, 78, died Sept. 17 at Heartwood Living Center after a long illness.

Born in West Lafayette, Ind., she was a current resident of Vallejo.

She was a programmer for the Port of Oakland for 15 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in World War II.

She was also a creative designer of needle point and loved her motor vessel "Colleen."

Survivors include her sisters, Jean Rosenau of Tallahassee, Fla.; Ruth Korte of Vallejo and brother, Bill Aitkenhead of Narragansett, R.I.

Services will be held, 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West Mc Cabe Rd., Gustine with a U.S. Naval Honor Guard officiating. Burial to follow.

Kaala Regalado

May 9, 1956 -- April 1, 2003

Kaala S. Regalado, 46, died Monday at home after a long illness.

She was born in Hawaii and had lived in Pinole for 20 years prior to moving to Vallejo 26 years ago.

Miss Regalado was a bookkeeper for 15 years.

Her brother, Bishop Houghtailing, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her companion, David McGee of Richmond; parents, Josephine Houghtailing of Vallejo and Joseph Houghtailing of San Pablo; sisters, Linda Maile of San Pablo and Judy Houghtailing of Vallejo; brothers, Jesse and Edward Houghtailing both of Vallejo; an aunt, four nieces, four nephews and a host of other family members.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., April 4 at Skyview Funeral Chapel, Vallejo.
