Donald Dean Danner

Funeral services for Donald Dean Danner, 68, of Vacaville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 311 Alamo Drive, Vacaville.

Bishop Stewart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will preside. Burial will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born July 31, 1928, in Provo, Utah, he died July 12, 1997, in Vacaville after a long illness.

A 30-year resident of the area, Mr. Danner retired from the Air Force after 20 years. His main duty over the years was as a radar operator. He enjoyed leather work, wood work, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Creta of Vacaville; sons, Marvin Wilbur Ruttenbur of Utah and Jeffrey Victor of Vacaville; daughters, Donna Marie Fraga of Milford and April Lee Scarpa of Vacaville; brothers, Richard of Utah and Robert of Arizona; sister, Dorthy Olsen of Nevada; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Jane McConica Burnham

Funeral services for Jane McConica Burnham, 83, of Green Valley will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, 4221 Suisun Valley Road in Suisun.

Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery in Suisun.

Born Aug. 4, 1913, in Saskatchewan, Canada, she died July 13, 1997, in Suisun after a long illness.

A 42-year resident of Green Valley, Mrs. Burnham graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in education. She was also a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She worked as a teacher and social worker. She also served for the Red Cross in California, Alaska and Hawaii.

She was a member of the Green Valley Country Club, Valley Ladies Investment Club and Pan Hellenic.

She also lived in Vallejo in 1948 through 1955. She was a member of the Vallejo General Hospital Guild and a world traveler.

Mrs. Burnham is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Haskell of Reno, Dolly Coleman of Walnut Creek and Anne Millie of Vacaville; stepdaughters, Judith Ivey of Warrenton, Ga., and Tonya Lee of Gig Harbor, Wash.; brothers, John and Charles McConica, both of Ventura, and Howard McConica of Los Angeles; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W.  Texas St. in Fairfield.

Timothy Pflug

A memorial service for Mr. Timothy Pflug will be held at noon Wednesday in Vacaville's Andrews Park. Eddie Reames will officiate.

Mr. Pflug was born Nov. 24, 1961, in Indiana. He was found dead on July 6, 1997, in Vacaville.

He is survived by his parents in Indiana and two sons in Vacaville.

Elizabeth Ethel Halleran

At the family's request, there are no formal services for Elizabeth Ethel Halleran, 74, of Fairfield. Burial will be private.

Born June 2, 1923, in Du Pont, Wash., Mrs. Halleran died July 13, 1997, at her home in Fairfield.

She was a homemaker for 40 years, and was active in the Tops Program. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Bill of Fairfield; daughter, Lynne Almstrom of Vacaville; son, Jerrold Boyd of Fayetteville, N.C.; sister, Barbara McCall of Seattle, Wash.; brother, David Henton of Pasco, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Robert N. Herguth

Funeral services for Robert N. Herguth, 72, of Pinole, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Vaca Hills Chapel. The retired Rev. Leo Nelson will preside. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Dec. 4, 1924, in Clayton, Mo., Mr. Herguth died July 13, 1997, at home.

He was raised in Hillsboro, Ill., and was a resident of Pinole for 40 years. He retired as a director of maintenance for Pacific Intermountain Express. Also, he was the co-founder of Herguth Laboratories Inc., in Vallejo.

Mr. Herguth is survived by his wife, Ethel of Pinole; sons, J. Michael of Suisun City, and William R. of Fairfield; daughter, Renae A. Kelley of Vacaville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy E. Lilly. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

Harold Warren Jones

Memorial services for Harold Warren Jones, 53, will 10 a.m. Saturday at Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, 4221 Suisun Valley Road in Suisun.

Pastor Lawrence C. Vilardo will preside. Born May 22, 1944, in Valljo, he died suddenly at his home in Nampa, Idaho, on June 23, 1997.

Mr.  Jones graduated from Armijo High School in 1962, and served in the Army from 1962 to 1965. He graduated from Solano Community College in 1967.

He worked as a refinery technician for Tosco Oil in Martinez, and most recently for Toothman Engineers in Boise, Idaho.

Mr.  Jones is survived by his wife, Wanda, of Nampa, Idaho; sons, Harold "Bo" II of Benicia and Charlie of Santa Rosa; stepdaughters, Danielle of Santa Rosa and Lynn Scroggins of Nampa, Idaho; parents, Margie of Fairfield and Dr. Ervin  Jones of Vallejo; sister, Jennifer of Fairfield; brothers, Roger of Covelo and Steven of Baltimore; and grandsons, Jimmy and Timmy of Benicia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship building fund. Arrangements are by Persons Funeral Home in Nampa, Idaho.

Christine Marie Willis

Funeral services for Christine Marie Willis, 57, of Dixon, will be 4 p.m. Friday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. The Rev. Maurice O'Brien of St. Peter's Catholic Church will preside. Burial will be private.

Born Dec. 2, 1939, in South Portland, Mrs. Willis died July 15, 1997, in Dixon.

She lived in Dixon for 25 years, and worked as a forklift operator for Dixon Canning Corporation and Campbells for 26 years.

She is survived by her husband, William of Dixon; daughters, Dianna Lynn Bernhardt of Susanville, and Donna Marie Kennedy and Melissa Ann Allen, both Dixon; five grandchildren; mother, Madeline L. Allen of Maine; sisters, Deborah Cormier of Connecticut, Mary T. Allen of Hayward, and Sandra T. Allen of Maine; and brother, William Allen of New Hampshire.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.

Leon Melvin Young

Graveside services for Leon Melvin Young, 90, of Suisun City will be 2 p.m. Friday at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. Burial will follow the service.

Mr. Young died July 14, 1997, in Suisun City after a long illness.

Born April 1, 1907, in Santa Cruz, he lived in Suisun City for seven years. He worked at for Unocal for 37 years and assisted in the building of the refinery, as well as the original Carquinez Bridge.

He was a professional boxer for a number of years, boxing under the name Buddy Ryan. He had 120 undefeated fights.

He had been a member of the Moose Lodge in San Pablo, and was a member of the Oil Workers and Atomic Workers Labor Union.

Mr. Young is survived by his daughter, Shirley Webb of Rodeo; sons, Larry of Pinole and Richard of Fairfield; sister, Dorothy Simoni of Pollock Pines; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 800 San Antonio Road, Suite 2, Palo Alto 94303.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann Evans

A memorial service for Patricia Ann Evans, 35, of Travis Air Force Base will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Travis Chapel Center. Chaplain Al Grandison will preside. Burial will be private.

Born Jan. 31, 1962, in Illinois, Mrs. Evans died July 10, 1997, at her home after a long illness.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Warren Evans of Travis Air Force Base; sons, Cemeren and Kellien, both of Travis Air Force Base; parents, Cesar and Christine Purnell of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, and four brothers.

Susan Maneilles

There will be no formal services for Susan Maneilles, 99, of Fairfield.

Born Dec. 25, 1897, in Glasgow, Scotland, Mrs. Maneilles died July 12, 1997, in Fairfield. She was a homemaker for several years, and lived in Fairfield for 35 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Lou Beck of Fairfield; brother, Joe Kelly of Scotland; grandchildren, Steven and Lisa Beck of Fairfield; great-grandson, Wesley Beck of Antioch; and seven nieces and a nephew in Scotland.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

William 'Father Bill' Travers

A Mass of the Resurrection for the Rev. William L. Travers, 79, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Sacramento Cathedral in Sacramento, at 11th and K streets.

Burial with military honors will be 11 a.m. Monday in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born March 10, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Travers died July 14, 1997, at VacaValley Hospital.

Mr. Travers was in the Air Force for 22 years, and was a chaplain serving in Vietnam, Germany, England and the United States.

He was affectionately known as Father Bill, and he was an assisting pastor with Holy Spirit Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, both in Fairfield, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville.

He lived in Solano County since 1978.

Mr. Travers is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Welt of Mojave Valley, Ariz.; nephew and his wife, Bernard and Emma Welt of Mojave Valley, Ariz.; and friend, Debbie Hawyard-Gault of Vacaville.

Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Fairfield. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Friday.

Contributions may be made to Father Bill Travers Fund for Children, c/o Glenmary sisters, P.O. Box 22264 Owens- boro, Ky., 42304.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel, 448-6546, at 212 Main St., Vacaville, 95688.

John Henry Baumann

A memorial service was held for John Henry Baumann, 78, of Rio Vista.

Born June 8, 1919, in Portland, Ore., Mr. Baumann died July 7, 1997, after a bout with cancer.

He was an active Rio Vista businessman and civic leader, and was a resident of the area for more than 40 years.

He moved to Rio Vista in 1952 where he started Baumann Motors, now known as Rio Vista Ford. In 1959, he opened the Delta Marina; and in 1964, he started The Point Restaurant. In the late 1960s, he opened Henry's Coffee Shop.

Mr. Baumann was active in the Rio Vista Lions Club and volunteered his time as a member of the Solano County Sheriff's Air Squadron in the 1970s.

He attended  Washington State University, and was an avid alumni member his entire life.

He was in the Army Air Corps and was stationed at Mather Air Force Base as a pilot trainer. He was on his way overseas as a bomber pilot when peace was established. He was a pilot since 1943 and owned five different aircraft in his lifetime. In 1995, the city of Rio Vista named its new airport Jack Baumann Field in his honor.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lola; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bob Tillisch; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Vickie; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Doreen; and grandchildren, Danny, Stephen, Trevor, Ted and Mary Alice.
