Nellie Mae Silva

There will be no formal services for Nellie Mae Silva, 88.

Burial will be private in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born April 19, 1910, in Sebastapol, Mrs. Silva died June 13, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness. She lived in Suisun City for 76 years.

Mrs. Silva worked for Suisun Laundry as a presser for many years. She was a founding member of the Fairfield-Suisun Senior Citizens Club, where she loved to play bingo. She is survived by her brother, William Fortier of Burbank; nephews, Lawrence E. Salsman of Gustine, and Richard F. Salsman of Suisun Valley; and three nieces.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Carlotta G. Garcia

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carlotta G. Garcia, 87, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of the church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo.

Born March 16, 1911, in Lincoln, New Mexico territory, Mrs. Garcia died June 12, 1998, in her home after a sudden illness.

She was a homemaker for 63 years and had been employed as a housekeeper at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley for 10 years.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by daughters, Gloria Martinez of Richmond, Glenda Marshall of Seattle, Gwyn of Fairfield and Gilda Hadley of Fairfield; sons, Gilbert of Woodland, George of Reedley, Gerald of Tualatin, Ore., Grant of Vallejo and Greg of Fairfield; 41 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; daughters, Geneva Lavars and Gail; and son, Gene.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

A memorial contribution can be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 801  Jefferson St., No. 2, Fairfield 94533, or the Scleroderma Research Foundation, 2320 Bath St., Santa Barbara 93105.

Charles O. Naso

A Catholic Prayer Service for Charles O. Naso, 56, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly of St. Joseph's Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born in Lorain, Ohio, on July 31, 1941, Mr. Naso died June 12, 1998, in Vallejo after a short illness.

He lived in Vacaville two years. For several years, he had been employed by Qualex Photo Finishing as a production manager.

He enjoyed building model boats and playing with his grandchildren.

Mr. Naso is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Victor of Fallon, Nev., Ronald of Yuba City and Raymond of Vacaville; father, Sam of California; five grandchildren; and several cousins.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A memorial contribution may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 1761 Broadway St., Vallejo 94590.

Otis M. Baker

Funeral services for Otis M. Baker, 64, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dixon.

Bishop Joel Sanderson of the Dixon Ward will officiate.

Mr. Baker will be buried in the Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Dec. 2, 1933, in Bakersfield, Mr. Baker died June 13, 1998, at home from cancer.

He served in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He moved to the Dixon area in 1958. He retired from AT&T.

He was a former Cub Scout master and belonged to the Dixon Little League and the Dixon RC Flying Club. He enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and prospecting.

Survivors include his wife, Carlene of Dixon; sons, Robert Davis of Porterville and Richard and Garrett of Dixon; daughter, Brenda Moran of Stirling, Va.; sister, Norma Watts of  Oklahoma; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Yolo County Hospice.

Arrangements are handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Eleanor 'Nell' Chalmers

A Catholic prayer service for Eleanor "Nell" Chalmers, 76, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Inurnment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Born July 31, 1921, in Ross, Mrs. Chalmers died June 6, 1998, at her Fairfield home after a short illness.

She lived in Fairfield for 44 years.

She graduated from Mount Tamalpais High School and from the College of Marin. She moved to Fairfield in 1954, where she worked for the Solano County Agriculture Department as an executive secretary for 15 years.

She was always loving, forgiving and supportive of all whose lives she graced. She loved her home and garden, entertaining friends and balancing family, friends and work.

She belonged to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Green Valley Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Susan of Novato and Scott and Cindy of Chico; brother, Kenneth Schwerin of Southern California; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and John Reza of Vallejo; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Marie of Vallejo; grandson, Mark of Novato; granddaughters, Mary Ann of Novato, Christa of Chico and Cara of Eugene, Ore.

Marion L. Coburn

A private funeral service will be held at McCune Garden Chapel for Marion L. Coburn, 76, of Vacaville.

Private interment will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born April 4, 1922, in Bedford, Ind., Ms. Coburn died June 12, 1998, in Vallejo after a brief illness.

She loved horse racing, writing music and playing the piano. She held several copyrights for musical scores she wrote. She lived in Vacaville for more than 38 years and was a homemaker for more than 50 years.

Survivors include aunts, Frances  Washington of Chicago and Nancy George of Bedford, Ind.

Albert Cupid

Funeral services for Albert Cupid, 75, of Fairfield will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in the Grace Episcopal Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. John Bogart will officiate.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Sept. 19, 1922, in New York City, Mr. Cupid died June 12, 1998, in Vallejo after a long illness.

He served as a corporal with U.S. forces during World War II in Europe. He received the Distinguished Service Award.

He was a manager at the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., where he worked for 36 years. He received a gold watch for 36 years of continuous service there.

He belonged to Grace Episcopal Church in Fairfield.

He loved photography and landscaping and graduated from the Germain School of Photography in New York.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gloria of Fairfield; daughter, Deborah of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Alma of Fairfield; sister, Lorraine Payton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; granddaughters, Dysha, Veronica and Rhonda of Fairfield.

Evelyn Rose

Funeral services for Evelyn Rose, 91, of Davis will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

The Rev. Wesley Nordman of the Dixon Community Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Born Jan. 14, 1907, in Dixon, Mrs. Rose died June 13, 1998, in Davis after a brief illness.

She lived in Dixon for more than 30 years. She was a homemaker and mother for more than 50 years.

She was a Native Daughter of the Golden West and a member of the Dixon Community Church and Tremont Mites Society.

Survivors include her son, Weston of Dixon; daughter, Sandra Rohrback Zukowski of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa 95402.

Floyd James 'Bud' Hammons

Funeral services for Floyd James "Bud" Hammons, 82, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.

Born Nov. 30, 1915, in Lincoln, Neb., Mr. Hammons died June 14, 1998, in Elk Grove after a long battle with cancer. He was a longtime past resident of Dixon, and for the past eight years lived in Elk Grove.

Mr. Hammons was employed by Marks Meat Co., Mace Humphrey Meat Co., and Stoven Brothers Meat Co. He retired in 1979 from the Meat Cutters Union after being a butcher for more than 25 years.

Mr. Hammons is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Don Weber of Sacramento; daughter, Joyce Ginther of Sacramento; grandchildren, Tony Weber of Porterville, Julie Wright of Sacramento, Teri Ezel of Galt, and Nick Ginther of Sacramento; granddaughter-in-law, Rebecca Weber of Oakdale; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Christina, Danny, and Jace Weber, all of Oakdale, Jacque and Jesse Wright of Sacramento, and Josh and Madison Ezel of Galt; brother and sister-in-law, George and Shirley of Marysville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Dennis Waterman of Twain Harte, and Alta and Elmo Deal of Sacramento.

Mr. Hammons was one of 10 children.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Grace B. McGarr

Graveside services for Grace B. McGarr, 100, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Winters Cemetery in Winters.

Born Jan. 26, 1898, in Winters, Mrs. McGarr died June 14, 1998, in Davis after a brief illness. She lived in Dixon for 25 years.

Mrs. McGarr worked as a bookkeeper for the family ranch for several years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years, was a 15-year member of the Golden Rod Chapter No. 220 in Dixon, and had also belonged to several local bridge clubs and the Dixon Women's Improvement Club.

Mrs. McGarr is survived by her nephew, Robert Ford of New Jersey; niece, Jayne Fisk of Upper Lake; great-nieces and -nephews, Richard B. Cherry of Guam, Stephen Cherry of Oregon, Amy Cherry of Florida, and Jonathan Cherry of Kansas.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Filomena Invernon Ramos

Funeral services for Filomena Invernon Ramos, 91, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Winters.

The Rev. Joseph Ternullo of St. Anthony's will officiate.

Mrs. Ramos will be buried in the Winters Cemetery in Winters.

Born April 17, 1907, in Almeria, Spain, Mrs. Ramos died June 13, 1998, in Vacaville after a sudden illness.

She worked with her husband, John, on their ranch in Winters for more than 50 years before retiring.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and working in the garden.

Survivors include her son, John of Winters; daughter and son-in-law, Rose and John Lopez of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Rose of Brookings, Ore.; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Nick Lopez of Winters; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; daughter, Isabell Gordon in 1993; brother, John Invernon and sister, Rosa Fernandez in 1998.

A family visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville. A vigil also will be held there at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Margaret 'Moggie' Lillian Fyten

A memorial service for Margaret "Moggie" Lillian Fyten, 79, of Vacaville will be 3 p.m. Friday at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St. The Rev. Wayne Augustine will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 7, 1918, in San Diego, Mrs. Fyten died June 17, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness. She had lived in Vacaville for 12 years.

She belonged to the clerical union for more than 15 years before retiring. She worked for Lucky Food Stores in the corporate offices.

She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Fyten is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Mary Wallace of Tennessee, and Ken and Patti Wallace of Vacaville; granddaughter, Tracy Wallace of Vacaville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reginald 'Reggie' F. Infante

A Mass of Christian Burial for Reginald "Reggie" F. Infante, 14, of Suisun will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will preside. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery, 1707 Union Ave.

Born March 30, 1984, in Oakland, Mr. Infante died June 13, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center. He was the victim of a drive-by shooting.

He attended Tolenas Elementary School and Grange Middle School.

He was a member of the Vallejo-Benicia chapter of the DeMolay, and the Reach Youth Catholic Program. He loved singing, but his greatest love was basketball. He was an avid Chicago Bulls fan.

He is survived by his parents, Reden and Cecilia of Suisun; paternal grandparents, Zoilo and Rizalina of Suisun; sister, Charmaine of Suisun; brother, Rowell of Suisun; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, and from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A DeMolay service will be 7 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker.

A rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
