Della Beckley

Funeral services and inurnment for Della A. Beckley, 94, of Vacaville will be private.

Mrs. Beckley died Nov. 13, 1998, in Vacaville after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 18, 1904, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she lived in Vacaville for two years. She was a devoted homemaker for 60 years.

Mr. Beckley loved gardening and growing beautiful roses.

Mrs. Beckley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Sharron of Diamond Springs; grandson, Craig of Vacaville, great-grandchildren, Joseph, Eric and Jennifer, all from Vacaville; other family and many friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's choice of charity.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Mario Ferraris

Graveside services for Jeremiah Mario Ferraris, a newborn, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Interment will follow. Chaplain Keith Knauff will officiate.

Born Nov. 17, 1998, in Sacramento, Jeremiah died the same day in Sacramento.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Christine Ferraris of Vacaville; sister, Torrie Ferraris of Vacaville; grandmothers, Dorothy  Johnson of Hayward and Betty Ferraris of Vacaville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Zachary Bancroft.

Charles E. Moomey

Services for Charles E. Moomey, 83, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Sept. 22, 1916, in Fruitland, Iowa, Mr. Moomey died Nov. 17, 1998, in Vacaville.

A resident of Vacaville for 42 years, Mr. Moomey retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He then began work with the California Department of Corrections at California Medical Facility as a medical technical assistant. He retired in 1977.

Mr. Moomey was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge of Vacaville, Knights Templer No. 38, Royal Arch No. 43, Scottish Rite, Ben Ali Shrine of Sacramento and for many years served as secretary of Blue Lodge No. 134. He received many awards for his dedication to the Masonic Lodge of California and had served in numerous leadership capacities. He was loved by many and was known for his humor.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Vacaville; sister, Edna Whitlock of Iowa; daughters, Mary Ann Arndt and Donna Denter of Wisconsin, Charlene Adams of  Texas and Diane Rains of Elk Grove; son, Charles of Marysville; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McCune Garden Chapel. Friends are invited to the Masonic Lodge after funeral services.

Lawrence Davis Boothby

Funeral services for Lawrence Davis Boothby, 85, of Vacaville will be Saturday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Chaplin James Armstrong of Travis Air Force Base will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Boothby died Nov. 18, 1998, of heart failure in Fairfield.

Born March 6, 1913, in Saco, Maine, he resided in Vacaville for 36 years. He was a World War II veteran, with 22 years in the Army and 16 years civil service at Travis, after which he retired in 1979.

Mr. Boothby loved to participate in the March of Dimes Walkathon and was proud to be one of its oldest walkers.

Mr. Boothby is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mitsuko of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Candy of Stockton; son, Chris of Redding; sister, Phyllis Vining of Saco, Maine; and two grandchildren, Jeff and Robyn, both of Stockton.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Fred Spencer Jr.

Funeral services with full military honors for Fred Spencer Jr., 67, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Pastor Alex Flores will officiate. Inurnment will be private at the Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Spencer died Nov. 16, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 7, 1931, in Chicago, he lived in Fairfield for 26 years. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1972, retiring in 1972 as a technical sergeant while in the Air Force.

Mr. Spencer worked in the Military Air Police for a number of years. He later worked for Solano Garbage for 10 years and Kenmore Properties for 10 years. He retired in 1992.

Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife of 41 years, Juanita of Fairfield; daughters, Joanne Hilliard and Sylvia Whitman, both of Los Angeles, Rita Hairston of Sacramento, and Wanda of Fairfield; sons, Michael, Dale, Marvin and Shawn, all of Fairfield; sister, Rosetta Archibald of Roswell, N.M.; brother, William Milliedge of Braden, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Joseph V. Duleck

Funeral services for Joseph V. Duleck, 2, of Suisun will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

The Rev. Tony Williams of Golden Gate Church of Christ, San Francisco will officiate. Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Joseph died Nov. 19, 1998, at home after a long illness.

Born Aug. 8, 1996, in Vallejo, he resided in Suisun.

He is survived by his parents, Harry J. and Michelle of Suisun; sister, Gail Dashineau of Fairfield; brother, Harry V. of Suisun; maternal grandfather, Jack Vess of Hawaii; aunt, Sharon Burton of Fairfield; and cousins, Brent and Brandon Burton, both of Fairfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to Children's National Cancer Society, 1015 Locust St., Suite 60, St. Louis, MO 63101.

Lisa Mendiola Torrence

Funeral services for Lisa Mendiola Torrence, 37, of Suisun City will be 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Michael Downey will preside. Interment will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Torrence died Nov. 18, 1998, in Suisun City after a long illness.

Born Aug. 5, 1961, in Spokane, Wash., she resided in Suisun City for 37 years. She worked for the city of Fairfield, serving as coordinator for City Hall in the Mall. She worked for the city for 14 years.

She graduated from Armijo High School in 1979 and Heald Business College in 1982. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and City of Fairfield Employees Association.

Mrs. Torrence loved her family and camping.

Mrs. Torrence is survived by her husband, Michael J. of Suisun; sons, Mikey and Taylor, both of Suisun; mother and father, Rosa and Jose Mendiola, both of Fairfield; sisters and brother-in-laws, Jan and Mike Yonan of Merced, Lou and Chuck Anfield of Fairfield; Connie and Dave Tiatano of Suisun; brothers, Joe Mendiola of Atwater and Paul Mendiola of Fairfield; mother-in-law, Carlene S. Hall of Suisun; brothers-in-law, Dave of Fairfield, Tom Loney of San Diego and Carl Loney of Suisun; and sisters-in-law, Gail of Fairfield and Ruth Ann Loney of Marysville.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Donald Eugene Vice Jr.

A memorial service for Donald Eugene Vice Jr., 31, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wrenthram Drive in Vacaville.

Mr. Vice died at VacaValley Hospital on Nov. 18, 1998, after a short illness.

He was employed with Maaco Auto Painting Bodyworks in Vacaville.

Mr. Vice is survived by his sister, Leslie Clark of Loomis; mother, Verna Vice of Sacramento; aunt and uncle, Phil and Laura Harris of Vacaville; and other aunts and uncles.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., Fairfield 94533.

Clyde Emerson Buffington

Funeral services for Clyde Emerson Buffington, 76, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Interment will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate.

Born Aug. 7, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa, Mr. Buffington died Nov. 18, 1998, in Fairfield.

A resident of Fairfield for 45 years, he served in the Navy for six years during both World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Buffington worked as a carpenter supervisor for 37 years and loved to camp, fish and cook with his family. He was a member of the Carpenters Local No. 180 in Vallejo for 51 years.

He also was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Fairfield Lodge 1976 in which he served as exalted ruler from 1969 to 1970. He was a member for 34 years, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Mr. Buffington is survived by his wife of 52 years, Devita; sons, Steve of Elk Grove and Mark of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christine of Vacaville; daughters, Coleen Parks of Fairfield and Maureen Padilla of Pleasanton; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Larry Kraak of Winters; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Dorothy of Martinez; sisters, Kathryn Lindsey of Clearlake, Iowa, and Myrna Mondt of Dent, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. A Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Fairfield Lodge 1976 also will hold a memorial service there at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Jimmie L. Green

Funeral services for Jimmie Lowell Green, 58, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fairfield Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery. The Rev. Martin Simms of Primitive Baptist Church of Loomis will officiate.

Born Jan. 1, 1940, in Mansfield, Ark., Mr. Green died Nov. 19, 1998, in Fairfield.

A resident of Fairfield for 22 years, Mr. Green served in the Air Force for 23 years. He was a loadmaster and retired in 1979 after serving as a master sergeant in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Francoise of Fairfield; daughters, Sandra Lutz and Sylvia Cameron, both of Fairfield and Arnette Layne of Arkansas; grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Lutz and David Courtney, all of Fairfield, Mathew and Sheldon Layne both of Arkansas; and great-grandchild, Rudolfo Phillips of Fairfield.

Donald Eugene Vice Jr.

A memorial service for Donald Eugene Vice Jr., 31, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wrenthram Drive in Vacaville.

Iris Evelyn Watson

Funeral services for Iris Evelyn Watson, 71, of Fairfield will be at 3 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watson died Nov. 20, 1998, in Fairfield following a short illness.

Born Nov. 1, 1927, in the county of Chester in England, Mrs. Watson worked the past 27 years with JCPenney Co. Inc. as a decorating and advertising executive.

A 30-year resident of Fairfield, she was a member of the Fairfield Women in Action with hobbies of interior decorating, being a seamstress, and travelling.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her son, Scott H. of Fairfield; daughter, Kim S. Watson-Pavich of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Renee N. of Cloverdale and Lauren M. Pavich of Fairfield; grandsons, Dominic S. Boinich of Kirkland, Wash., and Johan M. of Vacaville; brothers, William Morgan of Toronto, Canada, and Ronald Morgan of Somerset, England; and sisters, Eunice Lones and Shirley Quinn, both of Cheshire, England.

Gwendolyn C. Wilson

Funeral services for Gwendolyn C. Wilson, 73, of Fairfield will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Vaca Hills Chapel.

Mrs. Wilson died Nov. 22, 1998, of natural causes in the NorthBay Medical Center.

Born Dec. 1, 1924, in San Francisco, Mrs. Wilson, a homemaker, moved to the Fairfield area 13 years ago. She loved crafting, fashion, and gardening.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by her two daughters, Marsha Lynn Guerriero and Billy Joy Sheps; four grandchildren, Richard Guerriero, Kelli Lynn Guerriero, Mark Sheps and Margaret Sheps; a great-granddaughter, Devon Lynn Guerriero; two sons-in-law, Ralph Guerriero and Efriam Sheps; and a granddaughter-in-law, Lorilee Guerriero.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1992.

Thomas Kane Baldenweck

At the request of the family, there will be no formal services for Thomas Kane Baldenweck, 53, of Fairfield. Interment will be private in Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Baldenweck died Nov. 22, 1998, in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 29, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., he lived in Fairfield for one year. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired as a major. He was a platoon leader and company commander in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He worked as an assistant professor of military science at Santa Clara University from 1975-1978. He finished his career as a systems analyst for development of new army vehicles and weapons. While in Vietnam he received the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Mr. Baldenweck was a devoted family man.

Mr. Baldenweck is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marjorie of Fairfield; daughters, Eleanor Claire, Agnes Virginia and Irene Barbara, all of Fairfield; sons, Joseph Thomas and Alfred Francis, both of Fairfield; brother, Daniel Young of Glendale, Mo.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
