Kenneth Paul Brown Jr.

Burial will full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery is planned for Kenneth Paul Brown Jr., 63.

A private family visitation will be held in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Born Dec. 12, 1934, in Mexico, Maine, Mr. Brown died Feb. 22, 1998, in David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base after a brief illness.

He had lived in Dixfield, Maine, for five years but spent the last 3 1/2 months of his life in Vacaville with his son.

Mr. Brown retired from the Air Force in 1973 after 20 years of service, attaining the rank of technical sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 in Rumford, Maine; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1641 in Rumford; Order of Eagles, BPOE No. 862 of Rumford; and Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by his sons, Steven Brown of Spencer, Mass., and Jason Brown of Vacaville; daughter, Janet Brown of Toledo, Ohio; mother, Angie Brown of Dixfield, Maine; brothers, Dale Brown of Augusta, Maine, and Warren Brown of Bangor, Maine; sister, Janet Conway of Tombstone, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Edward W. Burke, 90

A private family service for Edward W. Burke, 90, of Vacaville will be held in Vacaville. Burial will be private in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born June 8, 1907, in New Bedford, Mass., Mr. Burke died Feb. 19, 1998, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.

He had served in the Army in France and resided in Leisure Town for 30 years. He worked in the restaurant field and maintenance for Richmond School District.

He was a charter member of the Leisure Town Men's Golf Club and Dance Club, the Vacaville Moose Lodge and the SIRS Club of Fairfield.

Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Yolanda of Vacaville; daughter, Dorothy Rozak of  South Carolina; sister, Doris Poirier of Massachusetts; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four nieces.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa 95402, or the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Irving Milton Cross Sr.

Funeral services for Irving Milton Cross Sr. will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Retired pastor Leo Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 26, 1918, in Suisun City, Mr. Cross died Feb. 22, 1998, at his Vacaville home after a brief illness. He was a lifelong Vacaville resident.

He had been employed for 35 1/2 years by the Vacaville Unified School District, where he was director of grounds, building and transportation.

He was a member of the American Legion and was proud to have served in the Army's 1112th Transportation Corp. in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Cross is survived by his wife, Luella A. of Vacaville; daughter, Gloria Madore of Vacaville; son, Irving Jr. of Vacaville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia Lois Mead

At her request, there will be no formal services for Virginia Lois Mead, 75, of Vacaville.

Burial will be in Green Leaf Memorial Park in New Bern, N.C.

Born July 2, 1922, in Ishpeming, Mich., Mrs. Mead died Feb. 21, 1998, in Winsor House Convalescent Hospital in Vacaville after a long illness.

She had resided in the area since 1958 and was a homemaker all of her adult life.

Mrs. Mead is survived by her brother, Irving E. Isaacson of Vacaville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Dante Tandico Pasion

Memorial services for Dante Tandico Pasion, 51, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in Manila, the Philippine Islands.

Mr. Pasion was born Oct. 12, 1946, in Manila. He died Feb. 20, 1998, in Hayward after a brief illness. He had lived in Fairfield for three years.

He was self-employed at Freedom Tires in Los Angeles for six years.

Mr. Pasion is survived by his mother, Adorada Pasion of the Philippines; sons, Romuel and Ronald Pasion of the Philippines; sisters, Ester David of Fremont, Nancy Pasion of the Philippines and Yolanda Pasion of Suisun City; and brothers, Waldo and Ted Pasion of Fairfield and Dorado Pasion of Seattle.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Lillian M. LaBuda

A rosary for Lillian M. LaBuda, 87, will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit.

The Rev. David LaBuda will officiate.

Mrs. LaBuda will be entombed on Saturday at the new St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr, N.J.

Born on Oct. 7, 1910, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she died Feb. 22, 1998, at her Fairfield home after a sudden illness.

She lived in Fairfield for 40 years.

She worked as a registered nurse at the Intercommunity Hospital in Fairfield for 15 years.

She was very active in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and in many parish organizations.

Survivors include daughters, Barbara Kilkenny of Tyler,  Texas, and Mary Grace  White of Wilmington, N.C.; sons, the Rev. David LaBuda of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Timothy LaBuda of San Francisco and Thomas LaBuda of Nassau, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the Maryknoll Fathers, Maryknoll, N.Y.

Albert Cain

Visitation for Albert Cain, 83, of Fairfield will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Larry West of the Church of Christ will officiate.

Mr. Cain will be entombed at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Born April 26, 1914, in Savoy,  Texas, Mr. Cain died at his Fairfield home after a long illness.

He lived in Fairfield for 60 years.

He worked for the Solano County Road Department as a painter for 20 years. He also worked as a maintenance man for the Fairfield Church of Christ and the Solano Christian Academy.

He was an accomplished carpenter, electrician, plumber and mechanic. He was an active member and deacon with the Fairfield Church of Christ. He was instrumental in helping build the current Church of Christ building on Fairfield Avenue in Fairfield.

Survivors include wife, Jean Cain of Fairfield; daughters, Susie Faye Shaner and Ruby Jean Cain of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles David and Irene Shepard, James Henry and Mary Shepard, Floyd Monroe and Connie Cain and Frank William and Lucy Cain, all of Fairfield; sisters, Daisy Dawson of Fairfield, Pearl Cashen of Oakdale, Ruby Brooks of Redding and May Thompson of Moriaty, N.M.; brothers, Walter Cain of Daggett, Bill Cain of Roswell, N.M., and Robert Cain of Georgetown,  Texas; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Muriel M. Cardinal

Memorial services for Mrs. Muriel M. Cardinal, 79, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel by the Sea Mortuary in Pacifica.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 24, 1918, in Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Cardinal died Feb. 21, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness.

She lived in Vacaville the past nine years and worked as an executive secretary for the San Francisco Housing Authority for more than 40 years.

She was a member of the Del Mar Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed spending time with her dog, Heidi.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Arlene Cardinal of Roseville and Peter and Kathie Cardinal of Pacifica; daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice and David Anderson of Vacaville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Emma Mae Hayworth

Visitation for Emma Mae Hayworth, 82, of Davis will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

The Rev. Don Crandall of the Pentecostal Church of God will officiate.

There will be a private interment in the Rockville Cemetery in Suisun Valley.

Born May 8, 1915, in Iowa, Mrs. Hayworth died Feb. 22, 1998, in Davis after a long illness. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Darrell Hayworth of Davis and Donald M. Hayworth of Fresno; daughters, Darlene Casteel of Vacaville and Lillie Mae Peters of Spring Valley; sisters, Maudie Clayton of Vacaville, Wanda Knox of Stillwater, Okla., Bertha Arnold of Broken Arrow, Okla., Betty Hardesty of Sand Springs, Okla., and Irene Hamilton of Colorado; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Eva G. Pena

Visitation for Eva G. Pena, 84, of Vacaville will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCune. Interment will be at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. Maurice O'Brien of St. Peter's Catholic Church will officiate.

Born Feb. 26, 1913, in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Pena died Feb. 19, 1998, in Sacramento after a short illness.

She lived in Vacaville for 50 years, where she owned and operated her own beauty shop.

She was a member of the Rebeccas Vacaville Chapter for many years and belonged to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Choir.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Linda Ortiz of Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law, Jose and Dolores Garcia of Morgan Hill; sisters, Carmen Rodriguez and Anna Pietri, both of Puerto Rico; grandsons, Albert Jr. and John and wife Cynthia Ortiz, all of Sacramento; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Johnathon and Alyssa, all of Sacramento.
