Judith A. Trevino

Memorial services for Judith A. Trevino, 50, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave. in Vacaville.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Nov. 20, 1946, in San Jose, Mrs. Trevino died Sept. 26, 1997, in VacaValley Hospital after a short illness.

She was a resident of Vacaville the past 24 years, and had been a secretary with North American Mortgage Company in Vacaville for more than 10 years.

In 1984, she had opened the Telefax store, which her husband, Carlos, still operates. She was a member of Soroptimist International between 1984 to 1986.

Mrs. Trevino is survived by her husband, Carlos of Vacaville; son, Christopher Marc of Vacaville; daughter, Lisa Michelle of Pittsburg; and brothers, Ken Carlton of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Larry Carlton of Tacoma, Wash., Vernon Carlton of San Jose, and Stephen Carlton of Missoula, Mont.

Steven E. Reynolds

A ceremony and memorial service for Chief Master Sgt. Steven E. Reynolds, 58, of Vacaville will be held by the 349th Air Mobility Wing at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beam Hall, Building 163, at Travis Air Force Base.

Reynolds was killed Sept. 12, 1997, in a boating accident on the Sacramento River near Knights Landing.

Born July 18, 1939, in Coffeeville, Kan., Mr. Reynolds moved to the area 23 years ago.

He served for 23 years as a full-time air reserve technician with the 710th Airlift Squadron, working as a flight engineer on Travis Air Force Base's C-141 Starlifters.

His career had taken him to every continent in the world, and he achieved the highest enlisted rank possible in the Air Force.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Julie of Vacaville; daughter Camryn Phillips of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Connie Fox and Sandy, both of Colorado, and Bobbie Mendenhall of Kansas; and grandchildren, Madelyn and Arthur Phillips, both of Charleston, S.C.

The ceremony is open to civilian and military members of the community who knew Mr. Reynolds. Guests attending the ceremony must enter the base at the main gate on Air Base Parkway.

Those who do not have access to Travis Air Force Base should call the 710th Airlift Squadron at 424-3334 before 3 p.m. Friday for entry approval.

Joseph Edward Carroll Sr.

There will be a private service and inurnment for Joseph Edward Carroll Sr., 49, of Suisun City.

Born Dec. 30, 1947, in Baton Rouge, La., Mr. Carroll died Sept. 25, 1997, at his home.

He was in the Air Force from 1972 to 1982, and was in the reserves from 1982 to 1997. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1997.

Mr. Carroll received his undergraduate degree in economics from Davis-Elkin University in  West Virginia, and his juris doctor's degree from  Washington and Lee Law School in Virginia.

He worked as an attorney for the Air Force at Travis Air Force Base and David Grant Medical Center. He retired in 1997.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Maria of Suisun City; son, Joseph E. Jr. of Suisun City; mother-in-law, Marga Mandrell of Suisun City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Chris Mandrell of Fairfield; and niece, Taryn Mandrell, and nephew, Jeremy Mandrell, both of Fairfield.

Contributions may be made to the NorthBay Hospice, 1200 B. Gale Wilson Blvd., Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Barbara 'Bobbie' Marcks

Funeral services for Barbara "Bobbie" Marcks, who died Sept. 26, 1997, at the age of 68, will be held Wednesday.

Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m. in the McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. A Mass in her memory will be at St. Mary's Church, 350 Stinson Ave., afterward. She will be buried in a private service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.

Mrs. Marcks was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Oakland. She had lived in Vacaville since 1974, after retiring from Pacific Bell as a telephone operator in 1972. She was a homemaker the rest of her life. She was also a member of Moose Lodge No. 1967.

She died in Vacaville Rehabilitation and Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Marcks is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Daniel Hardesty of Arroyo Grande; granddaughter, Barbara Felsch of Napa; brother, Norman Miller of San Leandro; sisters, Genevieve Seefloth of Vacaville, Irene Vidal of San Diego, Mary Margardo of Oakland, Alice Dobyns of Kensington and Rose Castanada of Castro Valley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lowell Olen Bell

Funeral services for Lowell Olen Bell, 77, of Vacaville will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Orchard Avenue Baptist Church, Vacaville.

The Rev. Stan Smith will officiate.

Burial will be in Vacaville Elmira Cemetery.

Born Jan. 14, 1920, in  Oklahoma, Mr. Bell died Sept. 28, 1997, in his Vacaville home after a long illness.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and had been a mechanic with Texaco, Inc., for 40 years.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Jaunette; sons, Ronald of Montclair and John of Vacaville; sisters, Joy Bell Critz of  Washington state and Paula Bell Sawin of Florida; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Alicia.

Hazel P. Miller

Funeral services for Hazel P. Miller, 100, of Winters will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

The Rev. Leo Nelson, retired, will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemtery.

Born Oct. 24, 1896, in Nebraska, Mrs. Miller died Sept. 29, 1997, in her daughter's residence of a brief illness.

Ahe moved to the area in 1911, worked as a clerk for a local grocery store, and married in 1914. She was a farmer for more than 40 years until her husband died in 1962.

She was a member of Past Grand Noble of Rebekah Lodge No. 80 of Vacaville, and was also district department president for two terms (1923 and the 1960's), past president and honorary member of the Vacaville Garden Club, and a Grey Lady at the Travis Air Force Base Hospital during World War II.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed dancing when she was younger and she loved to be with family.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Miles Nicholson of Winters; grandchildren, Kay Montgomery, Tom and Jon Nicholson, all of Winters, Susie  Jones of Oakhurst, Bill Miller of Stockton and Kristy Mooref Grizzly Flats; 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Robert Logan Anderson

Inurnment will be private for Robert Logan Anderson, 41, of Vacaville. No formal funeral services will be held.

Born Feb. 14, 1956, in Fairfield, Mr. Anderson died Sept. 25, 1997, at home after a long illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Solano County and worked for 25 years as a carpenter for Hershall Stanfield in Vacaville.

He enjoyed flexiglass etching and clay modeling. He was also a mechanic.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Theresa of Vacaville; daughters, Suzanna and Shawn of Vacaville, Ronna of Vallejo, and Shanna of Idaho; sons, Robert Jr., Thomas and Daniel, all of Vacaville; mother, Mildred Connelly of Vacaville; father, Robert of Vacaville; grandmother, Ruby of Clearlake; sisters, Ronna of Vacaville and Mary of  Pennsylvania; brothers, Steve, Rob and Joseph, all of Fairfield, Richard Connelly of Houston and Gary of Clearlake; half-brothers, Richard and Bill Romiski, both of Vacaville; half-sisters, Lori Nash of Fresno and Sheri Golder of Fairfield; grandchildren, Tiana, Angelina and Ashly of Vacaville, and Cathy of Vallejo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are handled by Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo.

Lawrence Henry Beechtree

Funeral services with full military honors for Lawrence Henry Beechtree, 74, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Chaplain Michael Doan of Travis Air Force Base will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockville Cemetery in Suisun.

Born March 29, 1923, in Detroit, Mr. Beechtree died Sept. 29, 1997, at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base after a long illness.

A 37-year resident of Fairfield, he served in the Army and Air Force as a technical sergeant for 20 years, and was a veteran of World War II and Korea, retiring in 1965.

Mr. Beechtree worked in Civil Service at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Shop 02, for 15 years before retiring in 1980. He was also a guest lecturer of Native American History. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vacaville Post; American Legion, Rago-Christopher Post 165 in Vacaville; Life member of Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) Suisun-Fairfield Chapter No. 81. He volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America, the American Association of Retired Persons, and 55Alive, and was a member of the Onieda Indian Tribe of Wisconsin.

He was an avid bowler, active in Fairfield leagues.

He is survived by his wife, Edna of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue of Fairfield, Alice and Joseph Umfress of Fairfield, and Debra and James Davis of Fairfield; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dolores of Wisconsin; and granddaughter, Lana Maria Vargas of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Maria M. Donato

Funeral services for Maria M. Donato, 89, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Neal McNanna will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Donato died Sept. 29, 1997, in Vacaville after a short illness.

Born Feb. 16, 1908, in Aguas Calientes, Mexico, she moved to Fairfield 10 years ago. She worked as a housekeeper for 25 years in the Oakland area until 1979. During World War II she worked at the Alameda Naval Shipyard.

Mrs. Donato is survived by her son, Ruben of Fairfield; daughters, Vera of Fairfield, Olga Garcia of Oakland, Hilda Ostrom of Erhard, Minn., and Susan Borghorst of Coupeville, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. and rosary recital at 7 tonight at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady Mount Carmel Building Fund, 2700 Dover Ave., Fairfield 94533.

Richard Raines Griffin

Funeral services for Richard Raines Griffin, 65, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave.

The Rev. Vic Matson of Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Winters Cemetery.

Born May 24, 1932, in Red Bluff, Mr. Griffin died Sept. 29, 1997, at Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Mr. Griffin had been a mortician's assistant for 40 years, employed by McCune Garden Chapel. He also had been employed by Osborne's Funeral Home in San Francisco early in his career.

Prior to his mortuary involvement, he was employed with the federal government where he was a manager of the Travis Air Force Base exchange and also at Stead Air Force Base in Reno.

One of his most enjoyable accomplishments was his involvement with the late Ty Cobb, whom he oversaw all correspondence as well writings. He had also done correspondence work for the late Bette Davis and Heddy Lamar.

He graduated from Winters High School in 1950.

He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Quintero of Vacaville; sons, Robert of Murray, Utah, and Richard of  Washington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Al Huddleston of Farmington, N.M., and Nancy Griffin Stinnett and Richard Stinnett of Winters; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made to the Living Memorial Tree Planting Fund, c/o Winters Cemetery, Cemetery Drive, Winters 95694.

Larry J. Hearn

Graveside services for Larry J. Hearn, 31, of Rio Vista will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.

Pastor Richard Wylie of Dixon Community Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Nov. 19, 1965, in Woodland, Mr. Hearn died Sept. 28, 1997, in Rio Vista at the family ranch after a sudden illness.

He was a resident of Rio Vista for 31 years. He worked on the Hearn Family Ranch in Rio Vista. A 1983 graduate of Rio Vista High School, he was also a member of the Dixon Gun Club and Ducks Unlimited.

Mr. Hearn was an avid sportsman and he enjoyed the outdoors.

Mr. Hearn is survived by his parents, Mary and Dan of Rio Vista; brothers, David and Gerald, both of Rio Vista; grandmother, Evelyn Mace of Dixon; and grandparents, Jay and Molene of  Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by Daniel Mace Hearn.

Visitation will be private.
