Clyde D. Adams
Services will be Friday for Clyde David Adams, who died Saturday in Aptos. He was 77.

He was born and raised in Cheswick, Pa., where he attended Springdale High School.

He was in the Army Signal Corps. He worked for Western Electric, AT&T and Pacific Bell.

He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He coached several youth sports teams.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Cabrillo Host Lions, Telephone Pioneers of America and Seniors in Retirement.

Mr. Adams is survived by daughter Jacquelyn Richardson of Port  Washington, N.Y.; sons David Adams of Citrus Heights, Edward Adams of San Jose and Scott Adams of Freedom; and seven grandchildren.

His wife, Helen Adams, died before him.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, sailing from the Santa Cruz harbor.

George Tegenkamp
Funeral services will be Tuesday for George Tegenkamp, who died at his home in Watsonville on Friday. He was 76.

A native of Delphos, Ohio, he worked for Baldwin, Lima and Hamilton Crane Co. in Lima before moving to Watsonville in 1967 to work for Granite Rock Co. He was manager of the Granite Rock asphalt plant in Aromas for 20 years.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Valley Catholic Church, where he attended services regularly. He was a member of SIRS and loved to golf and enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Mary Tegenkamp; four daughters, Becky Campos of Watsonville; Terry Martin of Haviland, Ohio; Sarah Hasson of Edgerton, Ohio, and Judy Cunningham of Largo, Fla.; two sons, Mark Tegenkamp of Soquel, and Rick Tegenkamp of Salinas; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Valley Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville.

A funeral mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.

Contributions are preferred to the Heart Association, 1514 Moffett St., Salinas,  Calif. 93905.

Raymond L. Soito

Services will be Wednesday for Raymond L. Soito, who died Saturday at Sunbridge Convalescent Hospital in Watsonville. He was 84.

Born in Niles, he came to the Watsonville area from Fremont in 1938. He was a self-employed dairyman, retiring seven years ago.

He was a member of the Green Valley Christian Center of Watsonville.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cecilia Soito, of Watsonville; a daughter, Rae Deane Soito of Watsonville; two foster children, Robert and Roxanne Hoover of Watsonville; two brothers, Albert Soito of Arizona and Filbert Soito of Paradise; and three sisters, Florence Askew of San Jose, Eleanor Stevens of Watsonville and Carrie Simunovich of San Jose.

Friends may call at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, from 2 to 5 p.m. and then 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.

Melba Irene Pillsbury

Services were held for Melba Irene Pillsbury, who died Friday after a long illness. She was 77.

She was a lifelong Santa Cruz resident, the daughter of Giovanni and Josephine (Mersaroli) Anino. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School.

Mrs. Pillsbury’s attention in recent years was focused on her nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Darla Hoge of Union City and Lynn Edmondson and Arlene Blanton of Santa Cruz; son-in-law Gary Blanton; son Stan Pillsbury of Santa Cruz; daughter-in-law Sandy Pillsbury; and sisters Marjorie Comstock and Jeanette Camarda of Santa Cruz.

Her husband of 33 years, Stanley Pillsbury, died in 1978. Her sister, Dorothy Hunter, also died before her.

Contributions are preferred to the American Diabetes Association, 1475 S. Bascom Ave., No. 103, Campbell, CA 95008.

Norman’s Family Chapel in Soquel was in charge of arrangements.

David E. Bushman M.D.
Private services were held for David E. Bushman M.D., who died Aug. 8 at home in Grand Marais, Minn. after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 70.

Dr. Bushman was a native of Minnesota and a resident of Watsonville for 28 years.

He was raised in Grand Marais, where he graduated from high school. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1955 with a degree in medicine. He later interned at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Ore.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958.

In 1958, he moved to Santa Rosa to join a family medical practice at Sonoma County Hospital. He joined the Belvins & Neumann medical group in Woodland in 1960 and moved to Watsonville to join the Wood, Dupuy and Hoskins medical group in 1962. He worked with partners Percy Jonat and Felix Alfaro until his retirement in 1990.

He served on many medical boards and committees in Watsonville, including two terms as chief of staff at Watsonville Community Hospital.

Dr. Bushman is survived by wife Jean Bushman; sons Michael Bushman of Aromas, and Peter Bushman of Martinsburg, W.Va.; daughters Susan Kelly of Castroville, Sandra Gallagher of Watsonville, Jane Goshgarian of Virginia Beach, Va., and Catherine Hollenbeck of Grand Marais, Minn.; brothers Everett Bushman of Gig Harbor, Wa. and Michael Bushman of Stuart, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.

His son Daniel Bushman died in 1954.

A memorial celebration will be later in Watsonville.

James A. Cody
Services are Saturday for James A. Cody, who died Sunday in Sacramento. He was 83.

Mr. Cody lived in Citrus Heights for many years and moved to Santa Cruz in 1984 after retiring. He was an active member of the Catholic Church and was involved in many community services, including 65 years with the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Cody served in the Air Force in Europe during World War II. He loved the ocean and spending time with his many friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace; several children and grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A rosary and memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento.

Contributions are preferred to Kaiser Hospice Program, 2025 Morse Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825, or to Mount St. Joseph Retreat Center, P.O. Box 547, Loomis, CA 95650.

Rose Bianchini

No services are planned for Rose Bianchini, who died Monday in Santa Cruz. She was 99.

Mrs. Bianchini was born in Friuli, Italy, and was a longtime resident of Pleasanton. She moved to the Santa Cruz area three years ago to be near her son. Mrs. Bianchini worked in canneries and owned and operated her own coffee shop with her sister in Oakland. She was an excellent cook who loved spending time with family.

She is survived by son Gary Bianchi of Santa Cruz; sister Jenet Touya of Garden Grove; and three grandchildren.

Her husband, David Bianchini, her son, Dale Bianchi and her daughter, Gloria Miners, died before her.

Burial will be at Pleasanton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.

Dolores V. Marinovich

Services are Friday for Dolores V. "Dolly" Marinovich, who died Monday at Watsonville Community Hospital following a long illness. She was 76.

Mrs. Marinovich was born in Monterey and lived in Watsonville for most of her life. She worked for Pacific Fruit Express for 35 years, and was a member of Valley Catholic Church and a former Eastern Star member. She enjoyed fishing, camping, flea markets, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by former husband and friend Nick Marinovich; sons Mitchell Marinovich of Newark and Martin Marinovich of Gilroy; daughter Mabel Linneman of Watsonville; sister Mabel Thorpe of Watsonville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Valley Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Ave. in Watsonville. Burial will follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, on Hecker Pass Road in Watsonville. Friends may call at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave. in Watsonville from 2-7 p.m. Thursday.

Contributions are preferred to the American Lung Association of the Central Coast, 550 Camino El Estero, Monterey, CA 93940; the American Diabetes Association, Region III, 1475 S. Bascom Ave., Campbell, CA 95008; or the American Heart Association, 1514 Moffett St., Salinas, CA 93905.

Arrangements are by Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.

Lloyd G. Blount
Services are Sunday for Lloyd G. "Smokey" Blount, who died Thursday in Watsonville. He was 85.
Mr. Blount was born in Stevenson, and moved to Anaheim, where he was a cold storage businessman. He moved to Watsonville 18 years ago. Mr. Blount was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Watsonville.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Fisher-Blount of Watsonville; a stepdaughter, Melissa Offutt of Aptos; a stepson, L. Dale Fisher of Santa Cruz; a brother, Vernon Blount of Arizona; and a sister, Glena Iverson of Paso Robles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Davis Memorial Chapel. Burial is 1 p.m. Thursday at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton.

Ann F. Stoick
Services are Monday for Ann F. Stoick, who died Thursday in Santa Cruz. She was 91.

Mrs. Stoick was born in Gary, N.D., and came to Santa Cruz in 1923. She graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1928 and was a supervisor at Woolworth’s on Pacific Avenue for more than 17 years. Later, Mrs. Stoick and her husband owned and operated Mac’s Patio restaurant in Capitola.

She is survived by daughters Patricia Ameil of Santa Cruz and Beverly Turner of Sparks, Nev.; a son, James Beard of Santa Cruz; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Frank Stoick, died in 1987.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Memorial Crystal Chapel. Friends may call 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.
