Muoi Tang

Funeral services for Muoi Tang, 92, of Suisun will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Thich Chan Ton, abbot of Phat Quanng Temple in Fairfield, will preside. Interment will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Tang died Dec. 8, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield following a short illness.

Born Dec. 22, 1905, in Guang Chow Province, China, she had lived in Suisun for 18 years.

Mrs. Tang migrated to Vietnam when she was 19. In 1979, she came to the United States to join her family and lived in Clearfield, Utah, for a year before moving on, eventually coming to Suisun.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Tang was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years.

She is survived by her sons, Tu Diec Luu of San Francisco and My Ha Luu of Vacaville; seven daughters, Kieu Luu, Kieu Tran, Ann Kim Luu, and Hoa Ai Luu, all of Suisun, Muoi Luu of Houston, and An Le Ly and Yen Le Ly, both of Vietnam; 41 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Gloria Hawkins

A memorial celebration for Gloria Hawkins, 73, of Vacaville will be 3 p.m. Dec. 19 at Unity Church of the Valley, 350 N. Orchard Ave. Private inurnment will follow.

Mrs. Hawkins died Dec. 8, 1998, at her home following a long illness.

Born April 1, 1925, in Yonkers, N.Y., she was married to Ben Hawkins, former Reporter columnist and San Jose Mercury-News business writer, for 50 years, until his death in April 1997. They retired to Vacaville in 1990.

She worked for 27 years as a secretary in the insurance business, principally with Home Life Insurance Co. She was known for her concern for others, dedication to her clients, ability to solve problems and excellent customer service. Most recently, she worked at The Reporter, compiling the newspaper's Datebook entertainment listings.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Hawkins was happiest when her family was together. She loved to share her cooking at special family events. She loved her animals, including her Labrador retriever, Thor, and enjoyed watching birds and gardening.

When the Hawkins couple first came to Vacaville, they were embraced by the community, made new friends and quickly became involved in many activities, family members said.

Mrs. Hawkins volunteered at Kaiser clinics in Fairfield and Vacaville and became a passionate Vacaville Bulldogs fan. She was diagnosed earlier this year with multiple myeloma and "fought a good fight - she didn't want to leave the party of life," her family said.

They added that they will miss teasing her, her presence and her love of life.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Linda and Fred  Jones and granddaughter, Stephanie of Vacaville; son, Douglas of Redwood City; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Marie Hawkins and grandchildren, Alexander and Lauren of San Jose; and daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Molay and grandsons Jason and Ian of Hillsboro, Ore.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kaiser Hospice or the Kaiser Volunteer Programs, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo 94589.

Verna Plummer

Funeral services for Verna Plummer, 89, of Vacaville will be 1 a.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

The Rev. Rick Willock of Evangel Christian Center in San Pablo will officiate. Burial will be in the Rolling Hills Memorial Park.

Mrs. Plummer died Dec. 8, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital following a short illness.

Born Oct. 8, 1909, in Jasper, Ark., she lost her mother at 16 and became the mother to her eight brothers and one sister. A homemaker, Mrs. Plummer lived in Vacaville for the past 15 years.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Rowe of Craig,  Colo.; son, Merle Plummer of Vacaville; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Charlesia Plummer of San Pablo, Jerry and Barbara Plummer of Willits, Fred and Beverly Plummer of Vacaville, Clem and Lori Plummer of Sunnyvale, and Carl and Sandy Plummer of Rock Springs, Wyo.; sister, Leta Swift of  Oklahoma; brothers, Paul, John, Fred, Delbert, and Emmitt Starr, all of  Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Plummer was preceded in death by her husband, Claud, and brothers, Lawrence, Clem, Devo, and Paul Plummer.

A visitation is scheduled for today from 4-9 p.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

Alva Guy 'Al' Campbell

A celebration of life for Alva Guy "Al" Campbell, 84, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Mortuary in Fair Oaks.

Born July 24, 1914, in Oroville, Mr. Campbell died Dec. 9, 1998, of natural causes during a trip to Reno.

A graduate of Oroville High School, Mr. Campbell retired from forestry service in 1971 in St. Helena after 27 years of service. He was stationed in various counties such as Tehama, Monterey and Napa. He was a resident of Orangevale until two years ago when he moved to Vacaville. Mr. Campbell was an avid angler and loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed music, long walks, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Madeline; daughter, Gail  Johnson of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lou Moore of Vacaville; and grandchildren, Laura Perez and Kelly Moore, both of Vacaville, and Jennifer Rocksrod of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his brother, Murray Lavern Campbell.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's charity of choice.

Alvin Lee Eaton

Funeral services for Alvin Lee Eaton, 57, of Suisun City will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Glen W. Green from the Church of God will officiate. Interment will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Born Sept. 23, 1941, in Tulare, Mr. Eaton died Dec. 10, 1998, in Fairfield. A resident of Suisun City for one year, Mr. Eaton worked for De Weese as an equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Anna of Suisun City; daughters, Cindy Stirlen of Modesto and Kimberly Parr of Suisun City; sons, Bobby Teaque of Galt, and Stanley of Tulare and Steven of Suisun City; sisters, Oleta Pevlhouse of Clovis and Wilma Morrell of Earlimart; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryan Braker Funeral Home.

Richard A. Graham

A memorial service with military honors for Richard A. Graham, 68, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Inurnment will be private.

Born April 16, 1930, in Saginaw, Mich., Mr. Graham died Dec. 11, 1998, in Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.

A Fairfield resident since 1959, he served for 22 years in the Air Force before retiring in 1971 as a master sergeant. He worked as an appliance repairman until 1974 when he retired to pursue his hobbies. He enjoyed radio-controlled airplanes and ultralite airplanes. He was a member of the Ultralite Association.

Mr. Graham is survived by his wife, Patricia of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Candy of Fairfield, and Rik and Leeann of Fairfield; son, William of Everett, Wash.; mother and stepfather, Mary and Flave Stimpson of Freeland, Mich.; sister, Barbara A. Engerer of Alamo; and brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Aloha and David and Sherry, all of Saginaw, Mich.

Memorial contributions cane be made to the donor's charity of choice.

Maria C. Santos

Funeral services for Maria C. Santos, 78, of San Diego will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Eugenio Lopez of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born March 11, 1920, in San Martin Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, Mrs. Santos died Dec. 9, 1998, in Tijuana, Mexico.

A resident of Vacaville from 1961-75, she worked at Basic Vegetable for 10 years. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Blas Murillo of Vacaville, Graciela and Hugo Villasenor of Vacaville, and Marcie and Randy Storbo of Petaluma; daughter, Rosemary of Arcadia; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Maria of Vacaville and Martin and Esther of Vacaville; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Harold Cox

A memorial service for Harold Cox, 86, of Vacaville will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Community Presbyterian Church in Vacaville.

Born July 25, 1912, in Strasburg, Mo., Mr. Cox died Dec. 12, 1998, in Fairfield.

A graduate of Santa Paula High School and Ventura College, he was an active football and basketball player. He served in the Army during World War II. He lived in Benicia and retired from the Solano County Department of Public Works after 30 years as a civil engineer, designing many of the roads throughout Solano County.

He was past master of Benicia Lodge No. 5 & AM. He served a term as a member of the Benicia School Board. After his retirement, he lived in Vacaville for the last 18 years, enjoying gardening, woodworking and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Suzanne and son-in-law, Darrell Bailey of Vacaville; and his grandson and wife, Byron and Katie Cone of Santa Rosa.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Presbyterian Church New Organ Fund, 425 Hemlock, Vacaville 95688, or to the donor's charity of choice.

Nadia Nina Donovan

Funeral services for Nadia Nina Donovan, 70, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Pastor Keith Knauf will officiate.

Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Donovan died Dec. 14, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital following a long illness.

Born June 10, 1928, in Oakland, she moved to the area 21 years ago. She was a real estate secretary for 35 years.

Mrs. Donovan is survived by her daughter, Julie Valtakis of Vacaville; son, Steven of Vacaville; a brother, Al Shpil of Castro Valley; and grandchildren, Barry of Vacaville and Jimmy and Carina of South Lake Tahoe.

Visitation is 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Vaca Hills Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Association.

Joanne Lopez

A funeral service for Joanne Lopez, 67, was held Wednesday in Albany, Ore. Mrs. Lopez died Dec. 7, 1998, in Albany after a long illness.

Pastor David Thompson officiated at the memorial services in Riverside Baptist Church in Albany. Mrs. Lopez is buried at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Albany.

Born April 6, 1931, in Crane,  Texas, Mrs. Lopez lived in Vacaville for many years. She moved to Oregon in 1988.

Mrs. Lopez is survived by her husband, Bill of Albany; mother, Mary Kennedy of Albany; son, Loren Kirk of Pocahantas, Ark.; sisters, Charlene McGilvray of Albany and Wanda Oversby of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; stepdaughter, Julie Rojas of Winters; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Riverside Baptist Church, c/o Marion Thomas Scholarship Fund, 2140 Hill St. SE, Albany, Ore., 97321.

Delores I. Lynch

No funeral services will be held for Delores I. Lynch, 71, of Vacaville, who died Dec. 12, 1998, in Vacaville following a long illness.

Inurnment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Born June 4, 1927, in Great Falls, Mont., she had lived in Vacaville for two years and had previously lived in Fairfield for 31 years.

Mrs. Lynch worked as a veterinarian assistant in Fairfield from 1966-74 and was owner of Verdels Ceramic Supply in Suisun for 15 years. She was a former member of the Solano County Genealogy Society.

Mrs. Lynch is survived by her husband of 53 years, Verle of Vacaville; a daughter, Carlyne of Portland, Ore.; son, Darryl of Plano,  Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Kary and Deirdre of San Jose; and a grandson, Erich of San Jose.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Georgenton Louis Tummolo

Graveside services for Georgenton Louis Tummolo, 69, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Downey of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will preside.

Mr. Tummolo died Dec. 8, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center following a short illness.

Born Oct. 26, 1929, in Georgetown, Pa., he had lived in Fairfield for 25 years.

Mr. Tummolo was in the U.S. Air Force from 1946-74, serving in both Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a master sergeant, then worked for Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for 18 years as a metals inspector. He retired in 1992.

Mr. Tummolo enjoyed oil painting and fishing and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2335 in Suisun.

He is survived by his wife, Fumi of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, George M. and Chika Tummolo of Japan; and two sisters, Dorothy Dotson and Mary Prinse, both of Wise, Va.

Private visitation will be held.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Dan Beckwith

A memorial service for Dan Beckwith, 56, of Fairfield will be at 7 p.m. today at Fairfield Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor John Lomacang will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born July 17, 1942, in Battle Creek, Mich., Mr. Beckwith died Dec. 13, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center.

A loss control representative with Golden Eagle Insurance for 12 years, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fairfield Seventh-day Adventist Church and played guitar in the "Bunkhouse Gang Band." The band plays at local convalescent centers and senior centers.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Fairfield; daughters, Anita Griffin of Auburn, Wash., and Diane Wood of Battle Creek; mother, Alpha of Auburn, Wash.; granddaughter, Jessica Griffin of Auburn; grandson, Beau Wood of Battle Creek; and brother, Stanley of Battle Creek.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fairfield Funeral Home.

Henry Clay Beitler

Funeral services for Henry Clay Beitler, Jr., 80, of Vacaville will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at McCune Garden Chapel. Burial will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Jan. 26, 1918, in Eastmillstone, N.J., Mr. Beitler died Dec. 13, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base following a long illness.

Raised in Nebraska, he lived in Vacaville for 41 years.

Retired from the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Beitler was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association, 11th Bomb Group (H) Association, and Vaca Valley Radio Club. He also enjoyed leather work and doing woodwork on his scroll saw.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances of Vacaville; son, Bob Beitler of Bay Point; daughter, Janice Ambrose of Suisun City; two step-daughters, Eleana Chappell of Garden Grove and Kathleen Blinkhorn of Sacramento; three brothers, David of Denver, Richard of Hastings, Neb., and Evan of Trumbull, Neb.; two sisters, Ruth Recihstein and Helen Graham, both of Trumbull; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald, in November 1968.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 17 at McCune Garden Chapel.
