Hanna Ingrid Fox

Memorial services for Hanna Ingrid Fox, 82, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church.

Pastor Lester Seto will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Fox died March 13, 1999, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born Aug. 22, 1916, in Haley, N.D., she moved to the area 54 years ago. She was a homemaker.

She was very active in Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed golf, bingo and painting.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her daughters, Janet Mullaney of Vacaville, Nancy Boyd of Cotati and Karin Gradillas of Flagstaff, Ariz.; stepson, Alvin Lee Fox of Bakersfield; sister, Inga Muller of Healdsburg; brother, Henry Lovstad of Sacramento; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin S. in 1989.

Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Hanna Fox to Bethany Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

William Benjamin Knapp

Memorial services for William Benjamin Knapp, 74, of Vacaville were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church.

Pastor Milton Speck of Trinity Baptist Church officiated. Inurnment was private.

Born July 15, 1924, in Peoria, Ill., Mr. Knapp died March 12, 1999, in Vacaville.

A resident of Vacaville for 21 years, Mr. Knapp worked for Safeway for 15 years and for American Home Foods for 10 years before retiring. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a great lover of nature.

He is survived by his wife, Nell of Vacaville; stepson, Richard Cheetham of Florida; step-daughters, Cheris Hoffmann of Hanna City, Ill., Jean Daniel of Fairfield, and Carol Meek of Pollock Pines; sister, Martha Jordon of St. David, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 W. Monte Vista Ave.

Arrangements were under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Warren J. Quinton

A celebration of life for Warren J. Quinton, 73, of Fairfield will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Temple Baptist Church.

Mr. Quinton died March 14, 1999, in his home.

Born Jan. 11, 1926 in Mason, Mass., he resided in Fairfield. He served in the Navy for 12 years. "Doc," as he was known to friends and family, was an avid fisherman. He also was a skilled craftsman. He took pride in making toys, furniture and pens out of exotic woods. Many of his family and friends were treated to his gourmet cooking. He enjoyed telling stories from his travels and interests.

Mr. Quinton is survived by his wife, Lori; son, Guy of Anchorage, Ala., and Scott Dussalt of San Francisco; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Gretchen of Anchorage; daughter, Debbie Peltz of Bloomingdale, N.J.; grandchildren, Josh Saunders of Bloomingdale, Evan and Jacqueline Zimny of Napa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Dee of Huntington Beach, Ed and Rose, of Lakewood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made to The American Cancer Society, 1652  Texas St., Fairfield.

Arrangements are by The Neptune Society of Northern California, Fairfield.

Roxanna Stockton Smith

Funeral services for Roxanna Stockton Smith, 76, of Fairfield will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Community United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Vic Matson will officiate. Interment with graveside services will be held at East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown, Ind.

Mrs. Smith died March 15, 1999, in her home after a brief illness.

Born June 27, 1922, in Morgantown, Ind., she lived in Fairfield for 33 years. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute and Solano Community College. She had degrees in general business and in general secretarial. She worked as a secretary for various businesses in the U.S. government for 12 years and most recently was a secretary for the Solano County Health Department from 1980 to 1986, when she retired. She was a past volunteer for the American Red Cross, a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Fairfield and past Methodist Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sisters, Aileen Douglas of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Maurice E. Clark of  Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Wanda Lou Bledsoe

Funeral services for Wanda Lou Bledsoe, 64, of Vacaville will be 1:30 p.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel.

Pastor Earl Gibbings of Allendale Union Chapel will preside. Interment will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Bledsoe died March 13, 1999, in her home after a brief illness.

Born June 2, 1934, in Allen, Okla., she lived in Vacaville for 50 years. She worked for Kaiser Permanente Rehabilitation Center in the 1950s and 1960s. She was a member of Job's Daughters of Vallejo, was active in Ulatis PTA and served as president for one term.

Mrs. Bledsoe is survived by her husband, Brice of Vacaville; daughters, Kathleen Bledsoe and Janet Gardner, both of Vacaville; son, Brice J. of Vacaville; grandchildren, Shawnee and Scott Flack and Joanna Bledsoe, all of Vacaville; sisters, Lucretia Waltman of Turlock, Addie Moss of Killeen,  Texas, and Betty Wuthnow of Sedgewick, Kan.; brothers, Charles Donaghy of Novice,  Texas, and Lee Lesley of Lake Elsinore.

Frieda Mae Bluhm

Funeral services for Frieda Mae Bluhm, 78, of Fairfield will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Solano Christian Fellowship Church.

Pastor John Booker will officiate. Disposition will be private.

Mrs. Bluhm died March 17, 1999, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Sept. 21, 1920, in Tamms, Ill., she lived in Fairfield for 36 years. She was a homemaker for 41 years. She was very active in church activities. One of her strongest beliefs was that of daily prayer. She was associated with the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and the Silver Bear Award.

Mrs. Bluhm is survived by her husband, Vernon of Fairfield; daughters, Bernice Hall of Tulsa, Okla., Sharron Haigh of Oveido, Fla., and Karen Rhinehart of Los Banos; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Solano Christian Fellowship Church, 1435 North  Texas St., Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Arthur L. Crew

Funeral services for Arthur L. Crew, 87, of Sacramento will be 10 a.m. today in Vaca Valley Christian Life Center.

Pastor Timothy R. May will preside. Interment will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Crew died March 15, 1999, in Sacramento after a sudden illness.

Born May 26, 1911, in Porterville, he lived in Sacramento for seven years. He lived in Vacaville for 42 years. He worked for 45 years as a carpenter with Local 180 of the Carpenter's Union. He did a great deal of work for his church and his life revolved around the Vaca Valley Christian Life Center and he retired from there on his 82nd birthday.

Mr. Crew enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Crew is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vera of Sacramento; sons, Daniel of Portland, Ore., and Richard of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Charles Carter of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Elena of Davis, Ryan Carter, Cara Carter and David Carter, all of Spartanburg; sister, Elizabeth Martin of Reseda; daughter-in-law, Jeanne of Davis. He was preceded in death by his son, Harvey.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. today at the Vaca Valley Christian Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the building fund at the Vaca Valley Christian Life Center, or your favorite charity.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Elizabeth N. Glide

No services will be held for Elizabeth N. Glide, 83, at her request.

Mrs. Glide died March 13, 1999, in Sacramento.

Mrs. Glide was a native of Dixon and a 30-year resident of Mendocino. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Glide is survived her sons, Peter, William and Michael; sisters, Sadye Petersen and Jeanette Pearson; grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael B., Mary, Leslie, Laura, Julie, Megan, Janet and Nick; great-grandchild, Leticia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elsen.

Arrangements are by W.F. Gormley & Sons of Sacramento.

Ethel Amanda Hayes

Funeral services for Ethel Amanda Hayes, 84, of Vacaville will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will preside. Burial will be private at Happy Valley Cemetery in Anderson.

Mrs. Hayes died March 16, 1999, in her home.

Born April 5, 1914, in Perronville, Mich., she lived in Vacaville for 19 years. Mrs. Hayes had been a prior member of St. Mary's and a longtime member of St. Joseph's. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by her daughters, Nancy Pierce of Concord, Deborah Kelling of Spokane, Wash.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and David Tidwell of Cottonwood, Linda and Bill Hines of Vacaville; sons, James and Michael Hayes of Klamath Falls, Ore., 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, sons, Peter and Thomas; and grandchildren, Thomas, Kelly, Annette and Nathan.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today with rosary recited at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Michel G. Higgins

Funeral services for Michel G. Higgins, 41, of Dixon will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Maurice O'Brien will preside. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Higgins died March 16, 1999, in Vallejo after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 26, 1957, in Oakland, he lived in Dixon and Solano County for 41 years. He owned and drove his own truck for a living.

Mr. Higgins enjoyed the outdoors, farming, ranching, cooking, fishing and, most of all, his family.

Mr. Higgins is survived by his wife, Joan of Dixon; daughter, Justine of Dixon; son, Blake of Dixon; mother and father, George and Helene of Dixon; sister, Martina Morgan of Vacaville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces of Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield, Live Oak, New York,  Washington,  Texas, Kentucky, Kansas and Nevada.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 832 Folsom St., Ninth Floor, San Francisco, 94107.

Elizabeth Rosemary Lord

Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth "Betty" Rosemary Lord, 79, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Lord died March 16, 1999, in VacaValley Hospital after a short illness.

Born May 9, 1919, in Canada, she moved to the area in 1960. She was a retail manager for Hudson's for 20 years and a bookkeeper for Borden's. She was a member of St. Mary's Woman's Club and Food Locker. She also was a swim coach for Vacaville Swim Club.

Mrs. Lord is survived by her daughters, Maureen Jensen of Fairfield and Karen Angeli of New Jersey; grandchildren, Thomas Jensen of Fairfield, Karen and David Angeli, both of New Jersey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary at 8 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.
