Charles Fuller

(Jan. 22, 1939 - July 30, 2001)

Charles E. Fuller, 62, died July 30, at a hospital as a result of a stroke.

Mr. Fuller was born in Mississippi, and was a Vallejo resident. Commonly known as "Charlie," he was employed with the Alameda County Probation Department for 20 years and retired in 2001. Mr. Fuller was a former Oakland Raider football player.

Survivors include daughters, Sydney Fuller- Jones of Boston, Leah of Oakland, Erin of Richmond, Adelya Fuller X of San Francisco, and Carlera of Vallejo; sons, Jeffery of Fairfield, Charles II of Oakland, and Isaac of Oakland; sisters, Barbara Nero, Kathy, and Letrice, all of Detroit; brothers, James of Palo Alto and Karl of Vallejo; and three grandchildren.

Memorial, 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooley & Riolo Mortuary, Vallejo, with Pastor Norwood Reason officiating. Private inurnment.

Odessie Lockhart

(Sept. 29, 1917 -- Nov. 5, 2001)

Odessie Lockhart, 84, died Nov. 5 at Kindred Hospital in San Leandro following a long illness.

A native of Little Rock, Ark., she had lived in Oakland 20 years, she was a homemaker.

Her husband, Eddie preceded her in death in 1970.

She is survived by her daughter, Willie Mae (George) Love of Hayward; son, Lorenzo Lockhart of Las Vagas; and seven grandchildren.

Service and a private burial was held at Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.

Catherine Verducci

(July 9, 1915 -- Feb. 10, 2002)

Catherine Verducci, 86, died Sunday at a hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Verducci was born in San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily, and was a Vallejo resident since 1941. She was a homemaker, and worked as a seamstress for Rough Rider Co. Mrs. Verducci was a member of St. Basil's, Sons of Italy, Italian Catholic Federation, Visually Impaired (Fairfield), Adult Senior Social Club, and North Bay Nite Cap. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A; and a son, John F.

Survivors are daughter, Roseann (Jerry) Bradley of Durham; son, Anthony J. (Susan) of Vallejo; and grandchildren, Michael and Lisa Verducci of Vallejo, and Sicily, Nicholas, and Christopher Bradley of Durham.

Friends can call at Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo, after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Twin Chapels. Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Basil's Church, Vallejo, with Father Leon officiating. Entombment in All Souls Cemetery, Vallejo.

Contributions preferred to St. Basil's or SPSV.

Raymond Corbett

(Dec. 28, 1942 -- Feb. 28, 2002)

Raymond M. Corbett, 59, died Thursday at his home in San Pablo, after battling cancer for five years.

Born in Lakeview, Ore., he lived in Oakland from 1966 to 1980 when he moved to San Pablo. Mr. Corbett graduated class of 1961 from Vallejo Senior High School. He was in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he spent five years, from September 1962 to September 1967.

Mr. Corbett worked for Simmons Mattress Company of San Leandro for 23 years. He worked throughout his illness until one month ago. He was a member of the United Furniture Workers of America Local, 262.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 31 years, Rosalina; children, Jessica and James both of San Pablo; brother, Ronald of Vallejo; and a host of friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m., today at Wilson & Kratzer Mortuaries, Chapel of the Mission Bells, San Pablo. A funeral service of remembrance will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, San Pablo. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, San Pablo.

Annabelle Wilson

Dec. 1, 1908 -- May 25, 2002

Annabelle M. Wilson, 93, died Saturday at Sunbridge Health Care Center in Vallejo, after a brief illness.

Born in Trinidad,  Colo., she was a Vallejo resident 60 years.

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker most of her life, in earlier years she was a baby-sitter for several Vallejo families. She had been living with her daughter the past five months. She was also a Red Cross volunteer.

She enjoyed participating in activities at the Hilltop Center on Tuesday's, needlework, crocheting, sewing and making lap robes for the Red Cross.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Everett in 1959; daughter, Mary Lou Brown in 2000; her brother, Harold Crane in 2002.

Survivors include her daughter, Mildred Pettit of Vallejo; son, Donald (Jean) Wilson of Battleground, Wash.; sister, Frances Chapman of Denver; brother, James Crane of LaJunta,  Colo.; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m., with a funeral following at 10 a.m., May 30 at Skyview Funeral Chapel, Vallejo. Burial at Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.

Carmelita Yldefonzo

Oct. 12, 1932 -- Sept. 13, 1932

Carmelita San Pablo Yldefonzo, 69, died Friday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-San Francisco, after a short illness.

Born in the Philippines, she was a resident of Vallejo for 13 years.

Mrs. Yldefonzo worked as a CNA at Laguna Honda Convalescent Hospital in San Francisco for 15 years, before retiring in 2001.

Mrs. Yldefonzo was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking and watching the Food Network on television.

Survivors include her husband, Carlos of Vallejo; sister, Esteria Centeno of the Philippines; brothers, Feliciano, Jr. of San Francisco; Robert and Bong both of Stockton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 1 to 9 p.m. Sept. 22, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 23, with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 11 a.m., Sept. 24 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Vallejo. Burial at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.

Vivien Atwood

Aug. 13, 1912 -- Feb. 17, 2003

Vivien T. Atwood, 90, of Vallejo, died Feb. 17 in a Vallejo convalescent hospital after a long illness.

Born in Oktaha, Okla., Mrs. Atwood lived in Napa for 50 years before moving to Vallejo in 2000.

Mrs. Atwood worked in the supply department and later the pattern shop at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard during World War II. Previously, she managed a candy store in San Francisco and worked in a bakery in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Atwood was the Past Worthy Matron of Silver Spray Chapter 59 of Order of Eastern Star, past president of the Napa Valley Nile Club 4, past president of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Association of OES, and past president of the Royal Arch Keystone Ladies Association.

She also was a member of Nefru-Ari Temple Daughters of the Nile in Oakland, Napa Grange, Napa First Presbyterian Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Siverado Sixties, Sew and Sew Club, Napa Historical Society and Napa Genealogical Society.

Mrs. Atwood is the widow of Rolland F. Atwood. She also was preceded in death by parents Walton T. and Tempie (Cain) Gooch; brothers Howard and Henry Gooch; several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Survivors include stepdaughters Barbara Miller and Dorris Lubkeman of Vallejo, Patricia McDill of Napa and four nieces.

There will be no services. Inurnment will be private in Tulocay Cemetery. Richard Pierce Funeral Services, Napa, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2065 W. El Camino Real, Ste. C, Mountain View, CA 94040, or to a favorite charity.
