RAIMUNDO, BEVERLY JEAN Born July 22, 1928 in San Antonio,  Texas. Passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2001. Loving wife of Armando L. Raimundo for 48 Years; also survived by daughter, Claudia Dondero; sister, Patricia Kimbrell; grandsons and great-grandsons; and numerous nephews and nieces. Past President of the American Legion Fort Sutter Ladies Auviliary 392, 3 years Past President of 40/8 La Societe de Femme Cabine 268, 1st Vice and 2nd Vice President of the Grand of California, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 67, 19 year member of American Business Women's Association, Member of the Children Receiving Home Guild of Sacramento. She was a very talented person working with art and crafts for many organizations. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday 11AM, November 4, 2001 at the American Legion Post 61, 1500 H Street, Sacramento. Reception following memorial at the same Post. ROBERTSON, WENDELL Born December 4, 1912 in Benton, Illinois. He passed away on October 29, 2001 in Roseville, California. He was predeceased by his wife Ina Rose Robertson. Beloved father to Philip Robertson and his wife Birgit, Barbara Locke and her husband Richard. Beloved grandfather to Ian Robertson, Kristina Robertson, Jeffrey Chastain, Stephen Chastain and his wife Kendra, Jeffrey Locke and his wife Traci, Kelly Locke; Loving great grandfather to 9 great grandchildren and loving brother to Brady Robertson and his wife Josephine. Wendell was raised in Southern Illinois. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, seeing action in the Normandy Invasion and the South Pacific. Following his military service, Wendell and his family farmed in the Benton area for several years before moving to Sacramento. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, 11/1 from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, 11/2 from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday, 11/3 from 12 to 6 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park; 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, 11/3 at 10 am at Christ Community Church; 5025 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael.

ROBINSON, MICHAEL J. Born Feb. 1, 1949 in Sacramento, CA.
Passed away on Oct. 30, 2001 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Long time resident of Sacramento, Mike was a well known ceramic tile setter and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his children, his father, and brothers and sisters.
Services will be private.

SCHAEFER, GERALD Gerald passed away in Sacramento, California, October 30, 2001, at the age of 68. Beloved father to Tina Riordan of Elk Grove, CA, and Scott Schaefer of Sacramento, CA. He is survived by 4 Grandchildren, Nicole Riordan, Julian Riordan, Ashley Riordan, and Megan Riordan. Loving brother of Richard Schaefer, Betty Burkholder, Mary Kammann, and Walter (Bud) Schaefer. A native of St. Paul, MN and a resident of Sacramento, CA for 63 years. Just to name a few, he belonged to the Armvets, VFW, and Senior Companions. He enjoyed educating himself with computers and crosswords. Also, he enjoyed helping and caring for others and he had a great outlook on life. He loved his family and he will be missed by those who knew him. Friends and relative are welcome to join family for a Memorial Service on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001 at 1:00PM, at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd.

STEWART, RICHARD M. In Roseville November 1, 2001. Mr. Stewart was born June 14, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY and was 69 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Stewart was a Construction Equipment Salesman for 30 years, served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Carmichael Elks Lodge. He is survived by his son Michael Stewart of Citrus Heights and his daughter Debra Reeves of Rio Linda. Also survived by 4 grandchildren. TAYLOR, WILLIAM H. Born February 8, 1922 in Big Horn Wyoming. Died at home October 31, 2001 of emphysema and diabetes. Beloved father to Greg  Taylor of Sacramento, CA. Brother to Alice Pearse of Alameda, CA and brother-in-law to June Hilton of Fair Oaks, CA and Phyllis  Taylor of Dixon, CA. Preceded in death by his brother Harold  Taylor and Frances Louise Taylor, his wife of 48 years, in 1994. Moved to Winters in early childhood with family in 18 month journey in two wagon teams from Wyoming. Moved to Dixon in 1934 and graduated in 1940. Upon graduation he began work for Mace Meat Packing Co. in Dixon. Working through the ranks of responsibility for a 40 year career in the lamb industry, he retired as head of the Lamb Sales Department for Armour Meat Co. in Dixon. He volunteered for duty in WWII and was selected for the Navy Signal Corp and served on British ships to instruct new British allied ships after D-Day in the South Pacific Theater. Loved the pursuits of hunting and fishing with his son, family and long time friends. He held a keen interest in history and current events, and held a inner reverence for the wonders of the natural world, and concern for the well-being of the world we are shaping. Many years, many friends and many happy memories. Your smile, your generosity, and your love will be eternally remembered. Remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association. Services will be held Monday, November 5 at 1:30 pm at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon, CA.

VANINA, ERNEST W. USAFR (Ret) Born in Santa Maria, CA, July 31, 1918. Died in Sacramento, CA, Oct. 31, 2001, after a long illness. Served honorably and proudly as a navigator in World War ll, the Korean War and the Air Force Reserves. Beloved husband of Ann for 51 years. Devoted father of Richard, Robert and Patricia Vanina. Dear grandfather of Stacy, Nicholas, Jenna, Lindsay and Lauren Vanina and two he loved as grandchildren, Jaquelin Luna and Dominic Staley. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend will be sadly missed. Services will be private.

WAUGH, Dr. SUSAN MCGOWAN On Thursday morning, November 1st, Dr. Susan McGowan-Waugh passed away in her home. Her loving husband, George, and her beloved Queensland heeler, Punkerboy were both at her side. She had spent the last several years in a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. November 1st was the anniversary of her marriage to George. She was a young 57 years of age. Susan was born and raised in San Diego. She received her B.A. in Economics at U.C. Berkeley in 1965, and her Ph.D. at U.C. Davis in 1977. She began her teaching career with California State University, Sacramento in 1974, as a Professor of Economics. In January 1997, Susan was appointed Associate Dean of the College of Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Studies. Susan had a great love for her students and colleagues. The joy she received from watching her students flower into their potential was the absolute core of her being. Her love for helping people exceeded the walls of the university and into her personal relationships and friendships with those in her daily life. She also took great pride in the beautiful gardens around her home and loved putting the flowers in the ground and watching them grow. Susan was a true treasure to all who were fortunate enough to have shared in her life. She will most certainly be remembered with a smile by all who knew her. CSUS will be holding a memorial in Susan's honor on Monday, November 19th at 3:00p.m. The memorial will he held in the University Union, in the Student Board Chambers.

BAEZ, RALPH JR. In this city, October 30, 2001. Aged 77. Beloved husband of the late Mary E. Baez. Loving and devoted father of Mary Louise Baez and the late Rose Marie Baez. Loved brother of Benjamin, Alfred and Arthur Baez, Frances Valencia, Madeline Aguilar and the late Lupe Blanco. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Sacramento, CA. Graduate of Grant High School, U.S. Army Air Corpsman and WWII Veteran, McClellan Air Force Base Civilian for 35 years, and Pinkerton Security Guard. Member of Sacred Heart Church, Central Lions Club, Mexican Athletic Club, Mexican-American Hall of Fame and PTA. President of Sacred Heart School Dad's Club and Ballet Folklorico de Sacramento. Friends are welcome at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home at 5401 Folsom Blvd. Friday, Nov. 2 for a vigil service at 3:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered for the repose of his soul, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Private Inurnment. Memorials preferred to American Diabetes Association.

BAUER, JO ANN A 27 year resident of Yuba City, passed away October 24, 2001. Born November 21, 1932 in Carey,  Texas to George and Bonnie Freeland. Preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Bauer. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, William D. "Bill" Bauer; her children, Deborah Franklin and husband Douglas Mitten, and Mark Bauer; her grandchildren, Andrew Franklin, William "Will" Bauer and wife Kelly, Scott Franklin, Rebecca Bauer, Whitney Leisenring, and Melissa Bauer; her great grandsons, Zachary Ivan Gray, and William Douglas Bauer; her siblings, Robert Freeland, and Norene Wilson, and numerous other family members and friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 4, at 2PM in the Church of the Valley at Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, or the Lupus Foundation of America.

FARNHAM, GEORGE J. Former State Information Officer and Sacramento Bee Editor. Memorial Services for George Joseph Farnham, a former Information Officer for DMV and for the Department of Food and Agriculture and Copy Editor for The Sacramento Bee will be at 10:00am Saturday, at W.F. Gormley and Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave. George Farnham, an Oakland native, died Tuesday in a north area convalescent hospital. He was 82. Mr. Farnham spent his early years at St.Vincent's Home for Boys in San Raphael and went on to graduate from St. Mary's College after serving in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II. He was a reporter and sports editor for the Chico Enterprise-Record, an editor for the Roseville Press- Tribune and a part time copy editor for The Sacramento Bee. He served as Assistant Information Officer for the Division of Highways and Information Officer for the Department of Fish and Game, Food and Agriculture and Motor Vehicles. He also produced documentary films for the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in New Mexico. He retired in 1990. He is survived by his six children, Alf Farnham of Seattle, Nancy Williams of Vallejo and Susan Laudi, Michael, Joel and John Farnham, all of Sacramento, eleven grandchildren and his friend, Doris Vettel. He preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Eula, who passed away in 1990. Viewing has been scheduled from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, also in the Gormley funeral home. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent, One St. Vincent Drive, San Raphael, Ca. 94903.

GOODWIN, Gerald W. "Jerry" In Sacramento, CA October 30, 2001. Husband of Frances Goodwin. Survived by his in-laws: Asencion and Nena Aguilera, Nancy Correa and many nieces and nephews. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years of service. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, and a Sergeant in the S.A.C. Air Rescue Fire Weapons Control. HARLAN, MARILYN K. Age 69, passed away at her home in Carmichael on October. 26, 2001. She is survived by her children, Susan C. Harlan, Patricia A. Harlan, Robert R. Harlan Jr., son-in-law Cal Johnson, sister Lila Thaden, niece Julie Scott and nephew Michael Thaden. Marilyn truly loved life to the fullest even during her very debilitating illness. The light of her life has gone to be enjoyed by her heavenly Father. Her special sparkle will be greatly missed--yet our hearts will burn brightly forever with her memory. KINCAID, KATHRYN L. Born November 16, 1916 in Rush County, Indiana. Passed away October 29, 2001 in Sacramento, California. Kathryn Kincaid was the co-founder of Kincaids's Ethan Allen Gallery. She loved the business she helped start and managed the business until 1990. Tommy and Kathryn (Kay) built the business on wonderful service and a special caring for all their clients. Kathryn was a quiet but strong lady, who had a way of keeping the business together even in tough times. She was delightful to be around, easy to talk to, and always generous in doing what she could for others. Her willingness to listen to anyone at anytime was her greatest gift. Her office door was always open and she gave everyone a caring and concerned heart. She was also a member of the Soroptimist Club. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Tommy Kincaid; and her son, Ted G. Kincaid. She is survived by her son Ron Kincaid and wife Judy; daughter-in-law, Carol Kincaid; grandchildren, Nicole, Brian, and Jennifer Kincaid, Karen Gierman and husband Mike, David, and Tim Kincaid; great-grandchildren, Cheresse, and Megan Kincaid. She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Vail, and Mary Hiatt. Friends are invited to visitation Friday, November 2nd, 4PM-8PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3rd, 11AM in the Church of the Valley at Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California. LAHR, PATRICIA JEAN Of Marysville, passed away October 29, 2001, age 71. Born January 22, 1930 in Gilroy, CA to Russel and Rose (Sories) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald L. Lahr who died May 1, 2001. She is survived by four sons, Donald L. Lahr Jr. of Folsom, John P. of Marysville, Gary J. of Doyle, CA and Robert K. of Citrus Heights; and 8 grandchildren. She was a graduate of Grant High School. Patricia was a homemaker, and loved to travel with her husband, especially after his retirement. She was a wonderful cook and loved her flower garden. According to her wishes, private service will be held. Burial is at Greenwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grass Valley. The family requests donations to American Cancer Society in Memory of Patricia J. Lahr. Burial arrangements by Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, Inc. 530-265-2429.
