Flo J. Boyd

Graveside services for Flo J. Boyd, 78, of Salem, Ore., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. The Rev. Stan Sanderson will preside.

Born March 7, 1919, in Blackwell, Okla., Mrs. Boyd died June 14, 1997, in Salem, Ore., after a long illness.

Her family had moved to  Texas when she was 12 years old because of the Depression; and after the start of World War II, she and her family moved to California.

On Jan. 12, 1940, she married Thomas, who preceded her in death in 1980. After the war, they moved to Merced, then in 1964, to Fairfield.

In 1990, she moved to Salem, Ore., where she resided until her death.

She was a member of the 700 Club.

She is survived by her sons, James of Salem, Ore., and Thomas of  Washington State; brother, Cecil Marshall of Matthews, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Oregon Affiliate, 1425 N.E. Irving, No. 100, Portland, Ore., 97232-4201.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Sylvia T. McKim

Funeral services for Sylvia T. McKim, 80, of Dixon, will be 10 a.m. Monday in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

The Rev. Robert Ogren of the Methodist Church in Pollock Pines will officiate. There will be a private burial in Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Dec. 12, 1916, in Vallejo, Mrs. McKim died June 10, 1997, in Davis, after a long illness.

She had lived in Dixon for 50 years.

Mrs. McKim was a homemaker and wife for 60 years. She also worked for the Basic Vegetable and Vacaville Poultry companies.

She was a member of the Eagles, and the Pals and Sals Square Dance Club of Vacaville.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Dixon; son, Joseph of Vacaville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 290 Fruitvale Road, Vacaville 95688.

William Frederick-Carl Michels

Graveside services for William Frederick-Carl Michels, 19 days old, of Vacaville, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. Leo Nelson will officiate.

Born May 19, 1997, in Fairfield, the infant died June 8, 1997, in Children's Hospital in Oakland of birth complications.

He is survived by his parents, Frederick Michels and Kim LaPointe, of Vacaville; brother, Brenton of Ukiah; sisters, Sarah of Ukiah, Alicia of Vacaville, and  Taylor and Brandi LaPointe of  Washington; grandparents, Florence Marfil of Vacaville, William and Marjorie Linkem of  Washington, and Carl Davis of Vacaville; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be private.

Memorial contributions can be made to Children's Hospital in Oakland.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville.

Kenneth H. Leslie

Memorial services for Kenneth H. Leslie Sr., 77, of Vacaville will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Pastor Eric Wallbolt will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Leslie died June 11, 1997, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Sept. 8, 1919, in Butte, Mont., Mr. Leslie moved to the area in 1973. He worked in sales and served in the Army during World War II.

He was a 50-year member of the VFW and the Leisure Town Lawn Bowlers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Helen of Vacaville; sons, Ken Jr., Daniel and Lee; daughter, Susan Brashears; brothers, Russell and Clarence; sister, Dorothy Hathaway; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Leslie was preceded in death by his daughter Karen in 1960.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

Arrangements were handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Hazel Marie Martin

Funeral services for Hazel Marie Martin, 66, of Suisun City, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church, 2207 Union Ave., Fairfield.

Pastor Robert Clay will officiate. Burial will be in the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Aug. 16, 1930, in Madera, she died June 15, 1997, in NorthBay Medical Center following a long illness.

A 27-year resident of Suisun City, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Cathy of Vacaville; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Ronald Lampman of Fairfield; granddaughter, Terisha of Vacaville; and stepgrandchildren, Michael Medina and Christina, both of Vacaville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fairfield Funeral Home.

Dorothea E. McConnell

No services are planned for Dorothea E. McConnell, 83, of Vacaville, who died June 14, 1997, after a long illness.

Born Jan. 2, 1914, in Gustavus, Ohio, Mrs. McConnell was secretary to the sales manager at Chevron for 22 years. She enjoyed her grandsons, playing the organ, collecting, ice skating, bowling, horseback riding, and learning and doing new things.

She is survived by her husband, John; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lonnie; and grandsons, Matthew and Micah.

Angela Perrera

A Mass of Christian Burial for Angela Perrera, 86, of Fairfield, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on  Texas Street in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park, 1901 Union Ave., Fairfield.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 tonight at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W.  Texas St., Fairfield. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Born May 11, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Perrara died June 15, 1997, at Fairfield Health Care Center following a short illness.

A 28-year resident of Fairfield, she was a homemaker who loved working with ceramics. She was also a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church's Young Ladies Institute and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Mrs. Perrera is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Frank and Judy of Fairfield, and Thomas of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sister, Connie Pedalino of Van Nuys; brother, Sam LaPorta of New York; five grandchildren, Robert, John and Angela, Theresa Paquette and Claire Accardi; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., Suite 4, Fairfield, 94533.

Phillip Raymond Zizi

Funeral services for Phillip Raymond Zizi, 52, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750  Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield.

Pastor John Lewis of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vacaville will officiate. Burial will be at East Lawn Sierra Hills in Sacramento.

Born Jan. 5, 1945, in Seattle, he died June 14, 1997, at San Juan Mercy Hospital in Carmichael following a short illness.

Mr. Zizi was a longtime resident of Fairfield who moved to Sacramento one month ago.

He was a retired mechanic and driver for Napa Garbage Company. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 490 in Vallejo.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Funeral Home.

Mr. Zizi is survived by his wife, Laura of Sacramento; mother, Helen of Richmond; mother-in-law, Evelyn Laurent of Sacramento; sister, Deborah of Richmond; and brothers, Mike of Rodeo and Merle of Richmond.

Lewis J. Perry

There will be a private inurnment for Lewis J. Perry, 69, of Vacaville.

Mr. Perry died June 15, 1997, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born Jan. 20, 1928, in California, Mr. Perry lived in Vacaville for 30 years. Mr. Perry worked 25 years for American Home Foods in the production department.

He enjoyed golf, and was well known and liked by people throughout the community.

Mr. Perry is survived by his sisters, Adeline Dahlgren of Lodi and Mamie Pape of Sacramento; nephews, Dr. Charles Dahlgren of Burney and William Careira of Hollister, Henry of Fresno, and Ernest of Manteca; and niece Linda of Manteca.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of Tulsa, 2408 E. 81st St., Tulsa, Okla. 74137.

Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Mary Angele Smith

Memorial services for Mary Angele Smith, 84, of Vacaville, will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville.

The Rev. Thomas Smith will officiate.

Born June 21, 1912, in Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Smith died on Monday after a long illness. A private burial will be held in the Vacaville Elmira Cemetery.

A 27-year resident of Vacaville, Mrs. Smith enjoyed playing bridge and talking to people. She was past president of the Saturday club and was a member of the Vacaville Museum Guild, Upper Solano Republican Women and an active church member.

Survivors include her nephew and wife, Michael and Mary Ann Londay of Coronado; and friend, Mary Lou Brown of Sunnyvale.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville.

Eula Cile Blackshear

Funeral services for Eula Cile Blackshear, 65, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hick's Temple Church of God in Christ, at 451 Baker St., San Francisco. The Rev. Alonzo Eison will preside.

Born Feb. 28, 1932, in Dallas, Mrs. Blackshear died June 15, 1997, in Fairfield after a long illness.

She worked as an admitting clerk for the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco for 29 years. She lived in Vacaville for nine years.

She enjoyed reading and antiques.

Mrs. Blackshear is survived by her husband, Joe of Vacaville; daughters, Karen of San Francisco, and Faryl of Vacaville; grandchildren, Tina and Tamara of San Francisco; sisters, Mary Louise  Jackson of  Texas, Helen Cook of Los Angeles, Barbara Beasley of  Louisiana, and Laverne Dixon of Los Angeles; brothers, Luther Dixon Jr., Jerry Leon Dixon, Joe B. Dixon, William Elliott, all of  Texas.
