Currie C. Manning

Quiet hour will be held for Currie C. Manning, 59, of Fairfield from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Manning died July 11, 1998, at Sunrise Healthcare after a long illness.

Born Nov. 27, 1938, in Corsicana,  Texas, he lived in Fairfield for 10 years. He worked as a service station attendant at Firestone in Fairfield for 20 years and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Manning is survived by his daughters, Edith, Mamie and Denise, all of  Texas; sisters, Mollie Moy of  Texas and Mary Frances Graham of Suisun; brothers, Mason of San Francisco, Stancil of Fairfield, and Lindsay and Drudie, both of  Texas; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.

Donna Jeannie Klase-Arms

Graveside services for Donna Jeannie Klase-Arms, 56, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Monday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Inurnment will follow.

Mrs. Klase-Arms died July 11, 1998, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek after a short illness.

Born May 18, 1942, in Oakland, she lived in Vacaville for 16 years. She graduated from Tenneyson High School in Hayward. She worked as a computer operator for 20 years, working for Childrens Hospital in Oakland, J&R Trucking in Hayward, and Lucky Distribution Center in Vacaville. She retired in 1997. She was a member of Teamsters Local No. 490 in Vallejo.

Mrs. Klase-Arms is survived by her husband, John Arms of Vacaville; daughters, Toni Maldonado of Vacaville and Margaret Alvarez of Hayward; son, Rudy Maldonado of Vacaville; father- and mother-in-law, John and Joyce Arms Sr. of Vacaville; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Solomon Javelo Bayoneta Sr.

A Catholic Prayer Service for Solomon Javelo Bayoneta Sr., 79, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Bayoneta died July 12, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 15, 1918, on the Philippine Islands, he lived in Fairfield for 24 years. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, and retired as a senior master sergeant after 35 years. He attended and graduated from Canada College in Palo Alto, receiving an business administrator's degree. He was employed at Travis in civil service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mr. Bayoneta was an avid reader and loved to travel.

Mr. Bayoneta is survived by his wife, Theresita of Fairfield; daughters and son-in-laws, Lydia and Gene Clancy of Rochester, N.Y., and Judith and Cayo Baes of Oakland; daughters, Vivian Cruz of  Pennsylvania and Shirley Noriesta of Fairfield; son, Solomon Jr. of Glendale, Ariz.; sons and daughters-in-laws, David and Sue of Oroville, and Christopher and Michelle of Vacaville; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Alberta.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Donald 'Don' Edward Marshall

Funeral services for Donald "Don" Edward Marshall, 68, will be 2 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Ron Shaw of the Orchard Avenue Baptist Church in Vacaville will officiate. Interment will be in the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Jan. 23, 1930, in Woolstock, Iowa, Mr. Marshall died July 11, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

He retired from Woodard Chevrolet in May 1993 after 36 years of service.

He was a member of the Orchard Avenue Baptist Church in Vacaville. He liked working with wood and on automobiles. He lived in Fairfield for 41 years.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Hoffman of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jack Douthit of Fairfield, Debbie and Peter Webster of Fairfield and Pam and Stan Zebrowski of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Nora of Suisun; sister, Marilyn of Woolstock, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.

Wayne Lee Martin

Funeral services for Wayne Lee Martin, 36, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Gretchen Shilts will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Martin died July 12, 1998, at VacaValley Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born March 2, 1962, in Tokyo, Japan, he lived in Fairfield for 25 years. He worked as an automobile mechanic in Fairfield for 18 years. He graduated from Armijo High School in 1980.

Mr. Martin was an avid sports fan and excelled as a softball player. He also enjoyed boating and fishing as well as other water sports.

Mr. Martin is survived by his parents, Steven and Yoneko of Dayton, Nev.; sister, Susan of Fairfield; brother, James of Fairfield; aunt and uncle, Joann and Greg Garcia of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in behalf of his grandmother, Fern Martin, who died of cancer, to American Cancer Society, 1312 Maryland St., Fairfield.

Luever Wright

Funeral services for Luever Wright, 85, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephens CME Church, Fairfield.

The Rev. Joseph Davis will officiate. Interment will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Wright died July 12, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Feb. 15, 1913, in Mount Enterprise,  Texas, she lived in Fairfield for four months. Mrs. Wright worked for various employers at Treasure Island and then for Marin Hospital in the 1940s and '50s. She then turned her attention to being a homemaker. She was a member of the Gilbert Memorial Church in Wichita Falls,  Texas, as a child, then later joined the Davis Chapel CME Church in Richmond.

She is survived by a daughter, Melva Ashford of Fairfield; sisters, Dollie Mae Pimpleton and Iola Jones, both of Fairfield, and Ardella Littleton of Lawton, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephens CME Church in Fairfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephens CME Church Building Fund, 2301 Union Ave., Fairfield.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield.

Willie A. Harris

Funeral services for Willie A. Harris, 47, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home in Cleveland, Ohio. Cremation will follow.

Born Aug. 15, 1950, in Roba, Ala., Mr. Harris died July 9, 1998, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Winnemucca, Nev.

He was raised in Alabama, joining the Air Force in 1970. He retired from the Air Force on Oct. 31, 1995.

He married Elaine Cochran Sept. 5, 1975, in Charleston, S.C. At the time of his death, he had returned to college to start a second career.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Elaine Cochran of Vacaville; daughter, Shayla C. Harris of Vacaville; stepdaughter, Kim Smith of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandson, Riley C. Smith of Cheyenne; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Arrangements are by the Albertson Funeral Home of Winnemucca, Nev.

Homer 'Si' H. Sisson

Funeral services for Homer "Si" H. Sisson, 85, of Woodland will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Dixon Community Church.

Pastor Wesley Nordman of Dixon Community Church will preside. Interment will follow at Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Sisson died July 12, 1998, in Woodland after a brief illness.

Born Oct. 26, 1912, in Red Bluff, he lived in Woodland for a short time, lived in Dixon for many years and then El Macero. He was the branch manager for Bank of America for 35 years. He was a lifetime Rotarian, past master of the Masonic Lodge of Dixon and a member of the Dixon Community Church.

Mr. Sisson enjoyed hunting, golf and fishing.

Mr. Sisson is survived by sons, Hall of Bethesda, Md., and Wade of New Mexico; grandchildren, Lori of South Lake Tahoe, Jillian and Jake Levine Sisson of New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Wendi Levine Sisson of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen in 1996.

Visitation will be at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

John Magnetti

Graveside services for John Magnetti, 87, of Fairfield will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Rockville Cemetery. Interment will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Magnetti died July 13, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center.

Born Oct. 31, 1910, in Thurber,  Texas, he lived in Fairfield for 48 years. He worked for U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind., from 1931 to 1947. He worked for Solano County delivering mail to county offices for 16 years, retiring in 1976. He was a longtime bartender at Mac's Tavern in Fairfield. He was a charter member of Order of Sons of Italy, Northern Solano Lodge No. 2534 and charter member of Fairfield Senior Bocce Club.

Mr. Magnetti was raised in Benld, Ill., and graduated from Benld High School. He lived in Indiana from 1931 to 1947. He resided in Solano County for 51 years, from 1947-1998, residing in Rockville and also Vallejo. He was an avid bocce player, winning the Illinois State Championship in 1941 and taking third place at the U.S. National Bocce Championship "B" Division in 1995 at the age of 85. He enjoyed teaching bocce to many players at the Senior Center.

Mr. Magnetti is survived by his son, Robert J. of Yuba City; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and William  Whiteneck of Rescue; grandchildren, Dan  Whiteneck of Baltimore, Md., Wendy Carmickle and Karen Slaubaugh, both of Elk Grove; two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Fairfield Senior Center, Civic Center Bocce Program, 1200 Civic Center Dr., Fairfield 94533.

Bruce Smith

A memorial service for Bruce Smith, 63, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. today at Elmira Baptist Church.

Pastor Gerald Harder will preside.

Born Dec. 31, 1934, in Oakland, Mr. Smith died July 14, 1998, in Vacaville after a short illness. He lived in Vacaville for 20 years. He worked at United Airlines for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing with his family and playing bingo with his friends. "Five days before he died he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior," explained his son, Jim.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 32 years, Fran; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Greg Heiden and Kathy and Luke Knowles; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Chris Smith and Craig and Christina Smith; three brothers, Jim, Jerry and Ray; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to Elmira Baptist Church, P.O. Box 160 Elmira 95625.

Bret Allen Duke

Memorial services for Bret Allen Duke, 34, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond.

Pastor Tibbetts of Central Assembly Church of El Sobrante will officiate. Inurnment will be in Rolling Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Duke died July 7, 1998, at his residence after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 2, 1963, in Richmond, he lived in Fairfield for eight years. He was in the U.S. Air Force for one year, worked at House of Fabrics in San Pablo as stock clerk for two years and S&S Pet Supply in Fairfield for 11 years as a warehouseman.

Mr. Duke loved to read, write poetry and bicycle.

Mr. Duke is survived by his parents, Margaret and Bill of El Sobrante; sisters, Cynthia of Richmond and Amber Smith-Duke of El Sobrante; brothers, Marcus of El Sobrante and Billy Hieb of  Washington; brother and sister-in-law, John Sr. and Miea of Oakland; aunt and uncle, David and Donna Madsen of Fairfield; cousins, Aron and Chad Madsen of Fairfield; and nephew, John Duke Jr. of Oakland.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield.

Jesus Bittner

Services will be held at a later date for Jesus Bittner, 53, of Suisun. Inurnment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery.

Born Feb. 5, 1945, in San Bernardino, Mrs. Bittner died July 16, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center after a sudden illness.

She worked for the city of San Bernardino as a secretary for eight years. She lived in Suisun for two years.

Mrs. Bittner is survived by her husband, Anthony of Suisun; daughters, Renee Helmbrecht of Victorville, Heather Pulanco of Milwaukee and April of Suisun; mother, Josephine Ramirez of Cathedral City; brother, Arthur Ramirez of Indio; sister, Emily Ramirez of Cathedral City; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and an uncle.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude, 721 South Parker St., Suite 285, Orange 92668.

Kathleen Rose Deubert

There will be a private memorial service for Kathleen Rose Deubert, 37, of Vacaville.

She will be buried in the state of Maryland next to her late husband.

Mrs. Deubert died July 17, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born March 14, 1961, in Tehachapi, she was a Vacaville resident for the past 20 years. She worked for the Bank of New York for 10 years. She loved outdoor camping, fishing, reading and flowers. She also enjoyed gambling.

She is survived by her sons, Gregory and Evan of Vacaville; mother, Barbara C. Linfesty of Vacaville; sister, Vickie Marie Sparks of Fairfield; fiance, Leroy Graham of Vacaville; and friends, Ivan Cooper and Michael Sparks.

Mrs. Deubert was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; father, Ralph Linfesty; and brother, Jon Linfesty.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo 94590 or the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Brandanini, 290 Fruitvale Ave., Vacaville 95688.
