Robert Wayne Carlile

Funeral services for Robert Wayne Carlile, 55, of Suisun will be 1 p.m. today at the Temple Baptist Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Bob Lewis will preside. Burial will be private.

Born June 8, 1943, in El Cerito, Mr. Carlile died Aug. 24, 1998, in Sacramento after a short illness. He lived in Suisun for 26 years.

Mr. Carlile graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1961, then earned an associate's degree in applied sciences in aeronautics at Solano Community College in 1974.

He served six years in the Navy, from 1961 to 1967.

Mr. Carlile worked in civil service at Travis Air Force Base for the past 26 years as a non-destructive inspection technician. He lived in San Pablo and Richmond since 1943 prior to moving to Solano County.

He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, Fairfield Moose Lodge No. 861, Montezuma Shrine Club in Vacaville, Ben Ali Shrine Temple in Sacramento, Solano Shrine Clowns in Vallejo, Vacaville F&A.M. Lodge No. 134 in Vacaville, and the Sacramento Scottish Rite in Sacramento Valley.

Mr. Carlile is survived by his wife, Sharan of Suisun; daughter, Lisa of Fairfield; son, Jeffrey of Fairfield; father, Louis of Fairfield; mother, Bea of Fairfield; brother, Jerry of Fairfield; sisters-in-law, Margaret of Fairfield and Elaine Miller of Elk Grove; daughter-in-law, Jennifer of Fairfield; mother-in-law, Ruth Bonds of Modesto; father-in-law, Claude Bonds of Modesto; and brothers-in-law, Jerald Bonds of Colorado Springs,  Colo., Timothy Bonds of Rio Linda, and Kevin Bonds of Petaluma.

Visitation will be 8:30 to 11 a.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. A masonic service will take place at the Temple Baptist Church preceding the church funeral service.

Contributions may be made to the Northern Shriners Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817; or the Moose Heart, Moose Heart, Ill., 60539.

Shirley Hall Everding

A private scattering service for Shirley Hall Everding, 72, will be held Sept. 11 off the coast of Marin County.

A native of Livingston, Mont., Mrs. Everding died in Folsom on Aug. 10, 1998. She lived in Cameron Park in El Dorado County for the past three years after moving from Santa Rosa.

Mrs. Everding was a graduate of Vallejo High School, a charter member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church, coordinator with the Fairfield Republican Headquarters in the 1960s, a Suisun Valley 4-H Club leader, a member of Suisun Valley PTA, and the coordinator for the Alcoholics Anonymous Hotline of El Dorado County.

Mrs. Everding is survived by her children, Shirley Rush, Laura Sheldon, Jeff Magiera, all of Fairfield, and Cynthia King of Cameron Park; sister, Carol Baumgartner of Mountain View; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. To the children, she was known as "Nonnie."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Backus; and her parents, Eugene O. and Mildred L. Tillguist.

Contributions can be made to local food closets and homeless shelters.

Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Northern California.

Robert Henry Shulman

Funeral services for Robert Henry Shulman, 69, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Home of Eternity Chapel in Oakland. Rabbi Marvin Schwab will preside. Burial will follow.

Mr. Shulman died Aug. 27, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness.

He was a veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked in the furniture business for many years and owned and operated United Furniture Company until his retirement in 1988.

Mr. Shulman is survived by his daughters, Debra Williams of Orangevale and Sheri Lash of Alexandria, Va.; sister, Sara Farage of Pleasanton; and granddaughters, Kelli and Stephanie Williams, both of Orangevale.

Contributions may be made to City of Hope, 1500 East Duarte Road, Duarte 91010.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Edward Earl Worthan, Barbara Lee Worthan

Memorial services for Edward Earl Worthan, 64, and Barbara Lee Worthan, 66, of Paso Robles will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville.

The Rev. Milton Speck of Trinity Baptist Church will preside. Burial will be at Atascadero Cemetery in Atascadero.

Both died Aug. 17, 1998, from injuries suffered in a single-car accident on Interstate 5 in Stockton as the couple traveled to their home in Paso Robles from their restaurant in Vacaville.

Born Nov. 18, 1933, in Salida,  Colo., Mr. Worthan moved with his parents, Earl and Pearl, and brother, James, to Paso Robles in 1945. There he attended Paso Robles High School and worked with his father for the Atlantic Richfield Oil Co.

Mrs. Worthan, whose maiden name was Baxter, was born in Los Angeles on Aug. 14, 1932. She moved with her parents, Virgil and Ruth, brother, Donald, and sister, Flora, to Paso Robles in 1947. She attended Paso Robles High School and worked with her parents at Fosters Freeze, also in Paso Robles, where she met Edward.

The couple was married shortly after in San Miguel on Sept. 17, 1950. They raised five children in Atascadero and later in Paso Robles.

Longtime residents of San Luis Obispo County, the couple started several successful local businesses including the Black Oak Restaurants and the Little Acorn Restaurant in Paso Robles in 1960; the Black Oak Restaurant in Vacaville in 1970 and Palo Alto in 1978; Worthco Incorporated Property Development and California Restaurant Supply Co. in 1977; and the Adobe Plaza Shopping Center in Atascadero in 1978.

They are survived by their children, Linda Kenyon of Vacaville, Bob of Paso Robles, Eddie of Atascadero, and Bonnie of Aruba; and grandchildren, Chandelle Curtis, Jesse Kenyon, Dana Worthan and Heather Kenyon, all of San Luis Obispo County.

Mrs. Worthan is also survived by her father, Virgil Baxter; and brother, Donald Baxter.

Lois R. Wadhams Behm

Funeral and burial services for Lois R. Wadhams Behm, 90, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rockville Cemetery Chapel in Suisun.

The Rev. Bob Lewis of Temple Baptist Church will preside.

Born April 24, 1908, in Vallejo, Mrs. Behm died Aug. 25, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Fairfield.

Mrs. Behm was a homemaker. She graduated from Green Valley Grammar School in 1922. She also graduated from Paramount Beauty School in 1926.

She was the daughter of Maude Hyatt and William Adams, who were early pioneer settlers in Cordelia.

Mrs. Behm was a 49-year member of the Pocahontas, Suisun Council 205; and the Turtles, Inc. She was an avid bowler and bowled well into her 70s.

Mrs. Behm is survived by her husband, Wallace of Fairfield; stepdaughters, Marie Selp of Foster City, Kathy Kleimand of San Mateo, and Marsha Jean Peterson of South San Francisco; stepsons and wives, Mark and Loretta of Fairfield, and Marshall and Arlene of Thermo; aunt, Florence Hyatt Menini of Sonoma; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Raymond 'Buck' Dennis

Funeral services for Raymond "Buck" Dennis, 83, of Fairfield will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Burial will be private at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born April 5, 1915, in Watonga, Okla., Mr. Dennis died Aug. 27, 1998, in Fairfield after a brief illness.

He was a Vacaville and Solano County resident for more than 50 years.

Mr. Dennis worked for the Solano Irrigation District for 25 years and prior to that he had been the fire chief for the Allendale Fire Department.

In his earlier years, Mr. Dennis enjoyed building race cars.

He worked with Howard Hughes on the "Spruce Goose," and also played with the Roy Rodgers band.

Mr. Dennis is survived by his wife, Voicie Mae of Vacaville; son, John D. Bertinoia of Vacaville; stepsons, Bill Hicks of Vacaville, Gary Hicks of Prescott, Ark., and Kenneth Bertinoia of Winters; stepdaughter, Maria Thompson of Dixon; nieces, Betty Williams of Madison, and Pat Koontz of Woodland; nephew, Larry Long of Thompson Falls, Mont.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Alan C. Barfield

A memorial service for Alan C. Barfield, 44, of Fairfield will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Sept. 13, 1953, in San Antonio,  Texas, he died in his Fairfield home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Barfield lived in Fairfield 38 years and was in the Marines for three years.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1971, and had worked as a carpenter and diesel mechanic in Vacaville, Fairfield and Benicia.

He enjoyed music, the outdoors, animals, water-skiing and sports.

Mr. Barfield is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Albert Barfield-Fox and Vivian and Michael Hammond, all of Vacaville, and niece, Candice Nicole Fox of Vacaville.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Lillie Pearl Dorsey

Graveside services for Lillie Pearl Dorsey, 80, of Fairfield will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate.

Born Nov. 15, 1917, in Opelousas, La., she died Aug. 24, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mrs. Dorsey is survived by daughter, Jeannie Fields of Fairfield; sons, Ivory and Wilbert, both of Fairfield; brother, Bud Ceasar of Opelousas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

Lester M. Siebe

No formal funeral services will be held for Lester M. Siebe, 76, of Suisun Valley.

Inurnment will be private in Rockville Cemetery in Suisun.

Born Dec. 30, 1921, in Suisun Valley, he died Aug. 28, 1998, in his home after a brief illness.

He served in the Army's 71st Division under Gen. George Patton during 1944-1946 and retired in 1976 after 37 years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic.

He was a past master of Suisun Lodge No. 55, F&AM, and was a member of N.A.R.F.E. No. 1529.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary, to Europe, visiting many places he remembered from his military service.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Siebe is survived by sisters, Ruth Allbright of Hemet and Dorene Darville of Suisun, and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Janet R. Sinclair

A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet R. Sinclair, 59, of Vacaville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville.

Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Oct. 17, 1938, in Oakland, she died Aug. 25, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother for 34 years and put her family members first.

Mrs. Sinclair is survived by her husband, Douglas; son, Scott of Vacaville; father, Ralph McNeely of Vacaville; sister, Diane Carringer of Seattle; grandchildren, Zachary and Stacey Sinclair of Vacaville; and nephew, James Carringer of Seattle.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today in the chapel.

A memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial/Honor Program FH, 1 St. Jude Place Building, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 300, Memphis, Tenn., 38148-0552.

Louisa Sanchez Alaniz

Graveside funeral services for Louisa Sanchez Alaniz, 80, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Brother Richard Wasser will officiate.

Mrs. Alaniz died Aug. 29, 1998, in Walnut Creek after a sudden illness.

Born Aug. 25, 1918, in Qualila, Piedras Negras, Mexico, she moved to Vacaville 33 years ago. She worked for Basic Vegetable for 15 years. She also was a member of the Teamsters Local 857 in Sacramento.

Mrs. Alaniz is survived by her daughter, Beatrix Negrete of Sacramento; sons and daughters-in-law, Antonio and Thelma of San Jose; Raul of Hayward; Gilbert and Elvira of Las Vegas; daughter, Marguerita DeLa Rosa of Vacaville; sisters, Monica Sanchez and Nativadad Quiorga, both of  Texas; brother, Macario Sanchez of  Texas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel, with services at 6:30.

Ivy Louise Binion

Funeral services for Ivy Louise Binion, 68, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Binion died Aug. 31, 1998, in Fairfield after a sudden illness.

Born March 20, 1930, in Ada, Okla., she moved to Solano County 56 years ago.

Mrs. Binion is survived by her sons, Truman of Vacaville and Garry of Fairfield; brother, Carl Penrod of Vacaville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday in McCune Garden Chapel.
