Robert Franklin Brown
Funeral services for Robert Franklin Brown, 75, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Monday at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Boulevard, in Portland, Ore.
Burial with military honors will follow.
Born March 21, 1922, in Portland, Ore., Mr. Brown died July 13, 1997, in Fairfield after a short illness.
He served in the Air Force for 26 years, retiring in 1966. He was an aircraft maintenance inspector, and retired as a technical sergeant serving in the 60th Military Airlift Wing at Travis Air Force Base. He served at several overseas stations during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of the AF&AM Masonic Lodge of Oregon, and the NARFF. He lived in Fairfield for five years.
He is survived by his wife, Margrethe of Fairfield; daughter, Vicki of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Rhodie of Folsom, William and Janis of Woodland, and Thomas and Lori of Ceres; and several grandchildren.

Nick L. Kirk
Funeral services for Nick L. Kirk, 78, of Davis will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Davis Community Church, 412 C St. in Davis.
Burial will be in Davis Cemetery.
Born June 27, 1919, in Watsonville, he died July 17, 1997, at his family's home in Davis after a lengthy illness.
A 49-year resident of Davis, Mr. Kirk attended the University of California, Davis. He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II and retired from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Cello of Davis and Debbie Clark of Chicago; sister, Mary of Davis; grandchildren, Scott and Brian Clark of Chicago, Ryan and Michael Cello of Davis, Christine Ragasa Zito of Yuba City and Angelique Carter of Ahamonte, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Justice Zito of Yuba City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret, in 1975; and a daughter, Ann Ragasa, in 1984.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. in Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Yolo Hospice.
Harold Chester Taylor
Funeral services for Harold Chester Taylor, 81, of Davis will be 11 a.m. Monday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. Richard Wylie of Dixon Community Church will preside. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery.
Born April 27, 1916, in Sheridan, Wyo., Mr. Taylor died July 16, 1997, in Davis after a long illness.
He worked for the Solano Mosquito Abatement District as an assistant manager for 16 years. He enjoyed fly fishing, spending time outdoors, and working in his woodshop. He lived in Davis for one year.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Dixon; brother, William of Dixon; sister, Alice Pearse of Alameda; nephew, Gregory of Dixon; and nieces, Mary Alice Dierking and Linda Morrison, both of Alameda.
Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.
Paulette Raye Williams
A memorial service for Paulette Raye Williams, 50, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. today at the Harvest Church in Vacaville. A reception will follow.
The Revs. Bill Hausler and Scott Brooks will preside. Burial will be private at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Plainview, Texas, Mrs. Williams died July 17, 1997, in Fairfield after a short illness.
She owned a medical business that served cancer survivors. She was a member of the American Cancer Society, and was an alumni of the University of California, San Francisco. She lived in Vacaville for 10 years.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Mark of Vacaville; sons, Christopher of Seattle, and Gary, David and Michael, all of Vacaville; and mother and father, Winnie and Orvil McCartie of Escondido.

Cruz R. Mayoral
A Mass of the Resurrection for Cruz R. Mayoral, 55, of Sacramento will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Dixon.
The Rev. Maurice O'Brien with St. Peter's Catholic Church will preside. Burial will follow in Silveyville Cemetery.
Born May 3, 1942, in Sonora, Mrs. Mayoral died July 16, 1997, in Sacramento after a short illness.
She lived in West Sacramento for the 22 years, and before that lived in Dixon for 20 years. She worked for Dixon Canning Corp. for 14 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Mayoral is survived by her daughters, Estela Mayoral-Gutierrez of Dixon, Irma Mayoral-Hernandez, Irene Mayoral-Beckham, Diana Mayoral-Valencia, and Rosalba Maricruz Alvarez, all of West Sacramento; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Francisco Rivera, Enrique Rivera, Natividad Rivera, and Jose Rivera, all of Mexico; sister, Dolores of Mexico; and companion of 17 years, Oscar Alvarez of West Sacramento.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1321 Anna St. in Bryte, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Willis F. 'Brownie' Brown
Funeral services for Willis F. "Brownie" Brown, 75, of Fairfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Martin Bergstrom of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.
Born Dec. 16, 1921, in Maple Lake, Minn., Mr. Brown died July 20, 1997, after a long illness.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1963. He was as an aerial gunner during World War II and later a flight engineer. He also was a prisoner of war. He was a member of the 100th Bomber Group. He later worked as an aircraft mechanic for the Air Force and retired with the rank of master sergeant. He later retired from the civil service in 1984.
He was an avid fisherman and wood maker. He shared his wood making talents and profits he made from them with the young.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene "Gene" of Fairfield; daughters, Sandra Block of Dixon, Carol Morrissey and Mary Harding of Vacaville; sons, William of Vacaville, Ed of Denver, James of Los Angeles; son-in-law, James Prather of Fairfield; and 11 grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Barbara Christine Cobern
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in Vaca Hills Chapel for Barbara Christine Cobern, 50, of Vallejo. Inurnment will be private.
Born Dec. 29, 1946, in Lake County, Mrs. Cobern died on July 18, 1997, at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo after a long illness.
She moved to Vallejo 17 years ago and was a homemaker for 30 years.
She is survived by her son, Adam Newcomer of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Gayle Newcomer of Vacaville; brothers, James Gordon Clark of Georgetown, Jerry Clark of San Rafael and Billy Zupo of Antioch; sisters, Jewel Shepard of Lancaster, Joan Amundson of Paradise and Jean Langly of Walnut Creek; and grandchildren, Joshua and Hannah Newcomer of Bryan.
Mary Margaret Cunningham
Funeral services will be tonight from 7 to 9 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Mary Margaret Cunningham, 81, of Suisun City.
Mrs. Cunningham will be buried at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rockville Cemetery
in Suisun City.
Born June 26, 1916, she died on July 19, 1997, in Fairfield after a long illness.
She was a homemaker her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin of Suisun City; daughters, Mary Thompson, Phyllis Cleaver and Patricia Caughman of Suisun City and Victoria Nunes of Winters; sons, Alvin and Joe of Cottonwood, Virgil and Gary of Richmond, Charles of Vallejo, Don of Hercules, William Choates of Seattle; 31 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Josephine Knight
Funeral services for Josephine Knight, 68, of Vacaville will be private.
Interment will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Born Jan. 5, 1929, in San Francisco, Mrs. Knight died July 20, 1997, in Vacaville, after a long illness.
She lived in Vacaville for 68 years and worked as a candy packer for the Nut Tree for 35 years.
Mrs. Knight enjoyed playing bingo and going to Reno.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence of Vacaville; stepdaughter, Mary Jane Summit of Vacaville; brothers, Tony Jr. and Henry Pulido, both of Vacaville, and Jerry Pulido of Rohnert Park; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in McCune Garden Chapel.
Alfred O. Ackermann
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel for Alfred O. Ackermann, 59, of Fairfield. The Rev. Janet Corpus of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate.
Born June 12, 1938, in Hamburg, Germany, Mr. Ackermann died July 20, 1997, in Fairfield after a long illness.
He moved to Vallejo from Germany in 1962. He left Vallejo for Fairfield in 1977. Since 1973, he was the owner and operator of the German Car Service in Fairfield.
He was a member of a German club -- Hermann's Sons, Petaluma Lodge #26 -- and The Germany Club in Concord.
He enjoyed socializing, attending clubs and running in Vacaville and Fairfield.
Survivors include his mother, Anna of Germany; his wife, Yvonne of Fairfield; sons, Eric and daughter-in-law Carla of Fresno, Michael of Florida and Christopher of Fairfield; step-sons, Joseph and Darren Gonzales of Vacaville; sisters, Roslinde Schunemann and Brigette Matzdorff of Germany.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.
Eva Baciarini
A Catholic Prayer Service for Eva Baciarini, 85, a longtime Nut Tree employee, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.
The former Vacaville resident died July 20, 1997. She had been living at Sierra Health Care in Davis.
Mrs. Baciarini came to Vacaville from Utah in 1924. In 1928, at the age of 16, she began working summers as a waitress for the Nut Tree restaurant.
In addition to waitressing, she also shelled nuts, washed windows, wrapped gifts and filled in as a hostess or cashier when needed.
In 1930, she graduated from Vacaville High School and kept working for the Nut Tree. She later married Romeo Baciarini. They lived in a ranch home on Meridian Road.
During her career, she served many famous people, including Presidents Herbert Hoover, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan. Of all her celebrity customers, Mrs. Baciarini had been most excited when Will Rogers stopped in for lunch -- although she didn't wait on him.
In 1979, Nut Tree partner Robert Power honored Mrs. Baciarini by asking her to be the restaurant's ambassador at the annual meeting of the National Restaurant Association in Chicago.
She was also honored by Rep. Vic Fazio, D-Solano, when he gave her a tribute on the House Floor in 1991.
Mrs. Baciarini served the Vacaville Rotary Club at its first meeting, and later in her career worked only on Thursdays to serve members of the Rotary Club and the Vacaville Lions Club.
She is survived by her husband, Romeo of Dixon; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Patricia Cances of Vacaville; Rene and Torie Cances of Sacramento; sister, Augusta Piquer of France; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Baciarini will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St. in Dixon.
