Joe M. Macias

Funeral services for Joe M. Macias, 67, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Macias died Dec. 14, 1998, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Born March 11, 1931, in Whittier, he lived in Fairfield for 29 years. He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force with 27 years of service before retiring in 1974. After retiring he worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard.

Mr. Macias is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-laws, Carolyn and Willie Lipkin of Fairfield, Virginia and Jaime of Suisun City and Vivian and Jeff Graska of Fairfield; sons, Jesse of Fairfield and son and daughter-in-law, John and Penny of Fairfield; brothers, Martin and Tito of Whittier; sisters, Natalia O'Campo and Mary Vicario, both of Whittier, Hilda Razo of Hemet, Cruz Hernandes of Pico Rivera, Petra O'Campo of Hesperia and Jenny Flores of Bloomington and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Elmer A. Burton

Private services were held for Elmer A. Burton, 96, of Vacaville. The Rev. Leo Nelson officiated. Burial was in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Aug. 15, 1902, in Vacaville, Mr. Burton died Dec. 11, 1998, at Vacaville Convalescent Center.

A native of Vacaville, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Burton, who came to Vacaville in 1874. The family became interested in fruit ranching. One of their successes was the Burton prune, grown commercially in the area.

Mr. Burton attended area schools and graduated from Vacaville High School in 1922. He participated in many sports activities and was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball.

He was a partner in Beelard and Burton Chevron Service Station at the corner of Main and Bernard streets for 43 years, retiring in 1972. He was a volunteer firefighter, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, served on the original Solano County Fair Board and was also a Vacaville City Council member.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lucile; stepgrandson, Timothy Schooler Burton of Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Mildred Burton of Vacaville; niece, Dora  Jones of Vacaville; nephew, Robert Burton of Roseville and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frederick, Charles, Lester, Howard (Kay) and William.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Edwin R. Dominici

Memorial Mass for Edwin Russell Dominici, 51, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Eugenio Lopez of St. Mary's Catholic Church will preside.

Mr. Dominici died Dec. 9, 1998, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born Aug. 24, 1947, in Puerto Rico, he lived in Vacaville for six years. He worked for the county of Alameda for 10 years doing flood control.

Mr. Dominici enjoyed playing the guitar in his free time and belonged to a band in San Francisco.

Mr. Dominici is survived by his son, Tony of Vacaville; grandchildren, Christopher of Massachusetts and Anthony of San Jose; and father, Domingo of Vacaville.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Joyce Ellen Kelly

Memorial services for Joyce Ellen Kelly, 66, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Michael Downey of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Kelly died Dec. 8, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Dec. 26, 1932, in London, England, she lived in Fairfield for 35 years. She worked as a teacher's aide in the Fairfield-Suisun School District, working at Crescent Elementary and Anna Kyle Elementary and retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and an Armijo Super Band Booster for four years.

Mrs. Kelly loved to travel with her husband.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by her husband, James of Fairfield; daughters, Jennifer of Fairfield and Jannette of Salt Lake City, Utah; and numerous cousins in England.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W.  Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield 94533.

Julia Martin

At her request, there will be no services for Julia Martin, 84, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Martin died Dec. 14, 1998, at her home after a sudden illness.

Born Aug. 9, 1914, in El Paso,  Texas, she lived in Vacaville for eight years. She worked for National Can Company for 40 years as a quality control supervisor. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vacaville and Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Fairfield. She also belonged to the Senior Bowling League of Leisure Town.

Mrs. Martin enjoyed cruising and other traveling, especially to Reno and Las Vegas. She loved playing canasta at the Leisure Town Hall.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her brother, Jessie Chapparo of Los Angeles; a nephew, Ernest Lucero of San Mateo; nieces, Virginia Hassinger of Fairfield, Birdie Smickel of Santa Barbara and Pita Vergaro of Los Angeles.

Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Franklin Harold Rose

Funeral services for Franklin Harold Rose, 58, of Vacaville will be noon Saturday at the Vacaville Veterans Memorial.

Mr. Rose died Dec. 13, 1998, in a fire at his home.

Born June 5, 1940, in Denver, he moved to Vacaville in 1962. After serving four years in the Air Force, Mr. Rose worked for American Home Foods for more than 25 years, and for the past six years, he worked at McBride Senior Center.

Mr. Rose is survived by his mother, Roxana Walters of Denver; sister, Hazel Long of Denver; and brothers, Jerrett and Reid, both of Vacaville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vacaville Veterans Memorial Building Rehabilitation Fund, 549 Merchant St., Vacaville, 95688.

Robert Donald Schroeder

Graveside services for Robert Donald Schroeder, 46, of Woodland will be 11 a.m. Monday at Silveyville Cemetery, Dixon.

Pastor Jim Redfield of Seventh-day Adventist Church of Woodland will preside. Interment will be in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Schroeder died Dec. 16, 1998, in his home after a long illness.

Born Oct. 24, 1952, in Woodland, he lived in Woodland for the past 12 years, and was a prior resident of Dixon for 34 years. He worked as a farmer all of his adult life in Dixon.

Mr. Schroeder loved spending time with his family, and together they enjoyed camping and fishing. He also loved hunting.

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his wife, Sheila of Woodland; sons, Chet Swancey of Weed and Casey Swancey of Woodland; daughter, Morgan of Woodland; father, Edward Kenneth of Dixon; brother, Kenneth Jr. of Dixon; sisters, Laurie Faulkner of Yerington, Nev., Kathleen of Sterling City; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, in 1995.

Memorial contributions can be made by Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617-1014.

Arrangements are by Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Olga Ann Evanson

A Catholic Prayer Service for Olga Ann Evanson, 85, of Suisun will be 2 p.m. Monday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will preside.

Mrs. Evanson died Dec. 18, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital after a short illness.

Born Oct. 6, 1913, in Macomber, N.D., she lived in Suisun for nine years. She worked as a telephone operator for 20 years.

Mrs. Evanson is survived by her son, Tony of Suisun City; sisters, Pauline Harrington of Dumont, N.J., and Vera Beaver of Bismarck, N.D.; brother, "Bud" Kulackoski of Bismarck, N.D.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Gino Monteleone

Gino Monteleone, owner of Pietro's No. 2 for the last 33 years and a Vacaville resident for 34 years, died at home early Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, of an aortic aneurysm. He was 54.

Born Jan. 5, 1944, in Antonimia, Italy, Mr. Monteleone came to Vacaville in early 1964 to open a restaurant, said his brother-in-law, Ray Fazzare.

Shortly after arriving, Mr. Monteleone opened the Italian/American restaurant on Merchant Street, which he owned and operated with his wife of 33 years, Theresa.

"He came to work for my uncle, Pietro Murdaca, the founder of the Pietro's restaurants," Fazzare said. "He enjoyed all the aspects of the business, but I think he liked meeting people the best."

Mr. Monteleone also was an avid gardener who grew the very vegetables he used in his restaurant's kitchen.

He enjoyed snow skiing and golf and was a member of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce and the Green Valley Country Club.

Mr. Monteleone is survived by his wife, Theresa of Vacaville; son, Joseph of Vacaville; brother, Nicola of Vacaville; sister, Teresa Romano of Italy; brothers-in-law, Ray and Tony of Vacaville; sister-in-law, Lois Fazzare of Vacaville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peter and Claire Fazzare of Vacaville, Steve and Mima Norris of Vacaville and Brian and Rosie Whitley of Vacaville; mother-in-law, Francesca Fazzare of Vacaville; aunt, Amalia Murdaca of Vacaville; aunt and uncle, Concetta and Paolo Siciliano of Vacaville; and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville. Father Benedict DeLeon will officiate. Interment will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Donald Hugh McMickle

Graveside services with full military honors for Donald Hugh McMickle, 67, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. McMickle died Dec. 15, 1998, in his home.

Born Dec. 2, 1931, in Newton, N.J., he lived in Fairfield for 26 years. He retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant after 26 years of service.

Mr. McMickle is survived by his sons, Kevin and Dennis, both of Vacaville, and David, Tracy and Michael of Fairfield; a daughter, Becky Butcher of  Washington state; and 10 grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Aracelia Torres-Rosa

Funeral services for Aracelia Torres-Rosa, 73, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Vacaville.

Pastor Leroy Gainey will preside. Interment will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Torres-Rosa died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center after a short illness.

Born Aug. 21, 1925, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she lived in Fairfield for 32 years. She worked as a registered nurse for 25 years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Solano County Puerto Rican Association.

Mrs. Torres-Rosa enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Mrs. Torres-Rosa is survived by her husband, Luis of Fairfield; daughters, Carmen Rosa- White and Mildred Torres, both of Vacaville, Leticia of Fairfield and Anna Maria Rosa-Stuart of Puerto Rico; son, Jose Raul of Vacaville; sisters, Eva Torres of Baltimore, Md., and Guillermina Torres of Puerto Rico; a brother, Jose Torres of New York; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

James Pearson Baker

Funeral services with full military honors for James Pearson Baker, 60, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

A military chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Baker died Dec. 17, 1998, in his home after a short illness.

Born May 24, 1938, in  Pennsylvania, he lived in Fairfield for 22 years. He retired as a Bay Area Rapid Transit supervisor after 22 years of service. He was in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a master sergeant. He was a Vietnam War veteran.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Marie of Fairfield; daughters, Karen Leland of Sacramento and Jacqueline Moore of Fairfield; son, Timothy of Oregon; grandson, Kevin Leland of Sacramento; granddaughters, Megan Leland of Sacramento and Whitney Moore of Fairfield; and brothers, Ron of Michigan and Leroy of  Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by a son, Marc.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fairfield Funeral Home.

Terry Hardy

Funeral services for Terry Hardy, 50, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Interment will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born March 9, 1948, in Chicago, Mr. Hardy died Dec. 17, 1998, at Travis Air Force Base.

He served as a mechanic with the Air Force before retiring after 20 years. He worked for 10 years as an Army-Air Force Exchange Service shift manager. He was a Fairfield resident for nine years and loved to travel.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Joy of Fairfield; stepsons, Ryan Ancheta of Dover, Del., and Billy Joel Ancheta of the Philippines; three sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Antonio Rosado

No formal services for Antonio Miguel Rosado, 45, of Fairfield will be held at this time.

A private service will take place at a later date in Spain.

Mr. Rosado died Dec. 17, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on May 18, 1953, in Manila, Philippines, he worked as a computer programmer at Ridge Consultants and served as a member of the boosters' association for Suisun's firefighters and police officers.

He is survived by his wife, Beatriz of Suisun; mother, Mari-Carmen Rosado of Suisun; father-in-law, Julian Moya of Spain; mother-in-law, Isabel Yanez of Spain; and numerous uncles and cousins.
