Byron Rodger Lynn

Memorial services for Byron Rodger Lynn, 37, of Vacaville will be March 22 in the Salvation Army Community Services and Worship Center, 635 Williams St., Vacaville.

Chaplain Durell of the Salvation Army will officiate. Inurnment was private.

Born Sept. 10, 1960, in California, he died Feb. 22, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital after a sudden illness.

A resident of Vacaville for 12 years, he was a receiving clerk for North Bay Distributors Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Vacaville; stepson, Ben Barnes of Vacaville; parents, Byron and Lynn A. of Vacaville; grandmother, Mabel M. Koippe of Carmichael; brother, Robert of Vacaville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Christine of Hayward; sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Forrest York of  Texas; in-laws, Charlotte and Bill Smith of Chula Vista; four nephews; one niece; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

John Canepari

Private services will be held for John Canepari, 95, of Fremont.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Born Feb. 26, 1903, in Bassignana, Italy, he died Feb. 27, 1998, in Los Altos after a short illness.

He lived in Fairfield from 1978 to 1996 and lived in San Mateo from 1939 to 1978.

He graduated as a lieutenant from the Italian Navy and immigrated to the United States in 1929.

Mr. Canepari owned and operated the Swiss Chalet in Colorado Springs,  Colo., and during World War II he worked in civil service at Hunters Point and Mare Island Naval shipyards until 1945 as an engineer.

After the war, he returned to food service and worked as food director at the College of San Mateo and the University of San Francisco.

He retired in 1966.

Also, he was a member and vice president of the Food Service Executives Assoc.

Mr. Canepari is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Mary Jeanne Tassan of Santa Clara; son-in-law, John D. Tassan of Concord; granddaughter, Carolyn Tassan Koenig of Sunnyvale, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by grandson, John August Tassan in 1995.

A memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Bay Area Chapter, 330 Distel Circle, Suite A, Los Altos 94022.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

William H. Inabnett

A memorial service for William Harrison Inabnett, 63, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Travis Air Force Base Chapel Center.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Bienville, La., he died March 1, 1998, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Inabnett retired as an Air Force technical sergeant after 20 years in July 1974. He had been an aircraft mechnanic and was a veteran of the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.

A former member of Vallejo Moose Lodge 468, he had lived in Vallejo more than 25 years before moving to Fairfield in 1976. He attended Vallejo schools and graduated from Vallejo High School in 1952.

Mr. Inabnett is survived by his wife, Jennifer; sons, Chad and Shane of Fairfield and Dion of  Oklahoma; brother, Lawrence of Fairfield; sister-in-law, Delores of Fairfield; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Sheila Beth Ferro

At her request, no services are planned for Sheila Beth Ferro, 61, of Fairfield.

Born Feb. 6, 1937, in New Jersey, Mrs. Ferro died Feb. 28, 1998, in Fairfield after a short illness.

She worked in supply at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring in 1995. She lived in Fairfield for 14 years.

Mrs. Ferro is survived by her husband, Philip of Fairfield; sons, Jack Ward of Santa Maria, and Gene Ward and David Ward, both of Vancouver, Wash.; stepdaughter, Brenda Light of Nevada; stepsons, Philip Jr. of Snohomish, Wash., Robert of Tampa Bay, Fla., Thomas of Napa, Richard of Winnemucca, Nev., and Anthony of Mesa, Ariz.; and sister, Nancy Keller of Mesa.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Brenton 'Brent' W. Logan

Memorial services for Brenton "Brent" W. Logan, 79, of Fairfield will be at a later date in Bowling Green, Ky,. and in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Born Sept. 7, 1918, in  Oklahoma, he died Feb. 28, 1998, in Fairfield after a short illness.

He lived in Fairfield 10 years and was an Air Force veteran, retiring in 1978 as a lieutenant colonel.

Mr. Logan graduated from the University of Louisville, Ky., and worked as a real estate broker in Hawaii.

And he served as an instructor of wine studies, University of Hawaii, and at Solano Community College.

Mr. Logan also wrote wine articles for the Fairfield Daily Republic.

He was a member of the Society of Wine Educators, California Prestige Wine Society, the Fairfield Tennis Club and the Retired Officers Association, Travis Air Force Base chapter.

Mr. Logan is survived by his wife, Patti; brother, John of Bowling Green; sisters, Martha Jolly of Bowling Green and Mary Peak of Cleveland, Tenn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Hospice Home Care Department, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo 94589-2485.

Lorraine H.R. Lorange

Services for Lorraine Henderson Ricau Lorange, 49, of Lacombe, La., were held in New Orleans.

Born Jan. 30, 1949, in New Orleans, Mrs. Lorange died Feb. 4, 1998, at her home.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Spirit of '76 Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; Bayou Liberty Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists; and the Slidell Home Education Fellowship.

Mrs. Lorange is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Matthew, Samuel, Sarah and Jacob; sisters, Barbara R. MacArthur of Vacaville and Eugenie R. Rocherolle of Wilton, Conn.; and mother, Katherine Schlegel Ricau.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gustave J. Ricau Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 710 S. Military Road, Slidell, La., 70461.

Andrea 'Annie' Schiel

Funeral services for Andrea "Annie" Schiel, 26, of Cordelia Village will be 2 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 101 Oakwood Drive, Suisun.

Dr. Craig Gillespie will officiate.

Born Nov. 19, 1971, in Park Rapids, Minn., she died in NorthBay Medical Center on Feb. 28, 1998, after a brief illness.

She lived in Cordelia Village for 15 years. She spent most of her childhood in Minnesota with adopted parents Richard and Juanita Schiel. She was enrolled in the Chippewa tribe.

Ms. Schiel moved to the Fairfield area in 1980, where she attended Falls Elementary School, Green Valley Middle School, Justin Sienna High School in Napa and Marty Indian School in Wagner, S.D.

She also attended Solano Community College.

Ms. Schiel enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, nature and music and was a member of the Solano Aquatic Swimming Team.

She enjoyed bead working and was an avid reader.

Ms. Schiel is survived by her husband, Jorge Vazquez; and parents, Richard and Juanita of Cordelia Village.

Visitation was Tuesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Steven N. Beecher

A memorial service for Steven N. Beecher, 46, of Vacaville will be noon Saturday in McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St.

Following the service, friends are invited to join the family at the Beecher home for a celebration of his life.

Born May 7, 1951, in San Francisco, Mr. Beecher died March 3, 1998, at home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Mr. Beecher was raised in Orinda, and his family later moved to South Lake Tahoe where Mr. Beecher finished his schooling. Mr. Beecher moved to Reno where he met his beloved wife, Catherine. They lived in Reno until moving to the East Bay in 1974, where Mr. Beecher worked as a paralegal.

In 1982, Mr. Beecher was able to share his passion for food when he opened the Danville Bistro. Having been successful in the restaurant and catering business, Mr. Beecher and his wife moved to Vacaville where he used his creativity in gardening and product design to open Cathy B's Specialties. At the onset of his illness, Mr. Beecher's passions turned to movies, family and his pets.

Mr. Beecher is survived by his wife, Catherine; mother and stepfather, Lilliana Ravetti and Glen Rockeman of Sonoma, twin sister, Sandy of Napa; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Val of Vacaville; nieces, Ashley and Lyndsey of Olympia, Wash.; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Robert in 1977.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mr. Beecher's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tenn., 38101.

Louis V. Briggs

A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis V. Briggs, 80, of Chico will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Chico.

Born Oct. 5, 1917, in Mahanoy City, Pa., he died March 3, 1998, in a Chico convalescent hospital.

He was raised in Shenandoah, Pa., and joined the Army Air Corps in 1941. Discharged on Dec. 3, 1945, he re-enlisted the next day. He was honorably discharged in May 1962.

Mr. Briggs worked for Lockheed until 1964, then settled in Vacaville, when he was a civil service worker at Travis Air Force Base. He retired in 1972 and moved to Chico in 1995.

He enjoyed travel, camping, fishing, snow- and waterskiing, woodworking, golf and mechanical work on cars.

He was a past member of the Elks Club and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville.

Mr. Briggs is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Beyers of Chico and Susan Struble of Quito, Ecuador; sister, Marie Purcell of Bristol, Conn., and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

A memorial contribution may be made to the American Parkinson's Association in care of the funeral home, 680 Camelia Way, Chico 95926.
