H.R. 'Dick' Mason

Funeral services for H.R. "Dick" Mason, 78, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. David Zandstra of Fairfield Christian Reform Church will officiate. Entombment with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard will be in Fairmont Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the Fairfield Christian Reformed Church, 300 Marigold Drive, Fairfield, following the cemetery services.

Mr. Mason died Feb. 23, 1999, in Sutter General Hospital after a short illness.

Born Jan. 5, 1921, in Tulsa, Okla., he resided in Fairfield for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, retired as senior master sergeant in 1970. He served in World War II and was a Vietnam veteran. He was an electronics technician among many duties he had while in the Air Force. After retirement from the Air Force he worked in Vallejo for the TV Center where he was a television repairman for 15 years. He was member and deacon of the Christian Reformed Church in Fairfield.

Mr. Mason enjoyed puzzles, fishing, reading and gardening.

Mr. Mason is survived by his daughter, Joyce Swartz of Broomfield,  Colo.; sons, Richard, Roger, John and Jim, all of Fairfield; sisters, Sammie Justus of Tulsa, Okla., and Bessie Williams of Atwater; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Hudson Russell Scott

A memorial service for Hudson Russell Scott, 50, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Vacaville.

The Rev. Dr. Leroy Gainey will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Scott died Feb. 16, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born July 31, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pa., he lived in Fairfield for five years. He worked in automobile sales for 20 years.

Mr. Scott loved music, literature and reading.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Patricia K. of Fairfield; daughter, Jean Michaels of Paradise; son, Julian of Milpitas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Loretta McCracken of Green Valley, Archie and Elaine Smith of Fairfield and Jackie Rabner of Napa; and cousin, Joyce Minor-Howell of Columbia, Md.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children Inc.: Heart of California Lions: c/o Barbara Robertson, 349 Berryessa Drive, Vacaville 95687.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Bertie May Walker

Private services will be held for Bertie May Walker, 85, of Fairfield. Friends may call at the family home on Friday. Disposition will be private in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker died Feb. 19, 1999, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.

Born April 15, 1914, in Township Tonkawa, Okla., she lived in Fairfield for 50 years. She also lived in Long Beach until 1933. She worked at Douglas Aircraft during World War II, was a homemaker most of her life and a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Walker enjoyed reading, animals and politics.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Don Loveless; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Susie Walker of Fairfield; grandsons, David and Chris Kirshener of Forney,  Texas, Clint of Edin, Okla., and Billy Jack of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Kathy of Bowling Green, Mo.; and great-granddaughters, Cornellia and Gracie Montermarano of Bowling Green, Mo.

Memorial contributions can be made to Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation & Activities Center, 585 Nut Tree Court, Vacaville, 95687.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Rene Carbajal Castillo

Memorial services for Rene Carbajal Castillo, 40, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1651 B Sunset Ave. in Fairfield.

Elder Steven  Schmidt will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Ms. Castillo died Feb. 24, 1999, at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo following a short illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1958, in Los Banos, she lived in Fairfield for 18 years, having lived previously in San Jose. She served in the Air Force from 1977 to 1981 as an environmental health specialist-technician.

She is survived by her husband, Kahill Walker of San Francisco; father and mother, Alfred and Inez Lewis of Los Banos; sisters, Frances Hinton of Rapid City, S.D., and Theresa Castillo of San Jose; brother, Jesse Castillo of Turlock; and eight nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AIDS Foundation, Solano County Public Health Departmentt, Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Thomas W. Teufel

A funeral liturgy and Mass of Christian burial for Thomas W. Teufel, 85, of Bridgeport, Ohio, will be held Saturday in his hometown.

Monsignor Frank P. Manieri will preside. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Blaine, Ohio.

Born on the Fourth of July, 1913, in Bridgeport, Ohio, he died there Feb. 22, 1999, after a long illness in Heartland Lansing Care Center.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Strauss of Bridgeport; daughter, Nancy Murphy of Vacaville, longtime administrative assistant of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce; son, Thomas Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Kelly M. Murphy of Redondo Beach and Brent Murphy of Costa Mesa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Regina Friese and a brother, William.

Mr. Teufel was a retired die setter for Wheeling Closure Corp. of Wheeling, W.Va. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the St. Barbara Society.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, in Brookside, Ohio.

Richard Paul Addison

Memorial services for Richard Paul Addison, 49, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. March 13 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Pastor Gretchen Shilts of NorthBay Medical Center will officiate. Disposition will be private.

Born July 31, 1949, in Woodbury, N.J., Mr. Addison died Feb. 23, 1999, in Sacramento.

He worked as a civil servant and the Air Force in aircraft maintenance for 28 years at Travis Air Force Base. He loved gardening, family and friends who made friends easily. He also worked as a handyman in and around Fairfield after he retired.

Mr. Addison is survived by his wife, Mallarie of Fairfield; daughters, Sasha and Tiffany, both of Fairfield; son, Shane Smith of Fairfield; sister, Marge Gavin of New Jersey; and father, Harry Johnston of Fairfield.

Memorial contributions can be made to Irwin Memorial Blood Center, 2791 N.  Texas St., Fairfield 94533.

Noella Mary Brindle

Funeral services for Noella Mary Brindle, 65, of Fairfield will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Pastor Rick Stonestreet of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Disposition will be private.

Born Dec. 25, 1933, in New Foundland, Canada, Mrs. Brindle died Feb. 24, 1999, in Fairfield.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed arts, crafts needle point and knitting.

She is survived by her husband, Harold of Fairfield; daughters, Deborah Benoit of New Foundland, Canada, and Michelle Brindle of Fairfield; sons, Ricki of Fairfield and Mick of Abilene,  Texas; sisters, Teresa Shepard of Fairfield, Margie Malloy of California, Alleen Giguere of New Hampshire, Bernadette Stevens of Ohio, Mazie Quintilla of Guam, Ivey Rowe of Canada, and Genevieve Rowe of New Foundland; brothers, Edward Rowe, Arthur Rowe, Nellis Rowe, Kenneth Rowe, Ted Rowe, Burt Rowe, Reggie Rowe and Gilbert Rowe, all of Canada; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the NorthBay Hospice, 1200 B. Gale Wilson Blvd., Fairfield 94533.

Emil Anthony Otterstedt Jr.

A memorial mass for Emil Anthony Otterstedt Jr., 75, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Disposition will be private.

Born Dec. 16, 1924, in San Francisco, Mr. Otterstedt died Feb. 26, 1999, in Fairfield.

He served in the Army during World War II and worked for C.E. Toland Construction as an iron worker for 40 years. He was a member of Iron Workers Local No. 790 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved outdoor activities like fishing, camping and skin diving.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kathleen of Fairfield and Gary and Teri of Moss Beach; and grandchildren, Gary Jr., Sean and Michelle.

Wendell Leroy Patton

Memorial services for Wendell Leroy Patton, 66, of Vallejo will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Vallejo.

Inurnment will be at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo.

Born May 31, 1932, in Sacramento, Mr. Patton died Feb. 25, 1999, in Vallejo.

He lived in Vallejo for 50 years and was an electrician for local IBEW No. 80 for 42 years. Raised and educated in Sacramento, Richmond and Vallejo, he served in the Air Force and was in the Korean War. He was an active member in church, East Vallejo Little League, Boy Scouts and youth activities and was an avid sports enthusiast.

Mr. Patton in survived by his wife of 48 years, Doreatha of Vallejo; daughter, Connie Pudlak of Vallejo; son, Dale of Vallejo; sisters, Ethelyn Puccini, Lois Petrotta, Barbara Wencke and Corrine Claussen, all of Sacramento; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mae Patton; son, Craig; brother, Frank; and sister, Maxine Fauscett.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wendell Patton Memorial Fund at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 201 Doyle Drive, Vallejo 94591.

Arrangements are under the direction of Skyview Memorial Lawn.

Max Arthur Adler

Funeral services for Max Arthur Adler, 84, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Suisun Lodge No. 55, F&AMp;AM will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park with full military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Mr. Adler died Feb. 27, 1999, in his home after a short illness.

Born Feb. 6, 1915, in New York City, he resided in Fairfield for 31 years. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years in 1968 as chief personnelman. He was a World War II, Korea and Vietnam Veteran. After retirement from the Navy he worked in civil service as a postal carrier in Fairfield and Vallejo for 10 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of F&AMp;AM Yokosuka, Japan Lodge No. 20, Scottish Rite Club, Chief Solano, Montezuma Shrine Club of Vacaville, Ben Ali Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Shrine of Sacramento.

Mr. Adler is survived by his daughter, Roberta Eldridge of Staten Island, N.Y.; grandchildren, Robin Stephanie and Alexis Erica, both of Staten Island; niece, Vicky Borenson of Southern California.

William Jarvis Allen

There will no funeral services for William Jarvis Allen, 64, of Fairfield.

Mr. Allen died Feb. 27, 1999, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Born Oct. 23, 1934, in  West Virginia, he resided in Fairfield for 22 years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1974, retiring in the grade of master sergeant from the 60th Air Base Group. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years in San Rafael and Fairfield.

Mr. Allen loved fishing and gardening. He was a hard-working man who will be missed by family members and many friends who love him dearly.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Jeannine of Fairfield; daughters, Marie Marcano and Brigitte, both of Fairfield; mother, Mary Carter of Martinsburg, W.Va.; brother, Lewis of Waverly, Va.; grandsons, Joseph Marcano and Jarvis, both of Fairfield.

Visitation will be 5:30 to 8 today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Don L. Angle

Visitation for Don L. Angle, 83, of Suisun Valley, will be held from 7-9 p.m. today in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Inurnment in Fairmont Memorial Park will be private.

Born March 25, 1915, in Gentry, Ark., Mr. Angle died Feb. 28, 1999, in Sunrise La Mariposa Care Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

Mr. Angle was an Army veteran of World War II and Korea and retired in 1958 with the rank of major after 20 years of service.

He was a civil service comptroller at Concord Naval Weapons Station for 14 years. He retired in 1972 and had a pumpkin growing business now operated by his grandchildren.

Mr. Angle is survived by his wife, Olga; daughter, Patricia of Berkeley; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kathryn of Suisun Valley; two sisters, Ruth Hilton and Virginia Hough, both of Illinois and four grandchildren, Christopher, David, Michael and Karen, all of Suisun Valley.

A memorial contribution may be made to a donor's favorite charity.
